Friday in the Garden with Jonesie

Because I'm a bit sad about summer going away, I was allowed back to back posts this week. Yesterday I was walking by my pear trees, but I was going someplace very special. Dad planted one lonely little Cabernet grape plant. This is the second time we have had grapes. Even though there were only 3 bunches, it's more than we got last year. Aren't they pretty? I think the purple goes well with my grey furs. There is not enough to make a bottle of wine. Yet.
Dad said we'd just bring them inside and eat them. Mom and dad said they tasted really good, but they'd rather stomp on them and drink the wine.

So inside the house they went...and I suppose you can guess what happens next.
Mom said she knew the little morsels were headed for the floor so she saved them at the last minute.
Cory, Ellie and Bennette are all heading over to Sweet Praline's slumber party. We couldn't all go, someone has to stay home and watch the yard and stuff, so me and Grete will be doing that this coming weekend. Who knows when the little girls will return.

Well, I guess since some of the others went to the slumber party, somebody had to do the post today! Good for you Jonesie -- great job with the grapes. I bet that Cory just rolled them around and then squished them on the floor!
