Tabby Tuesday

Hi there, Ginger here!  I've been having a rough time of it this past week.  I mean after I got all plugged up, the vets helped me out a lot.  I had to spend 3 whole days at the vet...and when I got home all I wanted to do is sit in my mom's lap and paw at her face.  I'm good at that.

She made such a fuss over me.

Unfortunately, on Monday morning I had to go back to the vet because I couldn't...uh...go.  I got plugged up again.  Mom is VERY worried about me because...well she's my mom.  It's her job to worry.

The vets are trying to figure out what's going on.  They think I have a condition called megacolon.  Mom says she experienced this with our guardian angel ::bows head in honor:: Michelangelo, however with me, mom says it seems worse.

We'll know more in a few days, so in the meantime, I think it would mean a lot to me and my mom if you would purr for me.
******************************************

UPDATE!

The power of the purr is something magical.  Ginger was able to pass everything on his own last night and will not require more severe/invasive treatment.   He will be sent home today with medication to help keep things moving along as well as special food.

Thank you for all your purrs and woofs and woos!  They worked!

  27. Ginger, we are sending our most very special strong purrs for you and your pooper. It's no good at all when the vets are suggesting scary things but they can't be sure. You should come with me to my vet, we might get a bulk discount :P

A couple of weeks ago mum was talking to my specialist vet at the referral hospital and mentioned Suey's recent chiro appointment. The vet mentioned that she was also looking after a cat with megacolon who had chiro appointments, and she thought that the chiro lessened the severity of the symptoms.

Manly smooches to you, dude :)

  46. Dear Ginger - I send much care and love, and gentle colon healing your way.

I live with Crohn's disease (Crohn's colitis - sadly most of my colon was removed 13 years ago) and really understand how painful and difficult a difficult colon can be.

Though it might involve boringly bland and sloppy food, or a time with no food, it will be worth it to have you all healthy again.

Sending extra special healing thoughts to you, darling Ginger, and caring huggles to you, your humans, the other 8 cats that share you home (so must love you) and gorgeous woofie, Grete,

Michelle down in Wellington, New Zealand (and Zebby Cat, rescued feline, sleeping just now, as he does most of the day)

xxxxxxxxx plus Zebby's LOUD purrrs and a special huggles for Grete

  55. We are glad to hear that things have improved for Ginger and send lots of healing purrs and energy. Megacolon is a frustrating and uncomfortable disorder. Adding organic canned pumpkin to Ginger's wet food might help to keep things moving, as well as holistic treatments that may provide less stressful long-term therapy.
