Meow! January in the garden can be a very wonderful time. Dad cleared out most of the leaves and the garden beds are almost all cleared out. I still have a bit of snoopervising to do in the corn bed.
I use this time of year to reflect on what we did in the garden in 2009 and look forward to what we will plant in 2010. I'm pretty sure we will move plants around and where we planted squash, there will be tomatoes and the corn will also move to a new spot. Gotta figure all that stuff out. Mom and dad rely on me to let them know when I've found the purrfect spot for each plant. I don't know how they'd figure it out without me. They promised me even more garden beds and more food production to be snoopervised! I can hardly wait.
I like where we planted the new herb garden. I was worried when dad tore out the old bed, but he used the material from the old bed to make the new bed so I was pleased with it. Our sage plant is still producing lots of little leaves.
I went into the greenhouse to say goodbye to my little lettuce and Swiss chard seedlings. When we got the super freezing weather I was sure they were gonners. We don't have a heater in the greenhouse so the temperatures in the 20's were killer.
Or so I thought. Do I have a green paw or what?
Guess what? Mom and dad have started a new garden and food blog of their very own. I'm sure it won't be as interesting as Cory's, but they said they will likely link to MY posts. I am a garden cat you know.

You truly have the green paw, Master Gardener Jonesie. Our new sage plant froze. Those salad seedlings look oh so yummy!
Psssst, the new bloggie looks great, but we were too shy to comment. We hope at least you guys will still get the cheddar. ; ) We will surely be dropping by again and mom will add it to the blogroll of her own blog.
I think that garden always does so well because you are supervising the whole thing!
Wow Jonesie! You do have a green paw!! We hope those little plants do well...with you snoopervising them, we know they will! We'll have our mom check out the new blog too!

We love reading all about your garden and all you do fro it, Jonesie. Right now, we can't even see ours as it is completely under snow!
We put a heater in our greenhouse when it got really cold so everything in there is fine. Our pond actually froze. That hasn't happened in a long time.
We will send Mom over to check out your beans blog, we knows that your gardening post are the best though. ~SSA

That is so awesome about your little seedlings! And very good Garden Surveying going on there.
Wow that is great that the seedlings are doing ok. I am impressed that they survived - it just goes to show your excellent skills!
We shall have a look at your bean's blog right away!
We know there is no way they could do it without you, Jonesie. You do a pawsome job.
Hey Jonesie!
There was never a doubt that you are and will always be the brains behind the garden operation.

Love the garden! We are envious of your greenhouse. We just planted our "green manure" crop of mustard. Our weather has been very strange here on the central coast of California, not enough rain and unseasonably warm. We are putting in a couple new raised beds this Spring.
Purrs from your gardening friends!
You did a Purrfect job of helping ...
Hi, Jonesie! We are looking forward to reading your new blog. We left a few comments. One comment was about having trouble reading the comment form so that we could comment. It is messed up, at least for us.
PS. Hi, Cory! xo
Jonesie, your green paw is amazing!!!!!
I would say that you have green paws for sure! There is a lot of planning on next year's harvest and you can never start too early on that. I will be interested in finding out what all you will put in the ground in the spring time.
You are such an excellent gardener! We are always very impressed on Thursdays. And that pic in the greenhouse is so very purrfectly snoopervisory.
This cold weather is just a bummer all around!
You really are an excellent gardener to get your seedlings to survive all the very cold weather.
You have a very green paw. We wish our mom had a green thumb. She says she has a black one.
Wow! Congrats on the new blog, Jonesie! You really deserve your own space because you've sure got lots to say -- all year 'round. And yes, you have a very green paw. Quite amazing!
By the way, Grete and Bennette are on the LOLSpot today.
Our mewmie enjoyed your pawrents new blog, and we always enjoy wandering around your garden with you!
You certainly have a green paw... and are the feline version of Percy Thrower. Good for you. Have checked out food blog. Great. Helen, Darcy & Bingley
