Happy Birthday Grete!

Today is my 4th birthday!  I'm such a happy woofie now.  Since I was gotcha'd  a little over 2 years ago, I've overcome so much.  When mom and dad started taking me to mom's bike races, I used to embarrass myself.  I barked at other dogs, I acted afraid of everything.  Now I'm confident and the only one embarrassing herself is my mom with mud all over her!

I love going places and meeting other people and other woofies.  I think for my birthday, besides new squeaky balls, what I want is more blog time.  Do you think Cory will give it to me?

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Hi!  I know you've been waiting all week to see my belly.  We've been adjusting to Figaro being in the house at night.  I admit I get a bit growlie and stuff but I will not say it's been overly dramatic.   Not at all.

Mom and dad brought home another cat tree.  Nigel and Jonesie and Cory all like to sit on it, and now it turns out Figaro likes it too.  I did the math.  4 cats, 2 prime sleeping locations.  Something had to be done.  Now there are 4 prime locations and 4 cats who are interested.  I never get up on it so I didn't really care.
What I cared about was the sneaky little Figaro getting into MY nip patch!   And for those of you who think he's a big boy, I'm still about twice his size so he better not mess with me.  I'm about 15 pounds give or take...ok give a half a pound or so.  Figaro weighed in at 8.1 pounds!  I can take him!
For the next couple of weeks we are being totally ignored!  Mom is obsessed with the Tour de France and spends hours and hours watching it...when she should be playing with us.  Cory got so fed up she teleported over to France because she thought that was the only way to get mom to notice her!

Momma and Mitten Monday

I like to keep watch while my daughter Cory sleeps.

Did you know that we are hardly ever called Ellie and Cory...well sometimes we are.  Mostly, I'm called Momma.  Cory is called Mitten, or Little Mitten.

Sometimes, if I'm in trouble I'm called Eleanor.  Cory is never in trouble even if she's naughty.  That's just the way it is around here.

Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Meow!  I'm so busy in the garden I can hardly keep up!  I'm so glad that I have Figaro to help, although he's still just a kitten and there is only so much he can do.  I was super upset to find that my apple tree lost a big branch!  It could have fallen on my furry little head!
At first I wanted to sit on the bench and pretend it didn't really happen.
But then I thought I needed to help my dad and point out to him what happened.  He needed me to purr for the branch and to consult on what to do next.
Dad got out his chainsaw, while I hid under a bush.  When he was done I think it looked pretty good.  I am sad for all the little baby apples that won't get to grow up, but at least there are still some on the tree.
Figaro did not help at all with the tree, but he did show up for some weeding.  He needs to stick with me if he's going to grow up to be a stellar garden cat.
You got to stick close to make sure your humans get all the weeds out.
You also can't turn your back on kittens.  All they want to do is play and chase butterflies.  Figaro seems so unconcerned about the weeds that are all around him.  Sigh. He has a lot to learn.
The best thing in the garden this week is our day lilies!  They are beautiful and they make me purrr.
