I was contacted by the nice people at a toy company...yes, you read that right...a toy company! Yay! I love toys!
They wanted me to try out one of their new toys. They thought it would be cool if I could test this out with my cat family and Grete woofie. I mean if it passes through all our paws with flying colors...well...anyway, we were up to the offer. I told mom to say YES!
The Anti-Gravity WEB RUNNER from Fantasma Toys is a remote controlled black widow spider that uses patent-pending air suction technology to operate on the floor, walls and even upside-down! It has fully functioning articulated legs, glowing red eyes and can move over smooth surfaces in any direction with 360 degrees of motion.
The spider is completely controlled wirelessly via its combination remote control and charging station. This is the first product to be developed based on the comic book called “A.G. Arachnids,” also created by Fantasma Toys. The suggested retail price is $39.99 and you can find it at Amazon.com and other places in addition to their website.
When the box came, my momma Ellie made me stay back. She was not at all sure about this "toy". I agreed to stay back in the box. The box was amazing and I loved it! This toy turned out to be a ginormous spider. While we normally eat up spiders without blinking, I think this was the mother of all spiders coming back to seek revenge. I tried to apologize for any spiders I may have eaten...but she wouldn't listen.
Mom followed the written instructions on how to get the spider charged up. She was proud of herself and said it was pretty easy to do. Then mom took over controlling the camera and dad controlled the spider.
Grete woofie went nutso! She barked and barked and barked. It hurt my ears!
Grete tried to protect Figaro from the monster spider. We were all kind of scared but mom was laughing at us. Can you believe that? Here we are battling for our lives from Shelob and mom is laughing.
Finally mom took Grete out of the room so I could make nice with the spider. It was kinda cool.
Mom says that she would not leave Grete in the room alone with the spider as it would be easy for her to eat it up and the plastic would not be good in her tummy at all. Grete did want to eat it. Mom thinks we will only be able to play with it when Grete is not in the room.
Here is a video of us running from playing with the spider.

I bet Ginger Jasper would SO love that!

PeeEssWoo: Hi Grete!
The Woman is just a little bit scared of your spider too...
Thanks for the review. We have a feeling this is more of a kid toy than a cat toy. Mom wouldn't want us chewing on plastic either.
You guys don't seem to be enjoying the spider too much! I'm not sure I would either...
Look like a very fun toy !!!!!
But My sister will run away from home if I have spider toy : )
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!
Sorry ~ that scream was mom!!! Even seeing the spider on the video gave mom the chilly-willies! She is scared of them.
We eat them though! MOL!
So, you liked it then? My mum would never let a toy like that in the house, she is too scared of spiders. Even fake ones.
Grayson loved Grete's barking! Sorta. Perhaps moderately curious and lotsa askeered is more accurate. hahahaha!
After listing to the video I have only just realized that Grete's name is pronounced like my last name is up 'nawth! (Up until now I thought it was pronounced like GREET.)
Whitey sends purrs and smoochies to Cory!
We got this spider too and our mom was afraid of it when she took it out of the box!! So we haven't played with it yet but we're gonna "bug" her until she lets us!!
Okay, the mom is freaking out over that spider. No way would she ever allow us to have that, she doesn't care how good it is! LOL!
We think it's cool, but our Mom let out a scream, so we guess we're not getting one from Santa...
Now dat does look like fun.
How cool is that? Yes, I heard your evil Mommy laughing. She has the remote control -- that's why!
Figaro actually seems rather brave except at the end.
I loved the picture of Cory in the box. Isn't that the way it always is? Whatever the toy, the cats always prefer the boxes!
Hi Everyone! We have missed visiting with you so much! We think it is so cool that you got asked to try out a new toy - and one that looks super fun for sure. We think we would have had the same reaction you did - a bit concerned and a bit interested. But it does look like it is pretty fun!
That's one noisy spider and your mom is mean, just like our mum who would do the same to us.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!
Cory, we have spiders that big here! SRSLY.
That one sorta creeps us out...we would've run, too!
That spider is HUGE! It sounded like it was hissing at you too.
Holy Smokes! That is one big spider!!! We are surprised any of you got near it!
We're not sure about that spider either, but TBT said "OH COOL!" So we might see one annyway!
We loved Grete's reaction...
We think our mom would have more fun with this than us :). Grete was a kick in the video :).
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie
that looks like terrific fun! Do the legs come off if cats chew on it?
We are pretty much divided. We thinks Fenris would have the same reaction as Grete and we thinks he probably would eat it. Artemisia & Scylla say they MIGHT play with it depending on how big it is. It looks HUGE in the picture and Socks well Socks is still hiding in Eldest Boy Beans bed and says to tell him when the spider is gone. Totally not the toy for him as he hates toys that move on their own.
Too funny! Grete is so silly!! Isn't this spider fun!?!
So we have to know.... how did you get it to go straight? It kept doing the 360 when we'd try to make it go straight, but mom is not good with the remote control either!
