Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Welcome back to my garden!  Don't forget the super secret password!

Shhhh....say it softly ::meow::

The air smells so good right now.  The air is warm and full of the scent of flowers.  I just love the buddleia and so do the butterflies.
The Japanese Anemone is blooming too.  We just love it!  I think it's funny to try and get my mom to say anemone 3 times really fast. It makes me roll in the grass meowlauging so hard it hurts!

I had a bit of snoopervision to do.  Ginger and Figaro were supposed to be helping, then I found them doing belly exposure lessons.  Good help is hard to find.
Alfie wanted me to show him the Scarlet Pimpernel up close.  The weensy little blooms only open up during the day and then close up in the later afternoon.  You can see how itty bitty the flowers are here.

Figaro only seems to be talented at watching the corn grow.  It's doing quite well so he must be doing it right.
On Monday morning this week the sun came up in the sky and it was red!  Mom was a bit slow in grabbing her camera but you can still kind of see it.  It was awesome.

Hope you find great things in your garden this week!

Please leave a link.

Hey!! Your garden could be our garden...we have lots of japanese anemone blooming, too!! (And your Mom's fingers look just like our Mom's fingers...ooo...that is scarey...is Mom two-timing us??). BUT, our buddleia (how do you spell that?) hasn't opened yet and we don't have any corn, so maybe your garden couldn't be our garden, but it is funny to know that the same things grow in both places...even the scarlet pimpernel...which Mom thinks is a weed and she pulls up!! Oops! Purrs and happy gardening! Lautrec and Tiny

Yes, this was a wonderful garden tour. Lovely sniffing, flowers, I love the perspective shot showing you watching Ginger and Figaro doing belly exposure lessons!

Figaro has a floofy tail! And now we know the password - such fun.

Hi Jonesie,

The Scarlet Pimpernel is lovely. I had no idea it was so small. Fanks for showing me.

I hadta larf at Ginger and Figaro doing belly exposure lessons ~ they are as norty as Milo! He's always messing around time-wasting when I need him to help. His current favourite time-wasting activity is sitting looking at the hedge for hours on end ~ 'cos he is convinced he can hear summat inside it (like a bird).

And the red sun pic is awesome!

Love Alfie xx

Hi Jonesie!

We love your buddleia! Ours kinda fizzled on account of the hotness here. But your garden looks great. We think you should promote Figaro to supervisor of corn.

Wow, all your hard work is paying off, your garden is looking amazing!!

We love the smells in the air at this time of year. We must say that the corn is growing really well, maybe Figaro has green paws afterall.

What a great picture of the red sun. There's a saying here, red sky at night Shepherd's delight, red sky at morning shepherd's warning

It's too cold to go out in my garden so I'll enjoy yours instead.

We have been enjoying some lovely butterflies on our large lavender bush. A couple of days ago, there was a Scarce Swallotwail, a Queen of Spain Fritillary and a Comma all at the same time!

Sorry about the help, Jonesie!

We love Figaro's corn-watching ability! He sure looks serious about it.

Your garden is lovely, Jonesie!

Everything looks beautiful! Your Japanese anemone is so pretty - would love to grow those some time. And we have buddleia blooming now too.

P.S. Our mom says to say she is very envious of your corn! She loves fresh corn.

Hi Jonesie!

There's nothing happening in our garden this week, so we're not doing a post, but oh, YOUR garden looks lovely! Goes to show what all that care and attention can do. :-)

Cory, looks like Ginger and Figaro are not being very helpful this week. The garden looks wonderful. We are impressed with the corn. Wonder if we could find a spot for some here next season? That red sun is very pretty, wonder what caused it? We want to thank you (and Alfie) for starting the Feline Garden society. Thursday is our favorite day to blog because of it!

OMC! Ginger and Figaro were really goofing off. It's a wonder your garden is doing so well with that kind of "help."

CCL Wendy said...

You are very knowledgeable about the types and names of flowers, Jonesie -- certainly much more than I am.

It seems your "helpurrs" in the garden don't really help -- they just like to roll around and play.

Maybe the corn is doing so well because Figaro fertilized it! We saw a picture of him doing something like that earlier.

Kudos to you, Jonesie! You're the tops!

Jonesie the garden is looking beautiful as always. Hopefully you were able to get Ginger and Figaro to straighten up and get back to work though!

I have never seen a Scarlet Pimpernel before. It is REALLY tiny. Thanks for sharing it. I can't blame Ginger and Figaro for choosing the garden as the place to hold their belly exposure lessons. It is lovely.

shhhhhh "meow" can I come in now? What a pretty garden! Mommy took some good pictures of butterflies in our garden this weekend. She let some mint overgrow and bloom and they love it. We also have a butterfly garden. If mommy will learn how to use her camera right we'd get better pictures of our caterpillers.
You have such a lovely garden and are so lucky to be able to wander it. I'm not allowed outside cause of my FIV and with the windows closed against the nasty heat, I'm missing the nice smells too. sigh.
