::purr::
Hi there! I'm still not out in my garden. It's been non-stop soggy rain around here. The weatherperson says that we have 3 inches more than the average rainfall for the month and the month is not yet over! Sigh. Purrfect weather for a snooze with a good garden book. This one, by Ann Lovejoy is one of mom's favorites because it's about year-round gardening in the Pacific Northwest. I like it too.
Grete woofie is making sure all is well in the garden. She doesn't much care if it's muddy as long as it's not pouring. When there is a break in the rain she wants to be out there with her ball.
Here are my raspberry plants asleep for the winter. The beds have been cleaned out and the stalks have been trimmed.
Figaro still insists on going out, but doesn't stay there for long. He refused to sit still for mom to take a picture because it was so damp and muddy. He was on his way back to the house where he got his muddy paws wiped down.
This is just not the best gardening weather, so I think I'll just show you how I spent my Christmas morning, among the boxes and bows...yes, yours truly enjoying a nice comfy nap. For those of you who know I've been going back and forth to the v-e-t to get my itches under control, apparently this is the worst flea season our v-e-t has ever seen. I wasn't even the only cat having lots of trouble...our v-e-t saw several like me this past week. Mom has sprayed the house and carpet and she has us all on Frontline...I'm just super sensitive and all it takes is one little bite and I react. So I've been on antibiotics for my skin and prednisone pills. I'm getting better but it's a slow process and an epic battle with the nasty fleas.

We are enjoying the seed catalogs we have received the past few days. It gets us ecited for the year.
It wont be long before it is time to start the broccoli seeds! And the others will follow!
Jonesie, believe it or not I still enjoy your garden !

I hate fleas too - and I hate the treatment! Getting that stuff stuck between my shoulders is almost worse than having the fleas!
Aww, I can't wait till your garden is back to it's splendor, and you're roaming through it my dear.
Your garden looks in great shape as it rests up for Spring. I hope that you soon recover from those nasty fleas.
Figaro is becoming really floofy! It does sound like an epic batttle with the fleas, Jonesie. What a horror. Both Chilli and me are purring for you. In the meantime enjoy that book. It sounds like a very good read and mom loves the authors name!
Many purrs,
Siena & Chilli
Hi Jonesie,

I'm sorry yoo've not been well. If I could get to them fleas I'D STOMP ON 'EM! They are VERY norty upsetting yoo like that.
We hadta have Frontline this week too ~ it was a precaution 'cos I kept scratching. We both had it applied ~ 'cos mom said if one has 'em, usually the other has 'em! So Milo hadta have it too (tee hee).
I can't wait for Spring, :sigh:
Love Alfie xx
We are so sorry to hear about the flea troubles, but we know your Mom will prevail. That's what Moms do.
We've got a stack of seed catalogs we need to look at. I think snuggle and read time is upon us!
Don't be too fretful about your flea situation...your Mom will get it under control for you. We have to have the Frontline stuffs too but it's well worth it!
We think that your garden is awesome! MOL
Hey there Jonesie girl. We're glad that your itches are continuing to feel better. Our last flea season was really bad over here, too. They are horrible little things.
Jonesie, we're sorry your still having problems with those nasty ol' fleas. And we hope all that rain stops before you all float away!!
Well, Jonesie -- at least with all this rain you're having, it will help your garden come Spring! Grete and Figaro sure are brave to go out in the muck, but I'll bet your Mom really has to clean their paws well afterwards.
Sorry to hear you've still got the itchies! Hope that situation will clear up soon with all the measures your beans have taken.
Have a nice nap, sweetie and dream of your garden in nicer weather!
Those pesky little fleas are such a giant nuisance!!! We do hope the weather will improve soon and you will be able to go out into your garden again, Jonesie. In the meantime, it's nice that you have Grete and Figaro to make sure that things are neat and tidy!
Purrs,
The Chans
I am sorry to hear about your skin problem, Jonesie! I know how uncomfortable it is...and daily pills...YUCK! I am sending big special purrs to you that both of our skin itchies go away!

Sorry you can't get out into the garden. It's winter where we live so our garden has 2 feet of snow covering it.
Winter is a good time to plan for the new seasons! Stay warm and dry and we hope none of our ice migrated down that way.
Our vet told us Frontline isn't very good for fleas. That is why we use Advantage Multi.
We have gotten into more ticks this year then ever before. We thinks this must be good insect weather. We had more dragonflies, butterflies, creepy crawlies and assorted other insects then we have ever had.
Teleport over and enjoy our 70 degree sunny weather. ~AFSS
Grete, would you like to come play ball with me? I'll even share my ham bone with you. ~Fenris
I'm glad your itchies are getting somewhat under control, those darn feas are no fun at all!
Jonesie, I do hope you can win the battle against your flea allergy. It doesn't sound like fun.
Only about 3 more months till spring! Winter is our least favorite season, but it can't last forever. I haven't done a gardening post in several weeks, but maybe Mom can get some pictures of things going on on our deck once they get home. Squirrels and birds and such, because my dad likes to throw seed on the deck for them in the snow.
Hi Jonesie! We are sorry it is so soggy and wet there and you can't go in the garden. And we are sorry the fleas are so bad too and making you itchy! We hope htey are gone soon and you will feel better - we are sending you lots of purrs!
And it is great that you can have Grete and Figaro keep an eye on things outside while you stay in - that is a smart way to work!
Awww Jonesie, we are so sorry you are still fighting the itchy skin. Why do fleas even have to exist? Seriously, do they serve any GOOD purpose? We will be purring for you to get better and for all those fleas to go away!
Jonsie, we have had almost our ENTIRE annual rainfall this month! We are growing webbed toes, we're sure of it. Mommy is all crabilated from not seeing the Sun.
You should come and visit us...no fleas here. It's too dry, though of course that may be different if the rain keeps up!
Oh no! You just reminded mum that we have to be Frontlined on Saturday. We are glad your itchies are starting to get better. Our garden is all muddy too where the ice and snow has thawed and mum keeps wiping our feet when we come in, then we turn around and go out again.
Hi Grete -
It looks like fun fur woo!

Good weather for snoozing, reading and snuggling.
Too bad you are still confined to your house!
Rain has cleared up and it's very hot in my garden now.
Sorry sweetie you could come here, we are flea free.
We like to see Grete having fun. And you look all furry purry!
Happy New Year to you and your family. May 2011 be everything you wish for.
