Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

 ::Meowwww::
For those of you who are new to the Society of Feline Gardeners, our super secret password is "Meowwww".  In the past we tried to make it more species neutral with 3 paw taps...but evil woofies managed to get in my yard so we had to change the password.  Woofies are still allowed, but they have to check in with my Grete first.
Mom was quite pleased with my work.  My raspberry bushes are starting to produce beautiful berries.  We are super happy about it since it's been dreary and rainy and we thought we might not get many.
Unfortunately, our cherry tree is not doing so good.  It's a fine and happy tree, but there are VERY few cherries on it.  Mom has picked about 10 cherries total.  This is devastating news to precious Cory who adores cherries and thinks of the tree as her toy tree.  With so few to eat, mom is not letting Cory play with any of them.
Grete zooms up and down the grape rows.  Do you notice anything funny about one of the rows?
With the cooler weather we have been having, we have little milk cartons around the base of our newer plants.  This keeps them warm and happy.  I think I would like it if there was still milk in those cartons, but you know I'll do anything for my plants.
Some of my seeds have been having trouble sprouting.  I asked Cecilia about it and she just looked away...I think she knows something...
Cecilia!!!!!  Stop that!  Rolling and squishing the seedlings is NOT helpful!!!

Sigh.

My human is salivating over those raspberries! Bummer about the cherries - they do make great toys. I am impressed with how industrious you are, Jonesie, making the best of a dreary season.

Where catnip planted?

Jeez, Jonesie. You just can't get good help these days. Your garden is looking good despite the fact that Cecilia is squishin' seeds.

You probably shouldn't worry too much about your cherry tree, Jonesie. We have one too and there are NO carries on it this year. But the harvest was very bountiful last year and the year before, so the tree is having a rest. It happens regularly.

#1 says she is envious of those yummy-looking raspberries!

Oh my, those berries look big an sweet! Too bad about the cherries; mebbe it was the Evil Skwerls. They have taken all but 2 of the 50+ unripe little green apples we had on the 2 trees this year!

Your cherries look pretty darn good to me! And those raspberries are to die for!

Yes, it seems you have a little hindrance rather than help when it comes to your seed planting.

I know your PURRseverance will triumph in end, Jonesie!

Nice raspberries! Unfortunately I'd be right next to Cecilia rolling and squishing!

You are doing a fine job Jonesie! Cecilia must have gotten into some nip before she headed for the garden.

Cherries are my absolute favourite so I'm sorry to hear that your tree isn't producing. You will have to make do with those BEAUTIFUL raspberries!!!! Jonesie you are so hard working looking after everything so well :-)

Raspberries, mum says they look delish. It has been a wonky year for growing stuff. Warm early, then too cool, not the right amount of rain.

Yum! Raspberries! And cherries! That's heaven on earth.

Thanks for coming to our party! We hope you enjoyed it. It was a lot more fun with you there!

Do you think the birdies might be stealing Cory's cherry toys? The Human says that's what's happening to her friend's blueberries.

You did an excellent job with the raspberries!

Thanks for coming to my birthday nipfest friends!

We're so late in visiting, sorry.

Our mom is salivating over those raspberries too, they look amazing. Sorry the cherry crop wasn't much, though.

Jonesie, you've all be very busy in your garden this past week!

BTW, we need some of your rain!

And while we're sure Grete wouldn't ever bite anyone, we'd kinda like it if she could put the bitey on the nasty boy next door. Or at least scare him into submission. Even though we're almost certain he wasn't serious, we still don't like him and we don't like his sister, though -- she's loud and disruptive too, though not mean.

Yum, raspberries. Well that's what TW says. We have our old garden in today's blog. Now we just have some basil and nip plants in the window.

Oh my GOODNESS! I didn't know JOnsie lived here! I kept coming to see beautiful Cory never knowing Jonsie lived here too! How totally COOL! I am thrilled!

Those cherries look superb! My momma loves them to the ends of the earth! Do your birdies eat your cherries?

How nice to MEET you. xoxoxoxo

Cold and a lot of rain here in Sweden too :(
Both me and mom wonder where the summer is ??
My mom almost droles over the Rasp berrys :)

Raspberries YUM! So sad about the cherries. You'll have to buy some, Cory. And paw some over, ok?

Alastriona, The Cats and Dogs said...

Sorry it took us so long to get by. Those Raspberries look delicious. Sorry about the Cherries, although our Mom for some reason doesn't like Cherries, she thinks the trees are pretty though. We are having a bumper crop of Blueberries.

Scylla has been using the flowerbeds as a litterbox and Socks has been eating the Cuphea. So I am having to shoulder the majority of the gardening chores. ~Fenris Wolf Reporting

All the cherries in our area (Cherry City) gotted wiped out by the bad weather this year. We are so sad too because we can hardly be Cherry City Kitties without them.

Can we join the Society of Feline Gardeners? We have some pretty things around here!
