Storytime Monday

Our good friends, The Island Cats sent us a fabulous book. It's called "Three Stories You Can Read to Your Cat", by Sara Swan Miller. Sharing this book with other cats is the idea of Nofuratu who started a book club called "The Litteracy Box". The goal is to circulate this book around the world so that other cats can share in the experience of having this book read to them by their humans. It took a long time for mom and dad to find the right time to read to us, but on Sunday morning when the weather was stormy we all sat by the fire and dad started to read.
The sound of his voice made me sleepy, but I swear I did not miss a word. He read all three stories. I purred. Ellie joined us and she loved the stories too. Cory and Jonesie were also in the room listening and enjoying story time. We liked all three stories but "The Yummy Bug" made us all laugh. Dad changed the words in the story "The Rainy Day" because it was super windy the morning he read it to us, so it became "The Windy Day"...dad always has to improvise.
The goal is to circulate this book around the world. So far the book has traveled to the US and Canada. I think it's time it traveled to another country! So if you are interested in receiving this book so your human can read it to you, please leave a comment. We'll randomly select a cat family to receive it. All you have to promise to do is post a review and then send it along to someone else. We hope you enjoy this book as much as we did.

What a fun idea! We look forward to finding out who gets it next - we are the US, so it is not too exciting to send it to us.

That was lovely. I wonder if I could con the Music Man into reading to us. So nice that it'll reach Tama-Chan, reading to kittens when they are young is furry important!

We have heard of this book, seems to be wonderful!
But it's true, here in Brazil has no bookstore that sells this book, it's sad :(

Oh that is so great that your dad read to you. I have tried to read to my kitties but they all just wander off. Maybe it is just that I didn't pick the right stories.

What a nice present and so nice your mom could read it to you. Maybe each night from now on you will get the stories read to you until you snuggle down to sleep.

How fun! Mom has never read to us, but we do like to sit in her lap while we listen to the piano or a CD. And snuggling for movies, of course!

PS. Hi, Cory! xo

It sounds like a very interesting book -- it certainly kept your kitties interest. I live in Canada, though, and you want to send it overseas somewhere. So, we can wait.

We think that's a great idea! Our Mom never reads to us. She sings to us sometimes but that just scares us.

What a great idea! For as much as Glogirly reads to me, I sometimes wonder if she even knows HOW to read! The book looks like it has some beautiful illustrations!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, Cory! Your sweet comment made Glogirly smile.
