Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

I don't know about you, but we've been having tons of rain.  The weatherman said it's been the 3rd soggiest May ever!  You know what that means...

Yes!  Time to put on my pink slug stompers!

Even though it's been raining, the flowers are still blooming.  Our red poppies are so lovely.  We have only a  few of them.  Most of our poppies are pinky peach.

Mom and dad are still swooning over the artichokes I'm growing for them.  So far they have harvested 5 of them.  At last count there are 13 more growing, with little weensy new ones showing up all the time.

I purrsonnally don't see what they are so excited about.

As usual my helpers are not so helpful.  Figgy was way more interested in the birdies flying over his head.  And Ginger...well Ginger is Ginger.

They missed out on a special friend that came to visit me.  Isn't he beautiful?  Or she...I wasn't sure.

As you can see...the leaves above me have raindrops on them...we had so much wind and rain on Memorial Day that a big section of our filbert tree broke off.  The squirrels are going to be upset.  Mom got some pictures of it...but she told me they are still in the camera so I will have to wait until next week to show you.  I will have a purr with the squirrels so they know we will do what we can to save the rest of the tree.

Raindrops are not all bad...sometimes they are awesome because they bring rainbows.

Rainbows make me purr.

We were not able to do an in the garden this week because we refused to go out and get our toes all muddly, cause that's what we have right now. Mama says it's good for the new plants though

Wow, my human wishes we could have some of that rain down here! It has been way too dry for too long. I have to admit, though, I like the abundance of sun puddles.

It looks like that rain certainly made everything grow beautifully. We love the photo of the rainbow. We heard that there's a cat at the end of the rainbow. Do you think so?

Jonesie, you've made us realize that rain isn't so bad. That rainbow is beautiful!

Jonesie, you look so purrty sitting out there in the grass!

Yes, we have been having extra rains here. We had tons the other day and we can see new white stuff in our mountains. Also, Meowm had a little lake in her parking place and didn't know if she would be able to get in and out of the box on wheels without getting wet...she managed.

It thundered a bit last night and we all ran for a hiding spot. Good thing we have Meowm to protect us!

We have had so much rain here also. Mum says she could probably grow rice as our garden has been more like a paddy field. It is supposed to be dry for the next 5 days. Hmmm, we'll see.

Mom says we've been cool and overcast, rain is supposed to start tonight. We, on the other hand, are warm and dry 'cuz we don't go outside furry often.

Hope the sun comes out soon! Have a great weekend.

Geeze Jonsie, your garden is always the best...
We have some peas, and catnip and Rhubarb... is that enough of a garden to join the society... it'll get better when it gets warm, we promise!

Sorry I am late getting by with my gardening report. Not much rain here in fact it is very dry now, we needs rain. There is a TS in the Gulf so we may get some, we are getting lots of wind which we do not like.

Love your dragonfly.

Mommy is drooling over the artichokes. I do not know why I agree with Daddy and the boys, who don't like to eat them. ~Scylla

Wow! Can you send us some of that rain. We have a big drought going on here. I love your poppies. The gophers ate ours. Our peonies are blooming, though. Stomp those slugs good. I feel sorry for the squirrels.
