Pardon me...the smells in the garden are so intoxicating this time of year I can hardly stand it. Spring is here already...I can smell it! Even though my mom and dad are slackers and there are weeds everywhere, I'm still overjoyed. I'm thankful for my garden and my furriends.
While I sniff the spring garden smells, I want to take a moment to remember one of the most amazing garden cats in the world. My furriend and Society of Feline Gardeners member,
Eric.
I have always admired Eric and his brother Flynn...for their skills way above what the normal garden cat must do. He was a farmer! I think every time my mom saw him in a flower pot she swooned. So did I.
Eric left us suddenly this past week, off to The Rainbow Bridge. I hope my beloved guardian angels were all there waiting for him to show him around.
Eric, I hope you are watching over us as we wander the garden today.
Cecilia discovered a few of the daffodils that are daffing already! There are a few early ones...the larger patch we have are not yet blooming.
When the tree guys were here last week, they took out a few limbs from my beloved weeping willow tree. A few of the large branches needed to come down. I'm inspecting the wood since it will be wonderful in our outdoor fire pit. I can see myself warming my paws!
The winter Daphne is blooming. It is so fragrant...I love it!
The Andromeda bush is covered in little white flowers.
Even our rosemary bush is blooming!
And...contrary to what Ginger told you about on Tuesday...he is NOT a help to me. Yes he paws around the garden, but he spends most of his time sleeping on the deck.
It's true.
