Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie and friends

The garden is getting to the point where I can help contribute to dinner. Let's see what we can put together today.
The basil is looking good. We also have a good patch of garlic going...

Yes, Ginger...we have salad greens and if you wouldn't squish the radishes, we could have some of those too.
You can't squish the food Ginger, you need to sit near it but not ON it!

Ok Bennette, you can help too. How about picking some nasturtiums for our salad. I bet there are kitties out there who don't know that if Ginger squishes your radish plants, you can use nasturtium blossoms in your salad because they taste spicy like radishes. They are pretty too.

Let's put it all together for mom and dad! Bon Appetite!
Pesto pasta and salad all from our garden! Ok, I didn't grow the noodles or the pine nuts...a girl can't do it all.
PS...not pictured...chick-hen. We don't want you to think us kitties are fegans!!!! Not even Cory.

Tuesday Tales

We had a whole lot of rainy and stormy weather over the weekend. My mom and dad looked out the window and they were all a buzz about something in the yard. I looked out the window to see what the fuss what about and this is what I saw...
A piece of the willow tree had snapped off! We were just happy that no kitties were under the tree at the time. We have a family of birdies living in the tree too, but they didn't seem to be harmed either.
As dad chopped up the tree branch he looked carefully for birdie nests.

Jonesie went out and inspected to make sure everything was moving along as planned. Our poor garden cart was under the branch when it fell so now it is all bent up.

Too bad the tree branch can't stay here because it makes a really nice place to sit as Jonesie demonstrates!

Momma Meezer Monday-A mothers concern

On Friday you all saw a shocking expose on my daughter Cory, caught in the act of stealing a prize spear of asparagus. This came at an unfortunate time because she was just selected to be a judge for "I Dare You All" #5. This is a very important position and my biggest concern is if she were to be convicted of thievery, she might be disbarred. Booted from the panel. The shame of it all. Turns out that a quick trial was held over the weekend, and she was acquitted, mostly because she did not harm the asparagus and she only wanted to play with it. No premeditation was involved. She is clear to be a judge. Whew!

What I don't understand is where Cory gets it...she's been called a "fegan"...a feline vegan. Could this be true? They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

I'm very proud of my little Cory. I will watch over her to make sure she is fair and impartial in her role as a judge.
