Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Sometimes I like to lounge in the garden even though there is lots of work to do. There was so much work that mom and dad hired some people to help out. I took advantage and took a little break when the sun came out.Sunshine feels good on my furs Even though it's getting warmer and sunnier, it's still too cold to plant. Mom will probably start some things in the greenhouse, but she was lazy, I mean busy last weekend and didn't get around to it. I'll just have to imagine what this will look like full of veggies this summer.

One sad thing...my herb garden is going away. When my mom and dad built this, they never leveled it. It's now a mess and needs to be redone. Dad has string up to tell him how to keep it level next time around so he doesn't mess it up. All of the perennial herbs are going to be moved to the vegetable bed for this summer and the new garden won't be ready until next year.

I'm taking my farewell walkabout to say so long to one of my favorite hang outs. Until we meet again!
PS...the reason Cory was wordless yesterday and staring out the window? A raccoon was moving slowly in the yard on Tuesday. It climbed into the hidey hole in our willow tree. We were worried the raccoon was sick, but when dad went out this morning to check out the hidey hole he found one newborn baby raccoon! We are still waiting for momma to come back around, but we are excited and hoping everything will be ok. Dad will keep checking on it. Even though we don't like raccoons at all we are suckers for a momma and her baby.

It's a good idea to get a bit of rest in. It sounds like you're going to be super busy very soon!

It must be so exciting to have a baby raccoon! We have never seen one. Is it cute? We bet it's cute!

A baby racoon is something we'll never get to see here! How exciting!
Jonesie, you showed the CB that you are NOT an overachiever! Mom sowed Sweet Peas and Chart and some seedlings are coming up. Yay!

I love to hang out in the garden too, Jonesie. We have to replant the herbs every year since they don't keep over the winter very well here where it gets so cold. All except for the catnip. That stuff comes back every year. You have a real nice garden.
