Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

So I thought I'd start out this week with my sweet woofie Grete.  As some of you may know, we do allow woofies into the Society.  However because of an incident with a horrible and ill behaved woofie who dug under my fence last summer and tried to send me to the Rainbow Bridge...I have my woofie Grete checking out and approving any woofies who attend our weekly gatherings.  She does this to keep me safe and to protect all my furriends and visitors.

She's a good woofie.  So, if you are a woofie, please check in with Grete before proceeding.

I've been sniffing up the ground and the garden beds.  Formal planting won't happen for a little while yet.

As you can see below, the moss is taking over the lawn.  Dad says he has to kill it...but I do love the way it feels under my paws.  I hope we keep it.

Figaro has been doing his best to help me out.  I know he tries so that makes me purrr.  Someday he'll be able to take on more responsibility in the garden.

The lawn is growing pretty fast with all the rain we've been having.   More to nibble on...that's what I say!

Our grass is getting all clumpy like that too--cause it isn't growing all that evenly.

We have no grass, no garden, nothing. But, we'll start posting when we can plant. Meanwhile, we're enjoying yours. Happy thursday! xoxo

Your garden is beginning to come to life after a long, dull winter. Good to see you on the job again.

Your lawn is so green. The only thing green in our lawn is a few weeds! Any chance you can send some of that luscious grass to Jenna and Sissy?

Jonesie, we can see that spring will be here soon at your place, and we love that you are out there getting things ready for planting. That Grete sure is a a good woofie, and Figaro is a fine helper. :)

Fenris and Tuiren are glad to see Grete, they are kinda tuckered out as they went for a beach walk and breakfast this morning (ahem) we are still trying to figure out why WE WERE NOT INVITED! The moss feels heavenly under our paws. ~Socks & Scylla

It is good that you have Grete checking the woofies who want to come in. We are glad Figaro tries to help you and we know you will train him well.
We have had heavy rain again all day, but we had almost 2 weeks of dry weather, so dad cut the lawn before the rain came. Our daffodils are flowering and the crocuses have finished, so we think Spring is here.

Nice to see green grass, we still have lots of snow on the ground this year.

We hear tell that moss likes shade and acidic soils. So add some lime...
