Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

This may look like an ordinary patch of garlic plants, but I can assure you, it's so much more. A garden cat must be able to look at her garden in many ways, not just the obvious. Come, look more closely. Biggify if you need to.
What's this!? Yes, it's yours truly, sleeping on the job. Garlic makes a nice hiding spot. I've been advised to take it easy to recover from my episode of "gardening elbow", so I'm following doctors orders.
A nice snooze in the garlic patch is working wonders for me! You should give it a try. The garlic patch is a part of my herb garden that is being disassembled, but we are leaving the garlic in place until we harvest it. Then the remaining bulblets will be moved to their new location. Once I get my basil patch up and running, mom will mix it all up and then she makes pesto. I don't much care for pesto on my cat food, but mom and dad seem to like it (not on cat food!). That's why I grow these things to keep them happy.

I wouldn't be a good sister if I didn't make a last minute plea for votes for Cory in Kitty Fight Club! She's behind by quite a few votes, so help her out if you can.
PS-Grete is doing better everyday. She will have to be on a leash even in our own yard for 10 days before she can cut loose again...and yes, she is whining...

Tuesday Tales

This has been a week of my mom being totally insufferable...dragging out ALL of my kitten pictures for the world to see. How would you feel if your mother did that to you? I know she's only trying to help, but sheesh... I may be trailing in the polls of cuteness, but as long as I'm still in it, I'll keep trying.

This is one picture I don't mind sharing. It shows my early aptitude for blogging. I've always been fascinated with computer keyboards and never miss an opportunity to sleep on them or paw at them. I even learned how to open notepad on my own and type secret messages. I'm about 3 months old here.I think my dad was trying to be tricky by putting a pad of paper over the keyboard so I couldn't cause too much trouble. Did he think I'd try to order from the online pet store when his back was turned? Grete came home from her spay surgery. She is not feeling so great and she does not want to leave her crate. We are purring she feels better real soon.

Momma Meezer Monday-A mothers concern

I'm here today to express my concern over my daughter Cory and her participation in Kitty Fight Club. As her mother, I'm biased. She is the absolute cutest kitten in the world to me. My worry is her maintaining her sense of self-esteem and worth with so many judging her. I catch her at the computer obsessing about the results. I think I may need to put my paw down.

Thanks to the wonderful support of the CB, she has done well. But what if she loses her match with Baby Patches? Last I looked she was trailing a bit. Will she be able to handle it? Can she handle the pressure? It's my duty as a mother to ensure that she is emotionally supported no matter what the outcome. Even if she pulls out a win, I need to make sure she doesn't get all full of herself. Her sweet innocence is what makes her so special. No matter what, I'm here to support my daughter.

PS...vote Cory! (I couldn't help myself...) That doesn't make me a stage mother, does it?

PSS...Grete goes in to the V-E-T Monday morning for her spay surgery. Purr along with us for her speedy recovery.

Sunday-Sweet Memories

Preparation for Kitty Fight Club has been bittersweet. In looking through my kitten pictures, looking for weapons of mass cuteness, we found pictures of me with my beloved guardian angel Jonathan. So while I'm bringing it...cute wise...I want the world to know how much I loved my Jonathan and how much he loved me. We were inseparable.

Here we are watching the water drip in the bathtub. Here we are hanging out under the table.

Here we are at the table...I'm being coy...

Jonathan left for the Bridge when I was only 8 months old. I love you and miss you Jonathan...now and forever.
PS, stop by Zoolatry for a celebration of families!

Saturday Smack Down- Bring on the Cute!

Thank you to those who have supported me in Kitty Fight Club over at Misha's! I can't believe I'm in the semi-finals. When mom first entered me, I was thinking this was going to be easy...I mean she said, I'm entering you in KFC. I thought...a Kentucky Fried Chicken contest? Cool! I can out eat any cat in a chicken eating contest...and I can steal chicken off a table and be down the hall and under a bed in a split second. No contest! But then it became clear this was a battle of the cute. And every kitten is cute. Oh dear! My momma Ellie talks to me and gives me a tongue bath every night to help keep my kitty self esteem intact through this whole thing.

Because this is heating up...I'm bringing on the cute...big time! The battle is on...take that Baby Patches....I'm a big girl, really I amDeal with this Baby Patches...did you climb Mt. Foot when you were a baby?

Got cute?
Few can resist my kitten in a basket move...
Can't a girl get a little privacy? Is this an illegal maneuver...sleeping in Daddy's hands...is this an illegal assist? I'm doing it anyway.
I dare you to put me downEven asleep, I'm dangerous...

That remote is HUGEI'm laying it all out there....vote Cory!

Formerly Feral Friday

***Breaking News!*** Cory has won her Kitty Fight Club Quarterfinal battle by a slim margin of 2 votes! She thanks everyone for their support and she will be back with a message on Saturday to kick off the Semi-Final round. We are proud of her. ~ Madison

We have had such a great week. Cecilia and I are both getting out in the garden to hang out. I love the feel of sunshine on my fur. Here I am hanging out near the oriental poppy patch. They don't look like much now, but when they bloom they are spectacular!
Cecilia is strolling through the phlox plants, enjoying the sun.

We are lucky to have such a great hang out spot! Have a happy Friday everyone!

Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

I love springtime in the garden. It seems like the garden is all brown and moss green, and then in an instant, all the colors start coming out. I'm still enjoying the yellow of the daffodils. The raised beds are still brown with dirt, but within a couple of months we'll have activity there too! Some of mom's favorite flowers are this daisy patch. The first blossoms appeared this past weekend and we wanted to celebrate! There are also wild bleeding heart plants in this same patch.
The blossoms on the apple tree are also making an appearance. Everything is starting to smell good too!
Here I am inspecting the first blossoms on our Rhododendron bushes. They'll be full of color soon! This is so exciting!
This spring dad finally got some help and now our grape is all trellised and ready to do well vs. being a mess like it has been for years! What was so interesting to me is that the wire they have securing it all is awesome for scratching your face! What a great discovery. I love my garden!
I had a great weekend in the garden. The weather stayed nice for several days but as of Wednesday it turned colder...and on Tuesday night I started favoring my right front paw. I got hauled off to the v-e-t faster than Cory will eat a piece of cheese. They say it's my elbow and I probably over did it or something like that. I'm now banished to the inside until I show improvement. It's springtime. I have work to do...I can't snoopervise if I'm inside!

Tuxie Tuesday

The weather has been amazing! Time for me to get out and check out the garden happenings. First stop is the nip patch. It's coming along nicely. Before too long the nip will be towering over my head! The daffodils are still in bloom! There's still nothing planted in the raised beds. I heard a rumor that some seeds were buried the dirt, but I sure can't tell by looking at it. Maybe I can dig them up? That kind of sounds like fun. That would make Jonesie crazy....

Cory- Behind the Scenes

Thank you to everyone who participated in Sock It To Me Sunday! I had a blast and hope you all did too.

One of mom and dad's favorite things to do is watch the DVD's about "the making of" The Lord of the Rings movies. They don't re-watch the movie itself, but they have watched "the making of" at least a kazillion times. So I thought you'd like to see "the making of" Corycat Blog and the behind the scenes happenings.I like that picture best Here I am consulting with mom. We are studying layouts, concepts and photographs. This is hard work.
You're the best mom Once mom and I come to an agreement, I let her know that I'm happy with how she is taking my direction and listening to what I want. Sometimes at this point I purr.
Do you think I should let Ginger guest post today? Sometimes I get a bit hungry and thirsty, but all that can wait until we are done.

I need more time on my own blogOnce she hits the publish post button on my behalf, it's time to thank mom for all her help. Then it's time to nap.
PS. Don't forget to vote for me in Kitty Fight Club. I'm in the quarter finals! Click on the Kitty Fight Club picture on my side bar and it will take you to my "fight". Survival of the cutest!!!

Let's nap!
