Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday In the Garden with Jonesie

::purr::

Welcome my friends and Garden Society members!  I'm still not getting much garden time.   The weather as been really cold and when it's not too cold it's pouring down rain.  Not that it stops Figaro or Ginger from their short visits outside.  I'm still growing back my thick gorgeous ruff of fur around my neck so I'm staying inside where it's nice and warm.  It's the smart thing to do.

I've been getting lots of lap time and more importantly, I've been providing more close snoopervision of my blog posts to my humble assistant.  We decided together that a nice way to get through this dreary week of weather is to think about what's to come and take a look back at last year in the garden.  It's too painful to think about summer just yet, but spring is just a couple of months away.

Did you know that early last February is when Figaro started helping me out in the yard?  My dad and I were planting a few fruit trees and he showed up to assist with the digging.  At the time we called him Freeta Bandeeta because of his mask and dad assumed he was a girl.  Ha!  Did he ever surprise us!  He was only 6 months old when this photo was taken.

By March of last year, I was basking in warm spring sunshine and snoozing in yummy smelling grass.  Could it be that in only 2 short months, I could be doing this again?

I can only look at pictures of last years apple blossoms and purr in anticipation.

Please leave a link and let me know what's happening in your garden.  Be sure to visit all the members of the Society of Feline Gardeners too!

Well,at least you have a good excuse for not being in the garden. I don't, apart from the laziness of my SS. The place is going to pots. Pun not intended. It should be the other way around.

:sigh:

Good to see Figaro from the 'FB' days.

Jonesie, like yours, our garden is waterlogged and cold. We are happy to report that our Japanese Maple tree has some nice looking buds forming however. Thanks for posting some photos from last Spring, it gives us hope!

Our garden needs work, but Mommy refuses to stay outside long enough to do anything useful.

Nice sunny days in the garden are good to look back on. It is raining again here and we haven't seen any shoots or buds yet. Maybe soon because it is milder now.

Yes, unfortunately it's sure not garden weather here either, but then again, we don't have a garden! Have a great day everyone!

Jonesie, what a nice thought that spring is only a couple of months away! We'll think of that as we look out into our yard and see nothing but snow.

Our Spring will be in a few months...more aptly named mud season. :-)

But still, we're looking forward to it! We're ready to have all this snow go away!

Jonesie, thanks for the reminder that by March we should see some real improvement in the weather, it won't take till July. Love the "big kitten" picture of Figaro/Freeta and you together.

I can hardly wait for Spring, when I can chase butterflies and lizards again!

We do not have a garden per se, but there are carpets of wildflowers in the meadow in late May through June.

Well, we wish we had a garden to work in. Meowm even sometimes wishes she had a garden, but it is a little hard to do in an apartment complex. So we watch yours and enjoy it. We hope that your weather improves soon!

Hi Jonesie! It is so funny your dad thought that Figaro was a girl! That is a funny name for him too! And oh we hope your weather gets nicer so you can go out and tend to the garden - hopefully it will get warm early this year!!

Dante knows just how you feel, Jonesie! He too is anticipating Spring. It's all you can do for now, isn't it?

At least it looks like you're getting lots more cuddles.

Figaro's on the LOLSpot today.

You are absolutely right about Spring not being far away, Jonesie. If it only wouldn't rain that much in the meantime. We especially liked the picture of you with your mommy. We were always curious what she looks like. ; ) She looks like a really nice mommy!
Have a good weekend, dear furriend. Let's keep our paws crossed we can do some garden work.

Hey Jonesie! My Mom said to tell you that she is sure you can get Renee's Garden Seeds at your local garden stores. Also she heard at her interview that Orchard Supply Hardware is a big customer, so if you have those up there you can get them there too. Renee's has a facebook page, so you could ask for locations in your zip code on their FB page probably. Mom's first day of work is Monday, she is very excited! Thanks for asking about the seeds. It's the perfect job for Mom, since she loves gardening.
