Remembering Meezer Momma Jan

Today we are saying our goodbyes to one of our beloved friends, Jan, who was Meezer Momma to Sabrina, Simon and Sam.  Jan left this world on November 27th and today is her memorial service.  We are sorry we can't be there in furpurson.

We loved visiting their blog and mom loved visiting Jan on Facebook.  They were among the first friends we met when we started blogging in 2008 and very special to us.   We learned from them how wonderful a Meezer pile could be!

We will always think of Jan whenever we see Meezers snoozing together peacefully.

In 2009, the St. Louis Meezers moved to Rocky Mount.  My mom was so excited for Jan and her family as we all followed their adventures.  Jan would post photos like this one below, showing the view from their new home.   This would make my mom dream of someday visiting Jan and the Meezers.
We are at a loss for words and meows at a time like this.  It will take us a long time to absorb what has happened.

Jan, you were so loved and will be missed by so many.

We didn't know Jan very well, but have visited her blog a lot recently, and know that she was loved by so many people, who wished they could have met her in person.

The CB makes the miles between us disappear and we are left behind with regrets that those dreams will not ever be real now...

I brings me comfort to know that the Meezers will help Jan's husband through this saddest of times...a part of her that will be with him always.

May the kitties comfort Jan's husband during this time of such grief...it will be hard to find the strength to go on, but as I did when my husband died, it's one paw in front of the other, until it gets easier...Sending our sympathies their way...

A beautiful tribute. We are so thankful that your human noticed the post on Facebook for it went right by ours without thinking--as she couldn't even believe Jan would be gone. We linked our Monday post as we just didn't think we could do another memorial. We hope that is okay (we didn't realize there was something set for today until yesterday)

We only knew Jan through her blog(s), which we always enjoyed, and not on facebook. We're glad the posts today remember her smiling. She was obviously loved by many.

This was a wonderful tribute to her. We only followed her blog, didn't have the opportunity to know her via other social media. Our human is still sick at heart, though, having wrestled with her own demons for so long. That Jan slipped through the cracks fills her and us with inexpressible sadness.

Lovely post for Jan. We knew her from her blog and followed her FB pages. My husband loved and lived in the Ozarks where Jan moved. It was fun to see the place from her eyes. She is at peace now however hard it is for us to accept. I am glad to have known Jan.

I knew Jan from her blog and enjoyed her loving posts about the meezers. Although we were not well acquainted I am shaken and saddened that one of our own from the cat community has been lost.
