No super secret password today. It's clear the password was leaked to someone who infiltrated my garden sanctuary and Society of Feline Gardeners Headquarters. For those of my furriends and Society Members showing up today, Grete woofie will be standing guard, sniffing everyone who shows up. She knows everyone in the CB so it will be safe.
Thank you to all who purred for me as my sister Ginger spread word of what happened to me late last week. I thought I wouldn't live to write another garden post. Thank Cod for my wonder woofie sister Grete for sounding the alarm!
I was minding my own business, tending to my garden when I saw this flash of white fur coming at me. I've never seen anything like it! I mean, I love my woofie sister Grete. She's a big girl and towers over me, but wouldn't harm me. This...this thing...that turned out to be a woofie was not much bigger than me! I'm sure it wanted to kill me.
Mom was screaming and tried to help me but she couldn't move fast enough. After the evil woofie ripped off my collar I took matters into my own paws and climbed up this tree. It wasn't my first choice but it was there. I heard mom below me. I could only hang on so long...and then I lost my grip. I said my purrayers...but landed directly in my moms arms. She hugged me tight and took me in the house. By this time the woofie had disappeared. Mom says I was panting...I couldn't breathe I was so scared.
I stayed inside the house, afraid to go out for days. Dad went door to door and located where the woofie lives and talked to the human that lives there. Once that was done, dad went to the store to buy stuff to plug up the holes where the evil woofie got under the fence...she lives in the house behind my big hedge.
Figaro snoopervised my dad while he chopped out part of the hedge so he could see what he was doing. Once the fence line was fixed, mom talked with me and said what they had done. I felt comfortable enough to go back to my garden...but I'm sticking closer to the house now. Figaro, Cecilia and I all checked out the fence.
We decided teamwork was best when watching for introoders, so here we are patrolling the yard together.
As a garden cat, I learned valuable lessons from this horrid experience.
Next time your humans try and clip your claws, fight to save them! My sharpies saved my life! You should also know where all of your good climbing trees are at all times. Any other high spots in the yard are also useful...like the top of the barbecue. Scope all of this out and make sure you have a plan.
May you always be safe.
We are so glad you are safe! We know that gardens are dangerous. Sometimes the wolfie from the corner or the one next door goes running through our yard.
Thankfully you have a gorgeous bodyguard! We're sending purrs and hope you're over the shock.
Just make sure that the barbeque isn't turned on! We're glad that you have ventured back out into your garden and that you have lots of bodyguards!
Jonesie, we are so glad you came through this ordeal uninjured. Grete is the best woofie ever! (plus we're glad your Mom caught you when you fell out of the tree!)
Jonesie, we can't imagine how scared you must have been. We are so glad you are starting to go back out into your garden - we know how much you love it. We think Grete deserves lots of treats for sounding the alarm.
Cody and Gracie
I am SO glad you are safe, Jonesie - that was WAY too close! Stupid, evil dog - not to mention their stupid owners who are too careless to keep it contained. At least your human fixed the fence so your garden is safe once again.
Jonesie, If I see that doggy I'm gonna give him wot for! How dare he attack yoo in yoor own garden? Fank goodness yoo are OK. Smoochies from,
Hi Jonesie, I came over to offer my support. I'm so glad yoo got saved by yoor mommy's arms. That woofie is NORTY!
Jonesie, we ae so glad you are safe, and that Mom was close enough to be able to be there both to catch you and also to scare the woofie enough for him to run away. Such good advice for us all about knowing the trees and other places for safety. May that woofie never ever find is way back into your yard again. May all of you be safe.
Oh Jonesie, we were so terribly sad when we read what had happened to you, but also very proud of Grete Woofie and your Mom (and the tree!) for saving you.
Those little JRTs can jump high so barbeques may not be high enough. They also dig so we trust your Dad will regularly patrol the fence for any signs of that.
Please stay safe always, all of you!
The Chans (and a gentle woof from gentle Tommy)
I'm still shaking when thing about what happens to you. I'm about to say about trim the claws when I first saw the tree you did climb up when that evil woofie was about to get you.
Jonesie, This is the main reason my mom never clipped my claws even I scratches her some times ( Not serious, we just play ) because I'm outdoor cat during the day, I need the sharp claws to save myself. My back door neigbours are woofies too !!! and I'm so glad, Your mom never clipped your claws and Thanks for Grete again !
Hugs to you and your mom
The link for my garden No#7 is my mistake, but I couldn't delete it.
My Garden post today is No.6
We cannot believe how much good luck you had and how well Grete guarded your yard. This sounds as if it was far too close. We cannot imagine what would have been if you had got hurt. Thanks Cod! We think we all got a reason to celebrate in your garden today. We'll come over and hang out with you, all the while purring for the anxiety to gradually disappear. So good that your dad figured out where the woofie lives, we're sure his owner got a stern talking to. And we really hope she apologised and makes up to you with a nice catnip plant. See you in a bit in your garden!
Siena & Chilli
Jonesie, we're so very glad you're safe--may you remain so! We're glad you've at least ventured back outside and agree that teamwork is the best with regard to security.
Grete's a wonderful woofie, but unfortunately not all are--some breeds instinctively have a higher prey drive. We hope that woofie's humans are keeping better control over her now.
Oops, we see we're still logged in under our mom's account...Of course this is Nicki and Derry from Fuzzy Tales!
Hello there! Me and my cat Charlie came over from Fuzzy Tales as mum Kim there says you were attacked most viciously!! We are so sorry!!
It must have been so so so scary for you!! Yay for your claws and the tree and all your amazing furry bodyguards!!!! We hope that woofie never ventures in your garden again!!! Be safe and be continue to be very brave!!! Take care
Oh, Jonesie, that was such a terrible thing that happened to you. We are so glad you are ok - and glad that you feel like venturing out still. In time you will be able to reclaim all of your garden.
oh my cod, that is some tale, how frightening and upsetting for you and everyone... hope those holes are covered up and you can be free to enjouy garden in safety! Love Helen, Darcy and Bingley xxx
Jonesie, what a terrifying experience! Some woofies can be so mean!! We are so glad you are safe and that your dad fixed your fence and that evil introoder will not be back!!
Oh Jonesie. What a terrifying tale. It made our hearts race and our mum's eyes go all bug like and wide. We're so very thankful that your mum, your sister and your tree were there, and you kept your wits about you.
Smooches to you sweet girl.

The Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
Wow. That's a scary experience! We get our claws clipped coz we are indoor only cats. Boomer, our outdoor brother has his nails intact since he stays outdoors.
Mummy reminds him all the time that NOT all dogs are like our sister, Whisky.
We're so glad you are safe.
Love, Cosmo and Ling
PS/ We came right over once Mr Puddy told us about your scary experience.
Oh my! It was so great that mommy was there to catch you when you couldnt hold on any longer! Keep your chin up, and be brave!!
Jonesie I'm so glad you are ok and that you are back outside again!! We have some scary woofies next door and they bit our human kid! :(
Oh Jonesie, I'm so excited to see you back in your garden. Teamwork works and that evil woofie shall not be back...or else!
Oh Jonesie! We are so glad you survived!!!!!! Thank goodness for trees and for Grete!!! Give her a big headbutt for us okay?
We are glad your fence is repaired and you feel comfy enough to go back outside.
I have had about the same experience with our neighbors woofie :(
My mom sreamed and ran after me and the dog too. By the time she saved me I was so frantic that I hardly could breath :(
Glad you made it from the woofie and that your dad fixed your frontline around your garden :)
Oh Jonesie we are so sorry you had to go through that scary attack by that mean woofie! We know there are scarry woffies out there - luckily there are lots of nice woofies out there too, like Grete, to help keep them from getting a totally bad name when this kind of thing happens. And we are glad your dad talked to the owners and fixed the fence so that the mean woofie won't be bothering you again - we are so relieved and glad that you are ok!
Such a terrible thing to have happen in your own garden, I'm breathless just thinking about it! Oh Jonesie I shudder to think what might have happened if Grete wasn't there. She saved you just as surly as your mum's arms did!!!
Hi, Jonesie, this it my first time at your blog; I found my way here from Fuzzy Tales. What a harrowing experience, you're a very lucky and resourceful cat! I am glad to hear that you are safe and still willing to go outside after this experience.
Jonsie, we are just SO happy you weren't harmed! Being assaulted in your own yard is awful. Thank Cod for your quick thinking, and Grete telling your Mom you were in trouble. Mommy almost cried thinking how bad this could have been.
We hope your Dad put the fear of a cat's wrath in that neighbor. THAT was horrible. I mean in your own garden in your own yard. But most impawtantly we are so glad that you are safe and it sounds to me like your Dad is making sure you will be completely safe in YOUR OWN yard! (we are so mad at that neighbor!!)
Oh Jonesie I have to admit I hoped Ginger had exaggerated (you know it's possible) but to hear you tell it I am just so grateful that you are safe sweetie!!
Oh noes an invader to your garden. We are glad you are OK and that your beans are working to keep the evil woofie out of your garden.
Oh dear! I didn't realize that the woofie got close enough to rip off your collar! That is very scary indeed, because next he may have bitten your neck!
I'm so glad your Mom was there in time to save you, and catch you from falling into those lethal woofie jaws.
You're very brave to venture out again so soon. It will likely take quite a while for you to feel completely safe again. I'm so happy that Grete is there to look after all you kitties.
Every woofie should be like Grete! Gentle and kind.
I'm glad you're OK again, Jonesie, and that you didn't get hurt physically.
drling I am SO SO SO sorry you went thru that with that evil dog. Bless you and I hope you will be able to put that behind you soon xoxoxoxox
What a scary thing. I'm sure glad you were rescued.
I'm so sorry you had that frightening experience, but glad that you didn't get seriously hurt. Some woofies just have no manners!!
We are sorry to hear abowt the nasty woofie!
Ahh, you poor cat. Thank goodness you managed to get to safety and help was at hand. Hope you're fully recovered from the ordeal.
Oh, precious Jonesie, we are so glad everything turned out ok and also that you feel safe enough to venture back out to your garden...We are very grateful for Grete's quick barking and your Mommy's catch...We love you, adorable girl and are just so happy you are safe...Have a great weekend and stay cool, sweet friends...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
