Formerly Feral Friday

I'm so glad it's Friday! It's been a long week. Tomorrow, my special girl Cecilia will show us how to work a camera. Meanwhile, I'm trying to find a way to have happy hour delivered to my chair. If I figure it out I'll let you know.

Thursday in the Garden With Jonesie

I really wanted to find some birdies in the garden this week. Every September, the wild pigeons return to eat the berries on one of our trees. They did not cooperate one bit and I couldn't catch a picture of them in spite of my efforts to get a claw in one.
I did help my mom harvest some more basil and parsley and she made another big batch of pesto. Because I really wanted to participate in Tweet Week, I deputized my woofie Grete to go on special assignment in the field.
Grete here! Any chance to go for a ride in the car and go somewhere is cool with me. I was given a specific assignment from Jonesie. Find the swifts! Well being the smart woofie I am, they are not hard to find in Portland. Every year, the cute little buggers arrive at Chapman School and put on a show for everyone. I arrived early and scoped out the grounds.

I looked left and I looked left again.

Then I looked to the sky. At first there weren't too many of the birdies, but then more and more arrived. Then they started swirling around the big chimney. I was a good girl and didn't bark at them at all.
Jonesie wanted me to bring one back as a souvenir but I couldn't do it. The birdies started dropping one by one by hundreds into the chimney for a nice evenings snooze.

This has been special correspondent Grete, reporting on behalf of Master Gardener and bird catcher wannabe Jonesie.

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

I saw that kitties were noticing that Grete doesn't appear as often as she should on Cory's blog. Grete is a big part of our lives. I like her now that she respects me. For the longest time Grete woofie thought it was great to get a rise out of me. Not that it was easy to do, she just singled me out for teasing all of the time. It was her fault. I never overreacted at all. She'd nose at me and laugh. How would you feel? So the real reason she doesn't get as much blog time? She's afraid of the camera inside the house! Still! Silly woofie. I pawed through mom's pictures and most of the ones of Grete look like this.
She's ok with the camera outside. And Nigel? He doesn't appear as much because he's B-O-R-I-N-G. One picture of him looks like all the others. I think he's going to sleep and eat himself into oblivion. He weighs almost as much as me, but at least I move around. He moves from the cat tree to the food dish and back. At 9pm he moves to the bed and hollers for mom to join him. He stays there until morning and gets all mushy face with mom and dad. It's disgusting. Then he goes back to the cat tree and starts the whole routine over again. I'm bored just telling you about it. At least I'm interesting.
Meantime, we've been invaded by 3 strangers. Mom calls them family. Ellie and Cory are being obnoxious suck ups and I swear Ellie's paws have not touched the ground since they arrived. I myself remain distrustful and unconvinced they could be related to me.
