Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day to Ellie

I know it's my birthday and Mother's Day.   I should be celebrating but I'm still having a hard time with losing my good friend and sister Bennette.

I am comforted knowing that she went to The Bridge with her ears scrubbed and all of our love and purrs.   She had so many furriends from around the world, human, feline and woofies too.

Here is a picture of us during our happy times together.

Happy Mothers Day and Happy Birthday Ellie!

What?  You almost forgot my Birthday?  Me?  The Momma?  The center of it all?

You know what this means?  And endless supply of fresh leafy greens from the garden and your undivided attention. All day long!

Momma Ellie in the Garden on Thursday

::Meowwww::

Today I'm pawing it over to Momma Ellie to report on her garden activities.   I've given her a briefing on her duties and she's ready to go.

Rubbing on corn to make the stalks grow big and strong is not easy to do.  You have to have a lot of finesse.

Always be on the lookout for introoders.

You never know when a rascally rabbit might come along and steal a carrot or 2.

At the end of a hard day 5 minutes of work it's great to roll in the grass.

Missing Nigel

Thank you for all of your purrs of support.   We are all getting adjusted to Nigel watching over us instead of being here in the fur.

I want you all to know that I loved him.  Not always in the way that he wanted me to, but I loved him.   We are taking comfort in knowing that I gave him a good tongue bath on Friday night.  He loved me scrubbing his ears.

I will miss his incredibly soft and manly fur and his love for all of us.

It may take a few days, but mom is planning to put together a tribute post.  She wants to dig through his photos over the past 5 years.

Woofie Wednesday

Ohhh how I loved the inflatable bed.  Do you know how awesome it was...the perfect size for a dog?   Not that I mind sharing....

Room enough for my binky and 3 of my best friends.  Figaro could join us but he passed out on a chair with a fuzzy blankie.

Mitten Monday

One of the best parts of the holidays is when my mom and dad get out the inflatable bed and put it in the middle of the living room between the fireplace and the Christmas tree.   My Momma Ellie and Bennette and I spent lots of time there.

Of course now that it's January, all of that has been put away.  No tree, no decorations and no inflatable bed.  Nigel is having a hard time since he spends hours and hours sitting next to the tree, looking at the lights.  He adores it.

All I had to look forward to was our new Cats of the CB 2014 Calendar.  Can you imagine my joy when I saw that my boyfriend, Alfie Marshall was Mr. January 2nd!

It's going to be a good year.

Mitten Monday

*waving paws*

I'm sorry I've not been good about posting.  It's not really my fault.  There is only so much a cat can control.

I handle the part about being cute.  Doing interesting things.

If mom is slacking with the camera or uploading...all my furriends suffer.

Not that we've been suffering.  It's been freezing cold here.  So of course we do what anyone else would do in that situation.  Hang out by the fireplace with family!

Pay no attention to the toys scattered everywhere.  As far as Santa is concerned we have NOTHING!

Tired Tuesday

There's something about a warm basket of laundry.  Fresh from the dryer.

Irresistible.  Comfy.

Momma Meezer and Mitten Monday

For all of my life, my momma Ellie has watched out for me.  She nursed me, taught me everything I know and washed me.  She still washes me.  She is especially good at ear scrubbing.  But best of all, she loves me.

I love her.

So when I have a chance to watch over her while she sleeps, it makes me purr.

Momma Meezer Monday

Sometimes a momma has got to toss aside responsibility and just cut loose.

Funny Bunny Tuesday

I know that Jonesie grew these for us...but what am I supposed to do with them?

Oh Cory...don't these smell divine!  So purrfect in every way...

Chomp!

Momma Meezer

Yesterday my Cory was playing with a blueberry.  She adores them, but mom and dad make sure she only gets to play with one at a time.

They don't want to find them squished all over the house...or dried up and discovered next year.

So when Cory lost track of her precious blueberry, she couldn't have another until the first one was found.

Hmmmmm....I have NO idea where it went.

Do you?
pee ess...you might have to biggify

Momma Meezer Monday

So last week Cory and I figured out that our mom was planning on abandoning us.   We were understandably upset.  I mean...the last time mom did this and left us with our daddy, he forgot to scoop out one of the litter boxes!  He doesn't mush up the Fancy Feast in quite the same way.

So we came up with a plan.  We decided to camp out on mom's suitcase.  Sure, she snuck stuff inside but we never left our post.

But then, the unthinkable happened.  Mom got sick.  Really sick...I mean hacking up a hairball sick.

She couldn't go on her trip...and we, being the good kitties we are had to go on full time nursecat duties.  24/7 I never left mom's side.

And I felt a wee bit guilty.  Who knew the sleeping on the suitcase trick would actually work?

Meanwhile, Cory has taken off to help Alfie and Milo move...she's flying the Magic Cheese Bus.  I heard they landed safely and after filling up on pub food she should be on her way back home.  Being her mother I won't stop worrying until she is safely back home.

Good news is that I successfully nursed my mom back to good health.  What would she do without me in charge?
