Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

What a week!

I have forgiven my woofie pal Grete for hijacking my Tuesday last week.

This past weekend when we sent our mom out to get cat food, the mission turned critical.  When mom was driving down the road, traffic slowed and she saw that people were slowing because there was an adorable Scottish Terrier crossing the road.  By himself.  No human with him.

Mom knew immediately that did not make any sense so she pulled over into a parking lot and asked the little woofie where the heck he was going.  He looked at mom and he had no good answer.  Mom asked him if she could pick him up and he said sure.  Mom quickly put him in her car, away from traffic so she could get her ::cough:: reading glasses out to read his tags.

This was one lucky woofie!  Not only was he sweet enough to let mom handle him, he had a collar and tags...with both his name and address.  His name was Bender so mom was able to address him by name.  He also had tags that said he was microchipped.

Well, with an address...it took mom all of 5 minutes to get this woofie back home to his bewildered owner who had started asking neighbors about his lost woofie.  Seems someone opened a gate and off he went!   This little guy had not only took off from safety of his home, he had left the neighborhood, crossed a busy street and was heading toward the next town!

So...disaster avoided.  Not only for the sweet woofie, but for me as well.  Could you imagine what would have happened if the woofie had no collar, no tags, no microchip?  He could have ended up here!  With me!

::shudder::

So let that be a lesson to all of us.  I know I wear a tag...and I was hissed off when mom had the v-e-t inject that  microchip in me...but now I understand that it could be my ticket home should I ever wander off my deck.

And the really good news is that mom remembered to carry on with her original mission and brought home our cat food.  I could have starved.

Thank Cod that dog had tags and a microhip, 'cause yeah, he would totally have wound up at your place if your human could not have found his home! I'm glad it ended well for everyone!

Your Mom is truly wonderful! We are all microchipped at this end, and Tommy also wears a tag with his name and our phone number on it.

Glad the food mission was also successfully completed! #1 orders a lot of our food online so it arrives here without even having to get the car out!

So happy the woofie was rescued so quickly and didn't get hurt, or have to invade your privacy.

Wow, Bender was a lucky woofie that your mom found him! We're glad he's with his human again, safe and sound.

And we think you're lucky, too, that Bender didn't end up at home with you. MOL!

Thanks for telling us this wonderful story, Ginger! Your Mom is a heroine!

Bender is so lucky that he ran into your Mom, or it could have been a very sad tale, indeed.

I'll bet Bender's owners will be more alert next time, and make sure the gate is locked tight.

Kudos to your Mom!
