Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie- Society of Feline Gardeners

This week, The Society of Feline Gardeners celebrates Hunt Week!

It was freezing cold all last week, down to 15 degrees.  I was kept from my garden by my over protective caring mother.  I begged and I pleaded until she finally let me out.  Yes, I resorted to machine paws on the window.

Free at last!

Nothing much is growing in the garden this time of year.  I'm pretty sure the seeds we planted in the greenhouse went into shock with the cold weather.  All I can do is hope they come back to life when its a little warmer.  So what's a garden cat to do?  Hunt!

That vishus squirrel won't know what hit him!  What are you hunting in your garden this week?

See ya later!  I got squirrel to catch!

  2. We're letting our squirrels get big and fat. Then they'll be so slow that even poor ole heesh can catch one.

  8. Wow, look at you go! Did you get Mr. or Ms. Squirrel? Some of the squirrels here can be quite nasty; I've actually seen one *chase* a cat! Hilarious. But I'm sure you'd never let a rodent get the better of you, Jonesie.

  12. Austin & JayJay go out, but they've never gone after the squirrels around our house - they are plain mean! I don't go out - why hunt for food and do all of that work when Mom supplies all the food I want daily?? Austin & JayJay call me stuck up - what do you think??

  15. We have the same problem here, but with lots of snow, too! Dante was out hunting squirrels just like you, Jonesie, but he didn't have much luck either. I think sometimes just the act of hunting is so much fun, you don't actually need to catch the squirrel.

  25. Oh, be good to the squirrel, he's almost as cute as you are. Just scare him a litle bit and then let him go. That's what I'd do if I had a garden like yours. Instead I just can watch the birdies out of my window.

  27. wow, serious chase. We would love to hunt, but Mrs H HATES that (she is a veggie and hates all killing - even flies - honestly!) so we have to pretend to be mellow and only chase live things when she looks away. Darcy & Bingley
