Welcome back to my garden. Today is all about the harvest! I know Ginger modestly told you about all he does to help mom. It's true, Ginger does like helping to pick the harvest.
Here is the basil that
Ginger mom picked in anticipation of making pesto. Mom also picks some parsley to add to the blend. She puts it all in a salad spinner and washes up the leaves and dries them off.
But in the middle of mom's peaceful preparations, I heard her scream!!! Yes, a fuzzy little pal of mine hitched a ride on one of the basil leaves and snuck inside the house. Poor baby got a bit of a bath.
Never fear, Jonesie to the rescue. I stood by and made sure my pal made it to safety. Out of the basil and away from the evil blade of the Cuisinart!
Just in the nick of time too.
I'm proud to say that I grew the basil, parsley and garlic! Mom will think of me and my green paw everytime she makes something with pesto. That makes me purr.
Oh I am sure she will. What wonderful stuff you have grown!
Yummy! Concats on your accomplishment!
Maybe I should not confess this, but I probably would have eaten your little pal!
Eek, bugs give me the willies! Glad he got out of there!
Well done, Jonesie! You need to protect your garden friends.
Purrs ... Rainbow
That fuzzy creature would have added a little protein to that pesto!!
My sister found a huge beetle in a can of green beans one time. We're glad your little fuzzy friend survived the salad spinner to live another day :)
That is cool, we bet homemade pesto taste super good. We are glad your pal made it safely back outside.
That looks absolutely amazing! The pesto, that is. I think a little bit of protein and a crunch would have provided some extra flavour and texture.
Glogirly is licking her chops right now.

Our Mom would have screamed too. Naughty caterpillar. That mixture sure looks good. Can we move in with you?? LOL. Take care.
I'm with Sparkle. I would have eaten him too. Love, Cody
Can we make pesto with catnip?
Also, what is it with women humans screaming in front of little critters?
Mom's mouth is watering at that pesto. NOT at the bug!

We love Basil! CUZ TBT puts it in everything but our food. So we love that HE loves it an that makes him happy. But WE don't have to eat that nasty stuff an that makes US happy.
I live pesto too, but not with caterpillars - LOL!!!
Hmmm wonder what flavor your little furiend would have added.
