Thursday Lounging In The Grass With Jonesie

Meow!  It's just me, hanging out in the grass today.  Mom messed up the days of the week, so I confused all the garden cats in the world by posting on Wednesday.  Good help is hard to find.

So today, I'm just enjoying the grass and I'll be visiting all the other kitties in their gardens.  If you want to see all the happenings at my place, just check out all the news from yesterday.  Sigh...I'm yesterday's news.

Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Meow!  Welcome back to my garden.  Look how small I look next to the dogwood trees.  We have both pink and white ones.
Here you can see that the pink ones are smaller and the white ones are huge!  Even Cecilia can't climb to the top of it!
I like it better at the base of the tree.  Sometimes I climb, but only small trees, and then not so very far up.  I prefer my paws to be touching dirt and grass.
The Rhododendrons are in bloom.  I just love them because they are pink and red and beautiful!
The Calla Lilies are also returning.  I have to enjoy the blossoms now before I turn my attention full time to growing food.  Next weekend we put in the squash, eggplant and carrots and stuff.
I'm going to take a nap on my deck now.  I'm feeling good but I don't want to push it or anything like that.  A garden cat has to pace herself.
Hope you are enjoying your Thursday!  Leave a link and let me know what you are doing!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Hi there!  I'm off probation now. Double secret probation.  Trouble is, I've been let in on the reality of what I have to do now to make everything up to Jonesie and get back on track.  I thought it would be easy...writing 100 times with my paw in the dirt...I will not diss Jonesie.  I will not diss Jonesie.  But no.

But before we get back to me, there was big happenings over the weekend.  Bennette, Jonesie and Grete had to go to the v-e-t.   It was just a check up for all of them, with vaccinations and stuff.  Before Jonesie and Bennette left, Ellie had to investigate the carriers to make sure they were safe for travel.
Once Ellie gave the paws up, Bennette and Jonesie were stuffed inside.
I waited at home in the yard.  All went very well and they came home saying stuff like...the v-e-t thought I was sweet and good and blah blah blah blah...

I'm gonna hack up a hairball...

So why you ask am I sitting in this odd position?   I was loving on my little nip plant when mom noticed me sitting weird.  Am I injured, sore, hurt?? Nope...just got poop stuck to my furry butt, that's all.  I dragged my rear through the dirt but it didn't help.
I had to be cleaned up with baby wipes.  I had to have some of my furrs cut out.  Yes, my punishment for dissing Jonesie is I have to share embarrassing stuff about myself.
At least you get to see my belly floof!

Monday Funday

Cory, you got mail!!!  It smells good too!

Look, it's a letter from my good furriends Goldie, Shade, Banshee and the PM!

Oh no wonder it smelled great.  These are the DiscoNips I won.  How cool is that?  Momma, check them out with me.  There's 2 of them so we can play at the same time.  Don't let Bennette steal them from us.
Grete!  No you can't steal my DiscoNip.  You have your own woofie toys!

These were so much fun.  I whapped them all over the house and bunny kicked them and licked them...sigh.  Such fun.  Thank you so much Goldie, Shade and the PM...and mostly to Banshee for being the inspiration for these wonderful toys!

Sunday Squirrel Hunt

Hi there!  I'm squirrel hunting with our neighbor furriend cat Freeta Bandeeta (I'm sure we'll find out one day that her name is really Fluffy or something like that).  She's cool since she'll get right up in the dogwood tree with me.

You might have to biggify to see the evil squirrel way up high in the branches.  With us girls tag teaming him, he doesn't stand a chance.

Happy Sunday!

Formerly Feral Friday

It's about time we got to  post!  We threatened Cory with filing a complaint, threatened to take away her socks for 5 minutes, take away her extra sharp cheddar cheese...

It worked!
See my head peaking out of the greenery to keep an eye on Cecilia?

We like hanging out together.
We are thrilled the weather is getting better and we can spend quality time in the garden.

Happy Friday!

Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Meow!  Happy Earth Day!  I'm so excited to have a whole day dedicated to the Earth!  What are you doing to honor the day? Wouldn't it be great if each of us kitties had new catnip planted in our honor?

I had to give it a lot of thought.   I thought one good way to celebrate the earth was to honor our friendly and helpful earthworms.  We have lots of them in the garden and we have to be careful when we dig so we don't harm them.  They make sure our soil is nice and wonderful!
Another cool thing to do is lots of planting of new plants.  I was thinking that our normal garden stuff didn't quite count because most of them are annuals.  I still snoopervised the planting of our cooler weather friends like lettuce, spinach, kale and broccoli.

It's  important to make sure you add stuff to the dirt.  Dirt just doesn't do well on it's own.  Earthworms help, but our dirt likes peat moss and perlite and compost mixed in.

Final inspection is always my favorite part.
Now for the really special news.  For Earth Day, it's good to plant something permanent that will grow and stay for years to come.  I sort of snoopervised the planting of our very own mini vineyard!  I sort of did it because the rototiller scared me so I kept my distance.  I'll give it closer inspection this coming weekend to make sure it's all settled in properly.  It will be several years before mom and dad can make wine, but it should be lots of fun.

I'm tired!  Time to nap in the decomposed leaves!Be sure to leave a link!

Tuxie Tuesday

We've all had enough of Ginger and her Tabby Tattletale Tuesday.  After what she said about Jonesie last week, we all voted and put her on one week probation.  No dissing Jonesie around here.  No revealing her secrets either.  It's just not done.

Cory turned Tuesday over to me this week!  I actually helped Jonesie in the garden.  I'm still learning, but I think I've got talent.

I proved that I can find great boxes to hang out in...uh, maybe that's not the point.  Oh well.

Our flowering cherry tree is in full bloom.  Do you know what that means?
Yup, it's snowing pink!!!
