Welcome back to my garden! Our weather has started to get a bit nicer, but we are still having way too much rain for my liking. I get out when I can, but I'm starting to get sick of muddy paws and soggy fur. It's May and I should be rolling in the sunbeams.
Some of the grape plants I helped plant last year didn't make it. Dad went to the garden center to get replacement grapes. I'm checking out each and every one of my plants to make sure they all make it this year.
We have 24 plants, some red and some white. Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Mom says we'll have to wait for several years before we get any grapes to make wine, but I'm a patient cat. As long as they name the wine after me!
Jonesie's Private Estate Reserve
It has a nice sound to it.
With my picture on the label of course.
I went to the local farmers market last weekend and visited with my good furriend Bonnie. Bonnie is an awesome gardener like me and she has a business, Celilo Gardens. We compared tips on growing tasty catnip and shared our hopes that the sun would come out and stop raining on us.
I'm thinking I need a sign like this for my garden posts!!!

We lost several of our plants too--although not grapes. I think they just go too soggy.
We are glad ya are gettin outside, cuz we arent. It has been rainin here for days. We hoe Iza gets a shot at the outside in a break between rain so she can post a garden tour. But we arent sure.

Too much rain is our complaint too, Jonesie. And below normal temps too. Where is the sun?
Jonesie, I wish one of the gardening kitties would grow some valerian! It's like wine for kitties!
Growing wine grapes sounds exciting. I wish you would send us some of your rain. It's been very dry here. We got a tiny bit tonight, but we need lots more.

We have grape vines, too, but none worth making wine with though Mom did make some JAM with some of our grapes last year...nope, not jelly, but jam...think and opaque...had quite a zing and Dad loved it, but not us!! Wow, your own wine label. That would be so pawsome, Jonesie. Even with all the rain, things are looking good! Our "crop" is moss right now, it's been so cool and rainy! :-P
Oh Jonesie we know what you mean about being soggy, the rain will just not stop here!!! I think having a wine named after you is fantastic with of course a close up pic of your beautiful self on the label :-)

Sorry to hear that you lost a lot of your grape plants, but now you get to help the new ones grow -- and purrhaps become even more famous in the PURRocess!
Just make sure they're not sour grapes -- nobody like those!
Even when you're a Master Gardener, there are always new things to learn -- it's a continuing process. This is a good lesson for all those other feline gardeners out there to learn! You're a wonderful example, Jonesie!
