Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Meow!  This sure is a busy time in the garden.  I have to multitask to get it all done.  There are flowers blooming, baby vegetables growing and yard projects to snoopervise.

I'm very excited to see the little baby vegetables that mom is growing from seed.  I had to watch her put the seeds in the ground because my paws can't handle the itsy bitsy seeds.  Once they are in the ground it's my job to watch over them and keep them safe.
We have columbine growing near our poppies.  It's growing all over our yard in all sorts of colors!

You can see our rhododendron in bloom behind me as I make my way to the big construction project.

Dad has been working on the patio area for 2 years now.  I know he's kinda slow, but he does most of the work himself, with a bit of help from me and a strong friend or 2.  He had to dig up a pipe before he could put gravel down.
Now that the gravel is in, we have to wait for the stone to be delivered so I can help dad put them all in place.  One by one.
It's important to celebrate as you complete each phase of the project.  Rolling and entertaining your humans as they work in the yard helps keep them going.  I recommend doing this as often as possible.

Celebrating is always important! I think rolling in the dirt is great--but it would be better if you had a little ham too.

Hi Jonesie,

Yoo are such an inspirashun to me. I like to roll abowt owtside and be entertaining ~ but I hadn't realised how helpful it was to my beans. Now I shall do it more.

Our rhododendrons are still in bud ~ but abowt to break into bloom. I hope to show yoo later. But our Wysteria is nearly over already and lots of other flowers are in full bloom here.

Please tell yoor dad that I fink he is doing an awesome job ~ it's best to offer them encouragement or they go all hopeless and give up ~ then yoo get left wiv a pile of bricks and no catio!!!

Love Alfie Marshall xx

We agree that building ones own patio shows talent! We loved the garden and would adore rolling in it ourselves! Love Darcy and Bingley xx

Jonesie, Your rhody is BEAUTIFUL!! We hope ours blooms like that someday ('cept ours is white). And Momma was relieved to hear that your patio has been in progress for a couple of years. Sometimes she feels like things are going too slowly here but now she can relax as she's not alone.

Your garden looks great Jonesie! We have been having chilly weather which is not helping our veggies at all. That Columbine and the Rhody are gorgeous.
It's good that you keep your human's spirits up by rolling in the grass. That patio is ocming along nicely. xoxo

Your garden is looking fabulous again, Jonesie! It's going to be wonderful when the patio is finished. We're still finishing off the house (but we have to sell in the next 3 months!) so we know how your dad feels!

Jonsie!
You are a fabulous supervisor--you keep track of so many projects at one time.
The Baby is going to tell Daddy about the rolling. That's what she does when she bolts out the door...it's just encouragement for Daddy's gardening efforts. Preferably in the dry red dirt.

Ah, Jonesie, you never cease to amaze me with all your different gardening talents. Not only are you great at guarding the growing plants and flowers, but you do stonework and a side show, too!

Dante could certainly learn something from you. He has his paws full with fertilizing and chasing squirrels out of the garden.

Ooh, we got those columbines too. We gots Draganfly hybrids and Winky Dots. They are both nice.

Yer veggie garden looks great. Ours is kinda scatterred around. Flowers "here", veggies "there. And some in long rows. We think it is real unorganized, but TBT seems ta know where everything is and he seems happy...
