Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie and Figaro

Meow!  Welcome furriends!  I'm taking it easy this week because I've got Figaro trained to help my dad in the garden this week.  Do you know how long it has been since I've been able to snooze under the grapes?  These are not wine grapes...those plants are still babies.  This is our big table grape plant.  It's my favorite place to sleep the summer away.
Come on in closer so you can see how wonderful and shady it is on warm summer days.
Before I paw it over to Figaro, below is our squash bed.  These are very happy squash plants and they are just starting to get blossoms and form baby squashies.  There are butternut and acorn squashes in this garden along with some garlic.
Figaro...over to you now...
I was on important mancat-in-training business in the garden.  Dad was weeding and I was drawn to the lawn clippings pile.
Dad stood by as I dug into it...
And then...well, ok...look away girls...a boy's gotta do what a boy's gotta do...
Ok, back to work now...where were we?

Wow! Your squashes look good. Ours are not doing so hot--maybe because it has not been at all hot here...

Ha, ha, Figaro. Mom and Dad have been surprised to see me using the outside as a toilet a few times recently. Since I usually use a litter box, I seem to feel rather proud of myself using couple of special outdoor spots. That leaf clipping pile looks like a great one!

Lovely grape shade, Jonesie.

Great spot, Jonesie! Must get the apprentice to do the hard work as you snopervise in the shade.

This reminds SS of the time when she was a student doing field work. She was digging in the 85deg+ heat, shin deep in mud and water at the edge of a large artificial lake, when her professor sailed by in a row boat, dressed in white pants, directing the work in progress.

Hi Jonesie,

If anybuddy deserves a nice rest unda the grapes ~ yoo do. Yoo werk so hard in the garden , snoopervising yoor dad (nice shorts by the way) and training Figaro.

Am I right in guessing that Figaro is :fertylizing: the lawn clippings pile? Yoo'd fik he'd wait til he was off duty! MOL! I hope he is more useful that Milo used to be as an assistant. Milo was hopeless.

Love Alfs xx

Our squash got ate by bugs (Hiss).

Your garlic looks great. Love, that shady spot under the grapes. Jonesie you are very smart to snooze there.

Figaro, we thinks that is called fertilizing the yard (Shhhhhh don't tell Mom, we does that too).

It looks like Dante is getting a run for his money when it comes to being "Secretary of Garden Fertilization"! Figaro is a mancat after his own heart (and butt), it seems.

It's nice that Jonesie gets a chance to rest for a while. It's a well deserved rest, I might add.

Hi Jonesie,

I'm here. I just teleported over to help train Figaro. He needs to know that the grass clippings pile is NOT a potty! :sigh:

Love Alfie xx

Mommy says she would love to eat out of your garden, Jonesie!

Figaro, that looks like a ManCatly pee-squat to us! We would LOVE to pee freely Outdoors, but alas, we have to stay In. Rats.

Jonsie, you look like you have found an awesome napping spot - almost makes us wish we liked to go outside!! ...Almost!

MOL!! Figaro, we would've done the same thing!!

We kinda wish our Mom had a green thumb, she kills ALL the plants!! Not intentionally, mind you, but plants just seem to die in our house. :(

Have a happy day!!

I think I would like a lawn clipping pile a lot more than that dumb plastic litter box in my human's bathroom.

It looks like you've done an excellent job training Figaro. He is a truly dedicated gardening assistant to take such an active role in making sure the plants are well fertilized.
