Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Welcome back to my garden.  This is kind of a fun time of year.  The weather is getting nicer but there is not a whole lot to do now that dad has planted his trees.  It will be a week or 2 before we'll start dealing with spring seeds and stuff like that.  I felt bad because my good pal and gardening buddy Alfie Marshall was a bit upset at me last week because he thought I forgot about him...seeing how I took my neighborcat Freeta under my paw as a gardening apprentice.  Alfie is still my number one trainee...but I can see he still has some work to do because his cheeky brother Milo told him some tall tales and so he missed going out in the garden today!  I may need to go whap Milo!

Before we get to the garden happenings I had to share my good news.  I entered the Mile Long Machine Kleen competition in the Cat-O-Lympics.  Tygana hosted this event.  I entered it as a biathlon competition because it was a combo move with twig whapping followed by a good long cleaning session.  I was thrilled to receive this participant trophy for entering.

But then I was jumping for joy to find out I actually won honorable mention!  I almost passed out because the trophy is bigger than me!  How cool is that?

After I got over myself, I headed back to the garden.  Since there is not much work to do this week, we just hung out.  Ginger, Freeta and me just like to enjoy the sun and the grass.

We were all just minding our own business when I noticed that something...or someone...had Freeta's attention.

Uh oh...here comes Cecilia!

There goes Freeta!

Please leave a link and let me know what's going on in your garden...or your house!

Congratulations on your biathalon success!

It's lovely to think of sun and warm weather and you HAVE to take a day now and then to just sit in the sun and enjoy it. . . isn't that the whole point of a garden?

We saw the Mama Kitty we think is Gracie's Mama Kitty walking through our yard yesterday, Jonesie. Neither the Mama Kitty nor Gracie seemed to recognize each other. That is not surprising since it has been over 3 months since Gracie was gotcha'd.

Mom is still thinking about how to deal with all these unaltered ferals. The Tom cat seems to be particularly aggressive. But Mom says she is trying to stay focused on Gandalf and Whitey right now. Gandalf had a setback last night. He marked our Nana's jacket which was hung on the back of a chair. Mom caught him just as he started. He's back in the office again. It is too bad, because he was doing so well. Whitey is in with him, just for company.

PS. Hi, Cory! xo

Congratulations on your awards. That is so good. And we love the pictures with all the nice green grass. We were wondering how do we join the Garden Club. We love gardening a lot. We dig up all of Mom's pots.

Zilch is happening in the soggy swamp that we call garden. It floods whenever we have any decent falls. SS despairs.

Concats on your award.

Hi Jonesie!
Looks like a beautiful day in the garden!!! It's not spring here in Minnesota yet, but the sun is shining and the birds are singing their songs!

Congratulations to everyone on the cool Olympic trophies and awards!!!

Thanks for coming by my blog today! Glogirly has been “busy” lately and has made it all but impossible for me to visit my friends and fans. But I’m hovering over her shoulder now. …it’s the least she can do to make up for my V-E-T visit.
