Today we are saying our goodbyes to one of our beloved friends, Jan, who was Meezer Momma to Sabrina, Simon and Sam. Jan left this world on November 27th and today is her memorial service. We are sorry we can't be there in furpurson.
We loved visiting their blog and mom loved visiting Jan on Facebook. They were among the first friends we met when we started blogging in 2008 and very special to us. We learned from them how wonderful a Meezer pile could be!
We will always think of Jan whenever we see Meezers snoozing together peacefully.
In 2009, the St. Louis Meezers moved to Rocky Mount. My mom was so excited for Jan and her family as we all followed their adventures. Jan would post photos like this one below, showing the view from their new home. This would make my mom dream of someday visiting Jan and the Meezers.
We are at a loss for words and meows at a time like this. It will take us a long time to absorb what has happened.
Jan, you were so loved and will be missed by so many.
That is such a beautiful tribute. We all send loving purrs to her family.
This is a really beautiful tribute. We love Jan so much and are struggling to accept she has gone.
Sending love and purrs to all family and friends who love Jan. xxx
We didn't know Jan very well, but have visited her blog a lot recently, and know that she was loved by so many people, who wished they could have met her in person.
The CB makes the miles between us disappear and we are left behind with regrets that those dreams will not ever be real now...
I brings me comfort to know that the Meezers will help Jan's husband through this saddest of times...a part of her that will be with him always.
May the kitties comfort Jan's husband during this time of such grief...it will be hard to find the strength to go on, but as I did when my husband died, it's one paw in front of the other, until it gets easier...Sending our sympathies their way...
So sorry to hear of Jan's passing. We regret that we did not know her, but she was clearly beloved and special...
What a beautiful memorial to Momma Jan. We are sad that has left this world. We too are trying to deal with the loss. She will be missed by many.
We did not know Jan, but she sounds like she was a lovely person.
That was a lovely tribute.
A beautiful tribute. We are so thankful that your human noticed the post on Facebook for it went right by ours without thinking--as she couldn't even believe Jan would be gone. We linked our Monday post as we just didn't think we could do another memorial. We hope that is okay (we didn't realize there was something set for today until yesterday)
This is such a beautiful tribute. We are so very sorry for the incredible loss her friends and family are trying to understand. We didn't know her well, but know how loved she was in our blogging community. We pray she is at peace.
We only knew Jan through her blog(s), which we always enjoyed, and not on facebook. We're glad the posts today remember her smiling. She was obviously loved by many.
This was a wonderful tribute to her. We only followed her blog, didn't have the opportunity to know her via other social media. Our human is still sick at heart, though, having wrestled with her own demons for so long. That Jan slipped through the cracks fills her and us with inexpressible sadness.
This is a lovely tribute to Jan. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
what a thoughtful celebration of her life and how much she enriched yours. I did not know her, but still, her passing is sad.
So sad. We are sending purrs of comfort to furriends and family.
What a beautiful tribute to Jan. We are still in shock about her death. Our thoughts and purrs are with her husband, Keith, and the Meezers.
The Cat Blogosphere lost someone really special - I am so sad I did not get to know her.
Your words are so lovely. Thank you for remembering our gentle friend. We'll miss Jan so very much.

Lovely post for Jan. We knew her from her blog and followed her FB pages. My husband loved and lived in the Ozarks where Jan moved. It was fun to see the place from her eyes. She is at peace now however hard it is for us to accept. I am glad to have known Jan.
I knew Jan from her blog and enjoyed her loving posts about the meezers. Although we were not well acquainted I am shaken and saddened that one of our own from the cat community has been lost.
