Nigel's Gotcha Day

Hi there!  Have I ever told you how happy I am that I was Gotcha'd?  Whoa.  I had a hard life before my mom and dad trapped me.

I was thinking a whole lot about it this past weekend.  We had snow and ice...it was c-c-c-c-c-cold!

Some of my good furriends remember that when I finally revealed to my future mom and dad that I was homeless, it was in a snowstorm in late 2008.  I took until February of 2009 for them to get close enough to trap me.

Sometimes mom asks me why, with all the snow and cold, did I play so hard to get?

Truth is...I was scared.  I had lost my trust in humans and didn't realize how lovely life would be.

Now, as I sit inside the house, I can look out the window and see this...

I know now that I am loved and will never have to step a paw in the snow ever again.

So, in celebration of me reaching the 5 year anniversary of my trapping...

Niptinis for all!

P.S.  Mom says that this is my birthday as well...but I don't know how old I am.  Mom thinks that I was about 3 years old when I was trapped, so how about 8 years young?

Sounds good to me.
