Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Welcome back to my garden!  One of the most exciting happenings of the past week was having my good furriend Chey stop by.  I was able to give her the full garden tour.

After warning her about Figaro, we strolled the grounds.

My artichokes are growing fast!  Do you know that Mom and Dad harvested one already and there are 10 more on the plant?  I have to purr extra hard to make sure they stay strong and healthy.

Our fragrant climbing rose had roses that almost reach the ground.  I can sniff them myself without an assist.

When I sit in my garden I know that I'm a part of something very special.

So beautiful! We would be interested to know how your peeps eat their artichokes. Mommy has never grown any. We've heard they're good grilled?

It was quite fun to explore your garden Jonesie. I can see the appeal. Now, if only my humans would get me a garden...

Your garden is GORGEOUS, Jonesy!

We're confused as to why climbing roses would want to reach the ground? We think it's great that you can have rose whiffies, though :)

Jonesie, please tell us your secret: How did you get the artichokes to fruit already? Mom bought two little plants 2 weeks ago and they are as diminuitive as can be. Are your plants perennial and survive the winter? We have so much to learn from you.

It's great to see a photo of you with flat Chey!

Are artichokes hard to grow? Our head peep hasn't tried, but loves to eat them steamed.

Your garden is lovely, how nice that Chey got to come for a visit. Those roses are so purrty, we could almost smell them through the screen.

Your garden is amazing! And we're impressed with those artichokes. "We" were just watching a cooking show earlier this week that featured them, how to peel them, etc. So it's cool to see some in your garden! (Not that our human would ever actually cook them, of course. LOL.)

The Human's colleague grows artichokes (she lives pretty far from San Francisco--out where it is way warmer--and she brought the Human a home-grown one last week. The Human said it was waaaaaay more delicious than the store-bought ones, especially the heart. Mmmmmmmmm. I don't think they're very interesting to the kitties though. Your Peeps should be growing more catnip and silvervine, MOL!
