Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

Meow!  I've got my springtime gardening outfit on and I'm ready for a big week in the garden.  This time of year is super busy because there is so much to snoopervise!
It was time for the squash plants to go in the ground.  Dad dug a brand new bed for them this year.  I had to make sure the plants were placed just so.
Mom and dad planted 6 eggplants and 7 pepper plants.  The peppers are red, yellow, orange and green.  Remember last year when I was convinced by Ginger they wouldn't turn color?  Now I know better.
I had to help dad with the wire on one of our grape plants.  These are table grapes, not the wine grapes we just planted.
But then I realized that I had to stop and smell the flowers.
The first poppy popped!
The iris is starting to bloom.

And dad always makes sure he takes a second to thank me for all of my hard work snoopervising him.
The sticks in my fur make it all worthwhile!
Pee Ess...I did forgive Bennette for throwing a punch at me.  Please leave a link and let me know what's happening with you!

Jonsie, Sweet Pea is dying for a pair of those garden clogs...not like she goes out or that it even rains in Vegas...she's just a prissy girl who likes shoes!
You're getting that garden into shape! We're going to try a garden post next week.

Love the new outfit! Your garden is so pretty. We've got squashes too, but only 3, and our bed isn't NEARLY as neat as yours.

Your little pink gardening outfit is "to die for", Jonesie! You do such a great job snoopervising, and this year is no different. However, I'm glad to see that you realize it's important to stop and enjoy the flowers and the fruits of your lapurr.

Forgiveness is also a very good thing.

Our Moms are planting tomatoes today, three different varieties. (we can't remember all the names, but one of them is called Coyote.) They have to go get some gopher wire first, we have a gopher who has been nomming on everything!

LOVE your iris, it's gorgeous!

Your gardening outfit is so cute and the shoes?!? OMC!!! They are wonderful! Mom's going to turn the soil in our little tiny garden area this weekend, on Mother's Day. We'll take some photos of our garden area, but we can't plant anything before Memorial Day, as mom did last year and the freeze killed them. She knows better!

Jonesie, your garden is coming along beautifully!! You outfit is the best!!

Question~ I see you have wide raised beds. How do you find those are for weeding? We are redoing our veggie garden layout and looking at larger beds. We have skinny ones now, about 3 feet across. The PM is also a shorty bean of 5'3.

Your iris and poppy are lovely. Ours have the leaves out.
