Introducing Madison

Madison was born on May 13, 1996 to a feral momma in our friend's backyard. He was the only kitten that survived. His momma passed away when he was 4 months old. Madison is the only cat I know where we really know his birthday. The rest of us have made up birthdays. He came to live with us about a month after his momma left to be his guardian angel. Her name was Beacon because she had a white tip on the end of her tail.

Madison lives in our workshop because living with us other kitties stresses him out. Probably because he never learned how to play with his litter mates when he was a baby. He didn't have any litter mates to play with. That makes me so sad. He does get to play with my sisters Jonesie, Cecilia and Ginger in our backyard. He likes them just fine as long as he doesn't have to share a litter box with them. Sharing the yard is no big deal.

I only get to visit with him through the door because my momma and I can't get the door to work for us. We can only go out on the deck and only when my mom is hovering over me.

I'm tired

I've been spending too much time on the computer. I'm really sleepy now. I need to save up my energy for the weekend.
PS. got word on little grey kitty. He's recovering well next door and rumor has it he's a cuddle bunny. Looks like he'll be my neighbor kitty. I'm going back to sleep now....zzzzz.

Introducing Jonesie

I should call this Whiner Wednesday. I've been at this for almost 2 months and I haven't introduced all of my family. My sisters and brother are feeling left out because I'm starting to meet some really cool friends out there (like "The Real Cats"...really cool since they also have 7 kitties and a dog!). I've only introduced some of my family. It's not my fault the other kitties around here haven't taken the time to learn computer skills.

Today I introduce my sister Jonesie, sometimes called Joni Jet. Different rules appy to Jonesie and the door opens and closes for her whenever she wants. I still don't understand why the door works for her and not for me. She thinks she is queen of the yard, probably because she is.

My mom told me that Jonesie came to them one cold winter. There were a couple of kitties hanging out in the backyard, but they didn't need a home. One day those 2 kitties showed my mom and dad this sad little kitty that had been hiding in the bushes. She had given up hope. Her fur was falling out in patches and she wasn't sure she wanted to eat anymore. She was brought into the house with the thought that my mom would find Jonesie a home. We never saw those other 2 kitties again. Spooky. It took 2 months to nurse Jonesie back to health. At one point my dad asked my mom if she found Jonesie a home. Yes, I have. Well, you know the rest...that was 6 years ago.

Jonesie lets my momma and me wash her a bit, but she only tolerates it. Jonesie's job is to go outside in the morning, patrol, then come in no later than dusk. She's irritated if someone doesn't go look for her in the evening. Jonesie is cool.

Busy Tuesday

I got myself locked in a closet today. I meant to do it....

Other than that, there is so much happening. Ms. Got Milk, aka G. Moo has now managed to get herself a real name, Bennette. Another post another day on how mom and dad came up with that one. We are now a family of 7 kitties and 1 noisy dog. Bennette keeps trying to hog lap time and the rest of us aren't sure what to do about it yet.

Here's Bennette by the piano, trying to look like she belongs. Yeah, whatever....

Grete is turning out to be camera shy, but we got a picture of her leg before she ran, even though she's not supposed to run.

As the weather gets yukky, it's all shaking out in the neighborhood...what kitties have homes, who has just been hanging out in our yard for the catnip. A boy kitty we call little grey doesn't have a place to go. Our next door friends caught him in a trap and my dad took him to the Dr. this morning for an operation. He's now sleeping it off next door...at least he won't have kittens that will compete for lap time in my house. I hope he has a forever home as my next door neighbor kitty.
