Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Meow!  This was a crazy week in the garden.  First we had glorious spring-like weather.  The birdies were chirping and the daffodils were daffing!

I just love seeing the daffodils again.

Dad went a bit crazy cutting down the bamboo patch so he could make plant stakes.  I think he's got enough to last a lifetime, plus supply all our neighbors with all they need too.  They are too big for me to play with them. 

The really big news is that my birthday is coming up on Monday March 15th!  That's less than a week away.  I will be 10 years old.  Actually, it's my gotcha day.  I arrived 8 years ago in the middle of March.  Mom and dad guessed I was 2 years old at the time, so therefore, it is my gotchabirthday!   I don't know what mom has planned for me.  I'm hoping that a friend or 2 can teleport over to visit me in the garden.   If you are willing to come over, maybe we can share nip or something like that?  No matter what, mom is getting me ready by furminating me.  I'm not a huge fan of the furminator, but I humor my mom and let her get a bit of my floof for herself.

Now all I have to do is wait for the big day!

Hi, a few more things are coming up in the garden! This week we have snowdrops! It's still not all the colors of spring I've been waiting for, but if these guys are popping up, that means the grape hyacinth can't be far behind.

I'm going to say a little prayer that spring will be here soon My mom said it's only a little bit away.

You know what else is right around the corner? My gotcha day! My gotcha day is March 15th, which is on a Sunday. Since we don't know my actual birthday, we celebrate my birthday on my gotcha day. My mom thinks I'm going to be 9 years old. I was adopted in 2002! I'm hoping to have a garden party on Sunday if the weather is good enough. You are all invited!
