Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

There is so much to do in the garden this time of year.  No time to waste, let's get on with our day!
Figaro is learning so much.  He's becoming quite the quality control expert where boo berries are concerned.

Here he is making some adjustments to the wires where the grapes are growing.  It's probably going to be a year before they need them, but he wants to make sure everything is ready.

I'm spending time with the herb garden because a certain someone took my favorite snoozing spot...
Yes, Ginger is snoopervising the table grapes, but don't let her fool you.  She was asleep right after mom took this photo and she stayed there ALL DAY!
Here is one of our mystery flowers.  Dad had to take a cutting to our nearby garden center so they could tell him what it was.  Not even I, Jonesie the MasterGardenCat knew what it was.  Not even Cory the MasterGooglerCat could figure it out either.  Turns out it is a Lysimachia Puntata.

This teensy flower below is a Scarlet Pimpernel.  We had to have help identifying it too!
Cory has been putting her paw down around here, so I'm including her today. While we are at work in the garden, she is making sure all is well in the house. She snoopervises us from the window.

Dad appreciates all I do to keep things in line in the garden.  I don't want anyone to think I am taken for granted.  I'm richly rewarded with all the belly rubs a garden cat could want.  There's nothing quite like a summer roll in the grass while getting your belly rubbed.

Bliss!

Tuxie Tuesday

Bennette:  Figaro, us tuxies have got to stick together.  Just a few more of us and we can take over the house...and the blog!

That's right, act casual, no one will suspect a thing!

Uh oh Momma, I think somethings up!

Monday is Mine

This blog is mine!  I started it!  I don't mind sharing with everyone, but now I'm hardly getting any face time.  That little upstart Figaro is butting his cute furry head into every post.
Even when I roll and look cute on the kitchen counter, there he is behind me...trying to upstage me.  Not even my momma Ellie can stop him.
What's a kitty to do?  I think I have to find a way to sneak back into my own blog.  Sigh.

Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie and Figaro

Meow!  Welcome furriends!  I'm taking it easy this week because I've got Figaro trained to help my dad in the garden this week.  Do you know how long it has been since I've been able to snooze under the grapes?  These are not wine grapes...those plants are still babies.  This is our big table grape plant.  It's my favorite place to sleep the summer away.
Come on in closer so you can see how wonderful and shady it is on warm summer days.
Before I paw it over to Figaro, below is our squash bed.  These are very happy squash plants and they are just starting to get blossoms and form baby squashies.  There are butternut and acorn squashes in this garden along with some garlic.
Figaro...over to you now...
I was on important mancat-in-training business in the garden.  Dad was weeding and I was drawn to the lawn clippings pile.
Dad stood by as I dug into it...
And then...well, ok...look away girls...a boy's gotta do what a boy's gotta do...
Ok, back to work now...where were we?

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

I'm a bit hissed off.  I was minding my own business in the garden on Saturday when I noticed a bit of confusion.  There was talk of taking some of us to the v-e-t.  Not that I had to go, I'm purrfectly fine thank you very much.  I knew that Cecilia had to go in.  I was sure of it.  Well Madison really had to go in to get a check up on his teeth, or what's left of his teeth.  Ellie had to go in because she was due for her annual check up and a vaccine.
But then Cecilia did this...she plays hard to get better than anyone I know and then the next thing you know I was being stuffed in a PTU.  Me!!!  Mom said it's because we are still getting microchips for everyone and that I still didn't have mine...so I had to go off to the dreaded v-e-t even though there is nothing wrong with me.  Now I have some sort of GPS device imbedded in my flesh.  Mom says this is a good thing, but I'm not sure.  Does this mean that Santa can track me and tell if I'm naughty or nice?  I mean Christmas isn't all that far away...this could spell trouble.  I'm sure of it.

You wouldn't believe the hollering that was going on in the car.  Madison, Ellie...and well uh...yeah I did contribute to the kitty chorus.  If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!  Cory was a bit upset that her momma was carried off, but there was a happy reunion when we all returned.

Monday at the Tour with Cory

Where's Lance?  Where's Fabian?  Where's Alberto? What do you mean today's stage of the Tour de France isn't on Le Mont Ventoux?  I have a great spot...I've got my Livestrong paw band...I'm ready.  You mean they won't be here today?  They're on another mountain?

Wha?

Formerly Feral Friday

Hi!  I don't get to post that often, but when I do, I like to stick my nose right in the camera!   I'm happy now that my Madison is feeling better.  He goes back in to the v-e-t on Saturday for a check up to make sure his mouth has completely healed up after getting so many teeth pulled out.  He has been much happier and he still eats more than his fair share of the kibble.  We got canned food for about a week and we loved it!

I heard a rumor that a couple of the rest of us are going in as well for check ups...if they think it's going to me they can just try and catch me!  Ha!

Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Dad was a bit lazy this past week.  I got impatient while he slept in the hammock and decided to garden on my own.
I found Figaro watching the corn grow.  I think he thought it was interesting.
I washed my paws and came very close to licking mom's toes.
When dad finally finished his nap, Grete and I helped him dig up some roots that were no longer needed.
I thanked Grete for helping us.  A second after this photo was taken, we actually kissed.  Grete is a good woofie!
Our cone flower started to bloom! We are very excited because we just planted them this spring.
Hope you enjoyed our time together in my garden!
