Hi there my furriends! Yes, I am inside the house. It's been raining and muddy and icky and I am a smart cat. I know that this time of year, parts of the garden come inside. It's a special time of year when you get a whole decorated tree...to smell to appreciate.
Even I, Jonesie The Good, have been caught playfully whapping at the ornaments.
By the fire, I'm joined by my family. Cory and Figaro can barely keep their eyes open...yet I, the good garden cat keep a watchful eye on the fire. Yes...it may be gas...there are no real flames, but my services are still required.
The tree glows warmly at night. We do our best to move the tree skirt around as much as possible to gently remind our mom and dad to put the presents under there.
Some of our favorite ornaments are making their annual appearance. The little kitten ornament is Madison's ornament. It doesn't really look like him, but it says "Kitten's First Christmas 1996". We know our sweet Madison was a kitten the Christmas of 1996, so it belongs to him. The rest of us don't have official ornaments. Only our stockings.
Our Mr. Moose ornament reminds mom of a trip to Maine in August of 2001. She was driving through the night (dad too) with a friend from Montreal to Maine. They drove through the night and somewhere in New Hampshire...all bleary eyed at 3am they stopped at a 24 hour convenience store. They talked to the clerk and discussed how we had not seen any moose. The clerk mentioned they are hard to see at night "because they have that non-reflective fur, you know".
For some reason this started a giggling fit that hasn't stopped for 11 years. Every time mom hangs the ornament on the tree we call it the non-reflective ornament. Every time moose's are discussed in our house...you get the idea.
*snicker*
Well, time to get back to guarding the fireplace and waiting for Santa Paws.
