Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Welcome back to my garden.  This is kind of a fun time of year.  The weather is getting nicer but there is not a whole lot to do now that dad has planted his trees.  It will be a week or 2 before we'll start dealing with spring seeds and stuff like that.  I felt bad because my good pal and gardening buddy Alfie Marshall was a bit upset at me last week because he thought I forgot about him...seeing how I took my neighborcat Freeta under my paw as a gardening apprentice.  Alfie is still my number one trainee...but I can see he still has some work to do because his cheeky brother Milo told him some tall tales and so he missed going out in the garden today!  I may need to go whap Milo!

Before we get to the garden happenings I had to share my good news.  I entered the Mile Long Machine Kleen competition in the Cat-O-Lympics.  Tygana hosted this event.  I entered it as a biathlon competition because it was a combo move with twig whapping followed by a good long cleaning session.  I was thrilled to receive this participant trophy for entering.

But then I was jumping for joy to find out I actually won honorable mention!  I almost passed out because the trophy is bigger than me!  How cool is that?

After I got over myself, I headed back to the garden.  Since there is not much work to do this week, we just hung out.  Ginger, Freeta and me just like to enjoy the sun and the grass.

We were all just minding our own business when I noticed that something...or someone...had Freeta's attention.

Uh oh...here comes Cecilia!

There goes Freeta!

Please leave a link and let me know what's going on in your garden...or your house!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Today you get to see my belly, but with a twist.  Mom was playing with photoshop again.  As if my original belly shot wasn't good enough, she felt she needed to alter it.  Whatever.

I just wanted to point out that Jonesie is not the only one who has befriended our neighborcat "Freeta".  She likes me too...and I don't make her work in the garden.  I think that means she likes me best.  Here we are hanging out  in the messy part of the yard. Yup...no gardening happening here today!  Just the way I like it.

And a little secret?  Well for those of you who have been commenting on our lovely green "grass", I've got news for you.  Jonesie has a green paw alright, but the green you see is moss, not grass!  Ok, there is a bit of grass hanging on for dear life, but the moss is growing thick under our paws.

The biggest news of the day is that today is our 500th post!

Monday Weekend in Review

Grete here!  Finally! I've been restricted to very short leash walks, which means I don't get to walk much at all.  At my last visit to the v-e-t, he said I should start to increase my walking time.  I'm still not released to cut loose in the yard or at the dog park, but I'll take what I can get.  For those of you who don't know, I got roughed up at the dog park several weeks ago and my shoulder has been sore.

On Sunday, mom and I walked along a trail by the creek.  There are duckies in the water behind me.  Duckies make me smile.

I thought it would be cool to wink at mom to thank her for going on the walk with me.

When I got home, it was time for breakfast.  Cory whippersnapper likes to join me so I don't have to eat alone.  I don't mind sharing.
