Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Welcome back to my garden.  It's been a bit soggy this past week, so this casual garden stroll happened before the rains started.   This is how I look when I patrol.  Most of you know I have a large garden.  It's an acre!  A girl's paws can get tired covering all of it.

I flop and take a nap whenever I feel like it.  I've earned it!

Did you know that I did a really good deed?  Let me tell you about it.  We have cut back on how many veggies we plant because mom and dad can't possibly eat it all. We freeze some...dry some, but it ends up being too much.  So...I got an idea...and I meowed it to my mom.

Based on my meows, mom located a food bank very close to home.  On the day she found it, dad and I harvested 5 pounds of tomatoes.  I helped dad bag it up and he went and dropped it off!  How cool is that?  Mom said that next year we will plan on this so I can grow WHATEVER I WANT!  Any extra can be given to the food bank.  I can feed my community.

Oh that makes a garden kitty feel pawsome!

They even told me and dad the kinds of things that are popular like zucchini and carrots and things....purrrr.  My mom won't let me grow zucchini because it goes crazy...but now if it goes crazy we have people who need it and want it.

purrrrr

I'm already starting to plan for next year.

Tuxie Tuesday

Before the official start of fall...and the official first rainstorm of fall...we had some glorious sunshine.

I decided to partake of the last of the nip.

Excuse me...hope you don't mind if I don't look up...it is the LAST nip of the season.  Way different than the first nip of the season.

No time to waste...I know you'll understand...*chomp*

Mitten Monday

Fall has just begun.  To celebrate, mom and dad got new flannel sheets for the bed.  Mom washed them...and then when they were all toasty warm, she pulled them out of the dryer and made the bed.

Funny thing though...the bed is lumpier than normal

And my momma Ellie is missing...

I think I'll curl up with this momma sized lump and take a nap.  The lump seems to be purring.

zzzzzzzzzzz

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Sometimes a cat's gotta wonder.   Humans are so strange.  Woofies are so strange.

Me?  I'm as normal as they come.

So last week Grete posed with a cup of Starbucks...with her name on it.   Milkbone latte.

Right.

A ploy...a staged event. Grete was too gullible to know that she had been duped.  There was no milkbone latte in that cup.  It was empty!

All for a photo op.  Even the barista was in on it.

But did Grete realize the joke was on her?  Nope.

Apparently mom and dad took her to Petsmart and bought her 3 new squeaky balls!  No wonder she was smiling.

My tender ears will never be the same.

Momma Meezer Monday

Sometimes a momma has got to toss aside responsibility and just cut loose.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

It's been HOT this week!  Even so, you can tell fall is coming soon.  The days are getting shorter and I have to come inside the house WAY earlier.

Sigh.

For a garden cat that means I have to get all my work done in less time.

I had to meow at my mom to let her know that we had a mini 2nd crop of raspberries.  My dad and I discovered them together.

We put them in a bowl.

They were a nice surprise so late in the season.  Of course it made me purrrr.

One of our artichokes didn't get picked and so it flowered!  I think it's pretty.  Mom and dad got enough of them to eat so we'll just admire this one.

I promised you a photo of my new furriend and neighbor Mr. Blue.  Mom didn't get close, but was able to take this picture through the fence while Mr. Blue rested on his deck.

Grete and I still find plenty of time to play together.

With summer's end coming soon, a girl has got to appreciate the last beautiful and warm gardening days.

Funny Bunny Tuesday

I know that Jonesie grew these for us...but what am I supposed to do with them?

Oh Cory...don't these smell divine!  So purrfect in every way...

Chomp!

Mitten Monday

Summer is fading fast.  It won't be long before awesome sunbeams on the deck are a sweet memory.  I get precious little deck time as it is.  Something about me trying to jump off...I am falsely accused!

I'm happy just to roll.

And blow raspberries.

I love my deck.

Momma's floofy tail is photobombing!

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie and Grete

::Meowwww::

I'm sorry my mom and I were slacking last week.  I think that was the first Thursday in the Garden post that I've missed in like...forever!

I was doing a bit of this....

After all of my hard work, a girl has earned her naps, right?

We have tomatoes ripening all the time now.

We also have flowers blooming for a wee bit longer.

As you know, my Grete woofie is a hero for assisting mom and dad in rescuing our new furriend Layla.   That means she gets to be in all the posts this week.  That's alright by me.  My Grete is my bestie.  We love each other and enjoy our garden time.

It may look like Grete is blowing a raspberry but I know that she is blowing me kissies!
