Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

There now, I've got your attention!

The weather is starting to turn here.  We are going to get a few more beautiful sunny days and then next week the rain will be headed our way.   Mom has been so distracted with Ginger that she has not helped me much in the yard.  Mom better get busy because the basil and tomatoes must be picked.  Now!

With mom and dad not gardening much this week, I can always count on my best pal Grete to keep me company.   Here she is with her old ball.  Mom let Grete keep it after Grete popped the squeaker out of it.

Don't worry, as of this posting Grete now has a brand new ball that has a squeaker that's harder to kill.

I spent some time at the fence looking for evil woofies.  This makes mom upset so she picks me up and places me back in middle of the yard.  She doesn't want me borrowing any trouble.

Moms are so silly.

Wednesday with Ginger

Oh my goodness!  I was so honored when so many of my furriends purred and prayed and woofed and woo'd...and you know what?

When I was sitting in my cage at the vet last night and I felt all of the vibrations of the purring and woofing...oh yeah...!  Things started moving again!

Mom and I are big believers in the power of the purr and woofie woofs.

I'm back home tonight in my special room so mom can monitor what goes in and what comes out.  You know what that means?  I get mom ALL to MYSELF for watching TV!

Where's the remote?

Tabby Tuesday

Hi there, Ginger here!  I've been having a rough time of it this past week.  I mean after I got all plugged up, the vets helped me out a lot.  I had to spend 3 whole days at the vet...and when I got home all I wanted to do is sit in my mom's lap and paw at her face.  I'm good at that.

She made such a fuss over me.

Unfortunately, on Monday morning I had to go back to the vet because I couldn't...uh...go.  I got plugged up again.  Mom is VERY worried about me because...well she's my mom.  It's her job to worry.

The vets are trying to figure out what's going on.  They think I have a condition called megacolon.  Mom says she experienced this with our guardian angel ::bows head in honor:: Michelangelo, however with me, mom says it seems worse.

We'll know more in a few days, so in the meantime, I think it would mean a lot to me and my mom if you would purr for me.
******************************************

UPDATE!

The power of the purr is something magical.  Ginger was able to pass everything on his own last night and will not require more severe/invasive treatment.   He will be sent home today with medication to help keep things moving along as well as special food.

Thank you for all your purrs and woofs and woos!  They worked!

Mancat Monday

I've been a bit under the weather.  After I made my plea for girlfurriends, I got a bit full of myself and spent the night outside for a few nights in a row.  I was always within sight but I didn't let mom and dad catch me to bring me in for the night.  Now I'm a bit sniffly and snuffly and I'm sneezing a bit.

"achoo!"

Mom is keeping a close watch on me to see if I need to go to the v-e-t.  She says for some reason I don't look uncomfortable...I'll trust her judgement.

Meanwhile, all my lady loves will have to wait a bit.   So I meow to you my sweet Siena, Chilli, Audrey, Salem, Boo and Fin (I'm not afraid of cougars!)...there's enough of me to go around.  I think.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::MEOWWWW::

I thought I should meow a bit louder this week, just because of all the stuff going on at my house this past week.

Turns out that I got one of the best tomato harvests EVER!  Woo hoo!  This is just some of the tomatoes we have harvested this week.

This year instead of the usual varieties we planted heirloom.  Of course mom didn't write down what we planted, so we have forgotten.  I couldn't read the tags on the plants either...sigh.  All I know is that I watched over them and made sure they got water and stuff...

Dad thanked me for all of my help since they could not have done it without me.

The sedum is getting more pink every day.  It's a sure sign that fall is almost here.

We got another surprise this week!  A second harvest of raspberries!  There are not that many, but they are sure appreciated.  You should have seen the way my mom and dad carried on about them.

It's embarrassing!

Hope you find wonderful surprises in your garden!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Hi there!  Ginger here!  Yes, my secret is out.  See, it wasn't really a secret as far as I'm concerned.  I knew.  All my furry siblings knew.

It was just my mom and dad who were confused.  Oh yeah, and most of the vets who have seen me.  Even the vet who initially examined me when I was first rescued declared me a spayed female.  The nerve!

Now granted, I've not really been sick until just recently.  See the drama unfolded this past week when I was having issues with diarrhea and constipation at the same time.  This led to a visit to the emergency vet.

The next morning following the emergency vet visit (where they looked at me close and still thought I was a girl)...I was checked into my regular vet.  There I saw a very beautiful and smart lady vet who immediately figured out that I am a boy.  She was the one who got to make the call to my mom.  Now mom was all worried about me and stuff, but for some reason this news threw her into a fit of laughter.  She then called my dad and this news threw him into a fit of laughter too.

VERY FUNNY!  Right.   Hey, I was seriously blocked up...stop your laughing and get serious would ya?

Ok...I stayed at the vet for 3 whole days while they had to get me all unplugged.  They even had to knock me out it was that serious.   I was able to come home late Saturday afternoon.  Mom fussed over me and apologized for not figuring stuff out.

I made her look at these photos she took of me this spring where I'm obviously assuming my belly up position, not hiding anything.  "Hey mom! Look here!  I'm a dude!"

Humans can be so dense.

I realize that my fur hid stuff, but I'm not as obvious as some of my furriends and family members as my neighbor Remington demonstrates below.

Now that I'm feeling better I do have some explaining to do to my furriend Fui.  Maybe he can fix me up with his sister!

Pee Ess...I love my name, and I even chose it myself.  My name will stay the same.  Dad reminded my mom that the drummer from the band Cream is named Ginger Baker, so it's cool for boys to be named Ginger.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Welcome back to my garden!  Seems we had our 2 days of 90 degree weather and now we're right back down in the 70's.  Sigh.  At least the warmer weather did wonders for my tomatoes!

We had bees buzzing in the buddliea.

Our pears are getting ready to eat.  If mom stops being lazy, perhaps she can dry some or make pear sauce.

My brother Figaro was busy trying to look handsome.  Apparently quite a few of you girl kitties...and mothers too (sheesh!!) want to be his girlfurriend.  Figgy is a bit overwhelmed with all of the attention.

I feel I must let you girls know exactly what you are getting into.  I mean when Figgy says he gets a wee bit dirty...::ahem:: LOOK AT THOSE PAWS!!!!

If you biggify the picture below you can see the garden stuff in his furrs!

I tell you he's a regular Pig Pen!

But he's a love...and I think he wants to be boyfriend girlfriend with everyone!!!

He's only 2...what does he know?   He'll have to figure this out on his own.

In the meantime he needs to help me in the yard!
