Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Meow! Hope you haven't shared the super secret password with any non-felines...so shhh!  Say it softly ::meow::   Welcome back to my garden! Even though it's winter I've been super busy snoopervising all the garden stuff.   Plus I have to plan for what to plant this spring.  I'm going to spend my weekend pawing through the seed Cat-a-log so I can help mom place an order.

Dad wanted to dig this past weekend so I agreed to help.

Turns out we had carrots and parsnips lurking under the dirt!  I actually knew it all along, but if I hadn't pawed at the dirt and made a fuss, Dad never would have found anything!

You know what?  Parsnips are fun!!!  Dad and mom like to eat them, but they make great toys to whap!

You can't work all the time my furriends!

Please leave a link and let me know what's going on in your garden this week!!

  24. Parsnips are fun looking.

Mom is thinking of getting a little raised bed and doesn't know what to plant. She'd like tomatoes and cherry tomatoes for sure.

  25. We have never seen a parsnip 'cuz Mom gates them. In fact, her entire face grimaced as soon as she saw the word 'parsnip"! That was funny, Jonesie!

  27. If I had a garden, it would be buried deep, deep in the snow! And it's STILL snowing! I do have a couple feeble houseplants, but I don't think they count.

It's fun to see you in your garden!

    Happy Super Bowl Weekend!

  28. Sorry I am late for the Thursday meeting but I see it is still going on. I didn't know that these things could live under the ground for such a long time until you found them. You are one smart kittie and I bet are lots of help to the dad.

  29. We cant garden right now. We have 2' of snow an the ground is frozen stiff!

The good news is that we are ready to plant seeds inside in 2 weeks and some about each week after that. We are lookin fer our best tomatoes ever this year. And we are trying new stuff like celery and parsnips!

  30. Sorry, I missed this on Thursday, Jonesie. I just love reading about you and your antics in the garden. You're so lucky that you can actually do things actively. That's really cool about having carrots and parsnips under all that dirt. I'll bet you were a real big help digging them up. You sure have a good sniffer.
