After Figaro so rudely interrupted my tongue bath from my wonderful momma Ellie (see yesterday's post for the photographic evidence of his rudeness)...I took matters into my own paws and bathed myself.

I know most of the cats around here don't think I'm capable of taking care of myself.

They are wrong.

It's just that don't really want to.

See, here I am watching while momma Ellie bathes baby Cory. Isn't this just the sweetest thing ~~easy stomach~~ I mean, I'm not even making a fuss or pointing out that Cory is no longer a baby...I mean she's almost 6 years old....who does she think she is kidding....baby....::rolls eyes:: ok, I can't even look anymore.

With all the soggy weather, the best place for a garden cat to be in sitting in the window. Nice and warm and safe and dry.

I can see most of what's happening out there. I can see the grass is soggy and muddy. I can see all the potential of what I will plant this year. I see....I see...

Sykes! See him down in the vegetable garden nomming on the nip that's still growing there? This is no ordinary introoder. Nope.

We got BIG NEWS here at Casa de Cory!

BIG!

Look who's under our bed! I mean under OUR bed. In the house.

Yup. It's sweet Cecilia! (she only stayed under the bed for a few days)

But the other BIG news is...

This is Ginger's "What the Fluff" look!

I didn't let Ginger tattle today cause he's been a bit speechless. But you know what?

Mom and dad had to think long and hard about what was best for everyone. Ginger has been having serious issues with constipation and megacolon. He's on 2 different medications. Ginger is a huge drama queen and at our house...well there are lots of litter boxes, but sometimes there is drama around the door to the laundry room. Mom and dad suspected that Ginger might um...be holding it when he shouldn't and therefore making his condition worse. Plus he was stressed out.

So...now he has moved into the shop and has only 1 roommate...sweet elderly Madison. No competition for the box...or the food...or the cat tree (Madison has never shown any interest in it). Ginger is adjusting super well and there have been no...um...backups!

Madison is a bit perturbed, but there has been only mild hissing and half hearted swatting of paws. We think Cecilia misses Madison more than he misses her (don't tell her that!)

Meanwhile...

Look who's hogging the white fluffy blanket...and is being a total show off!

I know Cecilia is a glamour-puss, but does she have to hog the camera?

Cecilia already knows most everyone in the house from hanging out in the yard with everyone. My momma and I still remember her from when she first came to live with us. The biggest issue was getting Cecilia used to being around Grete in the house. Cecilia remembers our woofie Colby...and Colby never barked...or yipped...or whined. Grete does all these things.

I think her ears are adjusted now.

Momma Meezer and the Mancat

You know, everyone knows that I am the momma around here and I mother everyone. My Cory is pretty good about this and doesn't pout too much. Figaro is a mommas boy too. When Figaro was growing up, his birth momma still visited with him in our backyard. She moved away awhile ago, so now he looks to me for mothering.

I'm glad to provide.

It was a rainy weekend, so Figaro and I had lots of quality time together.

He's a mushpot.

He's fun to wash.

He likes using me for a pillow and I'm happy to let him.

He there! Yeah, I know. This is not dirt I'm sitting on and the rug next to me is not grass. I have a good excuse. The weather here is yucky! First we got a dusting of snow and now it's turned to heavy rain. It's enough to make a garden cat want to fly south for the winter.

But the dreary days of January are meant for one thing...besides snuggling with your mom and dad by the fire.

Yes, it's time to start planning the spring garden! I'm starting to paw through Renee's Garden website. It's where I got my super fabulous seeds last year. My purrsonal favorites were the Jewell Toned Blend Beets and the Tricolor Circus Circus Carrots!

Tuxie Tuesday....sort of

Here I was. All ready to give you a stellar Tuxie Tuesday post, complete with my stunning mancatly good looks and fun adventures.

But then the snow happened. We got just a dusting, but because we hardly ever get snow around here we had to celebrate.

Grete woofie went a little nutso. She adores the white frozen stuff. There wasn't enough to make a snowball, but she still had a blast. I know she is sitting all calm and stuff in this photo but most of the time...

Then she came inside the house and did this...zzzzzzz.

Rumor has it that we may be getting more snow tonight! We will purr for that to happen. We want Grete to be happy.

Hey there! I'm still stuck in the house and mom didn't take any indoor photos of me this week. What's up with that?

Anyway, I'm doing fine. Mom and dad have been watching everyday and there have been no further coyote sightings. Dad will still work to reinforce parts of our fence just to be safe, but looks like I will get limited semi-supervised time in the garden sometime soon. Part of my issue has been getting through my flea allergy. My doctor has switched me to Revolution because the Frontline no longer was working for us.

I also got a cortisone shot and another round of antibiotics. Things are looking up!

So...since Cecilia got a couple of hours of outdoor time this past weekend, I thought it would be cool if she would take the lead this week.

Thanks for pawing it over to me Jonesie! Hey furriends! It's been a dry and mild winter so far. Great for pawing around the garden and seeing what's interesting.

Well, Figaro was planning on providing you a Wordless Wednesday photo. It was a really cute picture of him all curled up and sleeping with his pink nose and handsome fur.

Blogger for some reason would not allow my mom to upload a photo from our recent photos on our computer, so she had to search back in the blog to bring you a previously posted photo of ME!

Not sure when we'll get back to posting new photos...Jonesie is excited because Cecilia has a guest post planned for Thursday...Cecilia and Madison got time out in the garden this past weekend and rumor has it there is baby nip out there! Hope we can post about it on time!

Hi there my furriends and Garden Society members! I'm still reporting from inside the house. I'm still hoping dad and Grete come up with a solution for me so I can get back outside for at least part time garden snoopervision by spring.

Grete has been a big help to me.

She watches out the window so see if there are any evil introoders.

All we can see are these fat squirrels. Can you believe that dad insists on feeding them?

Enough of watching from the window for Grete...off she goes to investigate every corner of the yard with her trusty squeaky ball. If the squirrels get too cheeky with her, she squeaks the ball at them and they ~~laugh~~ run!

Here is the spot in the back fence where the coyote got in/out! It's such a small space, but my dad saw it happen...and there was even coyote furs left on the chain link! Whoa! We had no idea they could get under such a small space. Dad will see if he can dig a trench and put fencing under the ground so no one can dig in. That will be a big project so I don't know if it will be ready by spring.

Good news is that mom and dad have been watching closely and there have been no more visits by the evil coyote.

While Grete was out she spotted interesting things growing in the garden.

There was even a lone rose blossom! How cool is that?

Trouble on Tuesday

Mom did something mean to us this past weekend. I know I look ok here, consoling myself with ~~mom's~~ my sock. I don't like making a fuss when things aren't going my way. At least I don't make a big fuss. Maybe a pout...

Anyway, it all started with mom and dad saying it was time to close the doors. I had no idea what they were talking about since the doors to our house are closed all the time to keep us kitties inside and critters outside.

Then I tried to use the ~~ladies room~~ litterbox...the doorway was blocked!!! Mom picked me up and put me inside the room. Then I tried to get out. I couldn't!!!! I machine pawed the see through door like crazy...and mom and dad encouraged me...but they laughed too.

They put Bennette in the room with me so she could apparently show off her ability to figure stuff out. I still couldn't quite get it. I eventually...after like a ~~kazillion years~~ 20 minutes, mom and dad helped me.

They say my learning curve may take awhile.

I don't like this at all.

I'm always a bit sad when Christmas is over. I love sitting under the Christmas tree with all the lights and the smell of the tree.

New Years Day is the day the tree comes down...the lights get put away for another year.

Hi there! It's my Gotcha Day! 4 years ago I was hanging out in the cold in this very cool backyard. I was afraid to come inside, but I was hungry...and did I mention it was cold. I took a chance.

This is a photo of me on my first day in the house. I came into the kitchen and the humans blocked off the room so I could have it to myself. I realized this place was ok.

The plan was to get me checked out, see if I had a family and then if not, place me. Mom and dad thought I was so adorable that someone MUST be looking for me. They placed ads, plastered the neighborhood with posters and signs.

Nothing.

Then the adoption process started....and someone nice was interested in me...but...I got sick. I had asthma and an upper respiratory thingie going on so mom and dad decided I needed to stay put until my condition stabilized.

Well, you know how the rest of the story goes.

So here I am, 4 years later. I still have some health issues and I need my special food, but my asthma is gone. Did I tell you it only lasted long enough to make sure I got to stay here?

Go ahead, kiss my head. You know you want to.

Well my furriends, I'm still in the house. Not only am I being safe, it's so icky and dreary and rainy and muddy I don't even want to be out there. It's been pouring rain and it's windy and I don't think that will change any time soon.

Good thing we have holiday dinners and furriends stopping by.

Since I am responsible for growing some of the food for our feast, I'm invited as an honored dinner guest.

One of the dishes mom made for Christmas Eve dinner was a roasted beet salad. I grew the beets myself. From seed. Here they are all roasted up and ready to get cut up for the salad.

Just yesterday dad went out in the muddy garden and harvested the rest of our carrots. Yes, I grew these myself as well. From seed. Here they are all roasted up and yummy. Mom even put some of them in a lentil soup.

Mom and I ordered the seed from Renee's Garden Seeds and since they did so well, we'll be ordering more in 2012. And if they sound familiar, this is the wonderful place that Raymond and Busby's mom works.

All of our stockings have been hung by the fire.

The stockings of all who came before are hung around the window near the tree.

So my furriends, I'm sure by now you've heard from Ginger. We are in serious lockdown. My garden sanctuary was invaded by the worst of introoders. A coyote.

We had a disturbed Jack Russell Terror in the yard...and once we even had a ~~vishus~~ cute deer.

What's a garden cat to do?

I've been spending my time looking out the glass door. Looking out windows.

Relying on my best woofie pal and sister Grete to do the snoopervising for me.

Grete takes her job seriously. She is not pleased that I can't come and play with her in the yard. Mom and dad are trying to figure out what to do so I can still enjoy my favorite place in the whole world.

Dad took out an old and diseased apple tree. He is replacing it with a Honey Crisp apple tree that I approved of. It breaks my heart that dad had to handle this alone without me there by his side.

Grete promises to keep her nose to the ground to make sure no more evil introoders trespass into MY garden.

Huh? Oh sorry, I didn't see you!

I've been feeling much better this past week after having a bunch of health issues...won't go into the details here because it's the week before Christmas and I don't want to gross out Santa. I want him to visit me. Just know that I'm doing ok.

It's been a really wild week here at Casa de ~~Cory~~ Ginger. Some of you may know that we've been having a heck of a time with fleas. They have been hard to control. Mom gives us all Frontline and most recently mom got rid of all dog and cat beds that can't easily go in the washing machine. In the process of trying to rid the house and us kitties of fleas, mom and dad got an information sheet from a holistic vet. One of the suggestions was a good old fashioned flea comb.

Mom had used these in the past, before Frontline and other things were available...back in the dark ages when our guardian angel Morgan was around. I mean, it sounded archaic, but mom was willing to try anything. Both Jonesie and I are allergic to flea bites and all it takes is one flea and we are miserable.

So mom went to work. First Grete...nothing.

Ellie, nothing

me, nothing

Cory, nothing

Bennette, nothing

Figaro, nothing

Jonesie...1 very fat flea (now a very dead flea)

So mom takes a look for the last kitty in the house, Nigel. (Cecilia and Madison live in our workshop)

He never goes outside. Never scratches. Coat is gorgeous.

One swipe of the comb. 1 flea. Another swipe of the comb. 2 more fleas.

I think you get the picture. Nigel is a regular flea farm. By the time mom was done, she combed 20 fleas off Nigel.

Nigel got re-treated with Frontline and mom sprayed his favorite cat tree sleeping spot. She will keep combing him every day.

So now we can tell Santa who's been the source of it all...

And then...if that is not enough drama...I mean you know how I hate drama...

Dad was working in our backyard on Saturday morning. Normally Figgy and Jonesie would go outside first thing on the weekend morning...but because of the flea situation, mom and dad have been keeping everyone inside until it's under control.

Well...dad goes out to the way back and he sees a coyote!!!! In our yard! Our safe haven!!!

Mom and dad have lived here like...since the dark ages and there has never been a coyote in our yard.

::shudders::

Well, as I think about it...if it weren't for the fleas and stuff, Jonesie and Figaro would have been outside in the yard. And Nigel is the flea farm...so...maybe the fleas and Nigel are heroes because if Jonesie and Figaro had been let outside...::shudders::

Santa, leave an extra treat for Nigel, ok?

Well, I'm still not spending any time in my garden. The days are short and it's really cold outside. I'm not allowed outside in the dark, so that means I'm spending a whole lot of hours on the inside looking out. This is an old picture of me from last month when I was still harvesting veggies. I'm sitting by the beet patch because mom is planning on making a roasted beet salad for Christmas Eve.

So, as far as the inside of the house goes...I've been saved by my Grete woofie who brought the outdoors inside with our wonderful tree. We decorated it, so I thought I'd show you a few of my favorite ornaments. Below is a spider web which reminds me of my furriends the spiders. Next to it is the "Kitten's First Christmas" ornament from 1996 when Madison was a baby.

Here is a better picture of Kitty Cucumber. All of us kitties adore her.

The kitten in a box is our "Lewis" ornament because it reminds us of our brother Lewis.

Wordy Wednesday

Hi there! I heard that some of my furriends were asking about me, to see how I'm doing. Everyone wants to know if my um...trains are running on time. Well, not really. I'm a bit off schedule if you know what I mean, but the trains eventually arrive. Mom watches over me carefully and so far I'm doing ok.

Instead of putting my medication in my food, mom dilutes the powder in water and puts it in a syringe for me. I'm super good about taking it. The up side is that I can now eat with the rest of the family.

I'm gonna paw the blog over to Cory and Ellie now as they have Secret Paw news.

We helped mom wrap up our Secret Paws gift. It went in the mail on Monday. We are sworn to secrecy about who it is. We did our best to stop ourselves from keeping what's in the box...but we think we have have left a fur or 2.

We got our Christmas tree this weekend! Being the woofie, it's up to me to hunt for the best and most perfect tree I can find. There are so many to choose from...it's not an easy job.

When I find the one I'm looking for, I sit by it.

We get help from the nice people at the tree farm. Once I sit by it and woof, the nice guys with the chainsaws and trailer come and help us. They make it easy. Once I finish my work, I take the tree home...and then Cory & Co. take over the decorating.

Our most favorite ornament is Kitty Cucumber. She sleeps all year long in her jammies with her mousie...and then we wake her up we put her on the top of our tree in a place of honor.

Grete did a wonderful job finding just the right tree.

Dad lifts me up so I can say hello to her. I wouldn't dream of climbing up the tree.

I have to stay on Santa's good list.

Well my furriends, I'm still stuck in the house. The weather here has been super cold and my paws are staying nice and warm inside while I spend time looking at my garden through the window.

I'm turning over the garden post to Grete woofie today.

Oh yeah....I'm SO excited today since daddy took me to the Rhododendron Gardens today! Do you know how cool this place is? No matter what time of year they have....DUCKIES!!!!

There they are!!!! I barked at them quite a lot. They didn't seem too concerned.

Silly duckies.

Ok, let's admire the plants dad....SO boring....

It is still quite pretty and I can still smell so many wonderful smells.

Hi there my furriends! Thank you for purring for me and sending me nice messages. As you know I was hauled off the to emergency v-e-t last week when I got all plugged up. It was NO FUN!

You can see in the photo that I've now got a "poodle paw" from where they shaved me. So...I don't have much to gossip about with my family because all the drama centered around me this past week. Is it gossiping if it's about you?

Come to think of it...it's kind of nice when it's all about you. Mom has been fussing over me. I've been super good about taking my medicine and I know she's slipping stuff into my food to make things easier for me. This means I have to eat separate from everyone else. I liked it at first but now I just want to eat with the rest of the clan. Mom said it would be "bad" if the other kitties got my meal.

Sigh.

See it is addressed to me...AND my most wonderful family, which includes my most amazing and adorable daughter, Cory.

It's a gift from the Katnip Lounge kitties!!!! Oh...the box smelled GOOD!

Of course I'll share with you Figaro and my darling Cory. Cory...is it...is it....a....a...snakie toy!!!!! Oh...::twitch:: it MUST BE KILLED! Don't be shocked Figgy...

Before I kill my new snakie...I'll introduce it to one of my other snakie toys...who has been repeatedly KILLED by yours truly....

Cory will demonstrate the killing technique that I've mastered over the years. Cory is demonstrating on our well killed current snakie toy...so new snakie toy knows what to expect.

That's right, I'm not exactly in the garden this week. I've been staying inside, taking a break from my gardening duties. A girl has got to take a break now and then, right? I'm turning the gardening over to Cecilia and Madison this week. Not that they did much work. Cecilia prefers chasing squirrels and mousies and Madison only likes to be outside for very short periods of time when it's cold outside...like 5 minutes or so.

Cecilia is a bit disgusted that mom and dad have not yet cleared out the garden beds. Of course if i were outside more, then this would be done. See, they are a bit useless without me around to snoopervise.

Cecilia, yes, I know there are still tons of leaves on the ground. They do look very pretty with her fur colors!

Yeah mom, I think I'll keep you.

Madison is not thrilled with being outside. He's going over to mom to ask to be let back in.

We'd love to hear what's going on in your garden! We won't get our Christmas tree for another couple of weekends so we will just have to be very patient and wait.

Mom's a wee bit late with our post because she just got home from the emergency v-e-t after taking me there.

Unfortunately I got a bit plugged up again and I was getting desperate and I even threw up...and my mom knew that meant I could not wait until morning to get me some help. Mom had to leave me there.

UPDATE

Ginger is now back home after a successful procedure to get him unblocked. We will have to continue to monitor him and give him medication as this is going to be a chronic condition with him.

Happy Thanksgiving my garden furriends! Today is not officially a meeting of the Society of Feline Gardeners. In honor of the holiday we are taking a day off. I've even asked Mr. Linky to take the day off. I hope all of you kitties are at home enjoying a feast with your family.

I have so much to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for my family, who saved my life almost 10 years ago when they found me...near death in the garden. At the time I could only hope and pray that someone would love me. I never dared to think the lovely garden where I was found would one day be mine.

I am thankful that my garden is beautiful no matter what time of year it is. Even when it gets cold and soggy, there are beautiful colors and interesting things everywhere.

I'm thankful for my fur siblings who each are special and have their own rescue stories to tell. I'm especially thankful for my woofie Grete who adores me and protects me.

I'm thankful that I have the most wonderful mom and dad who understand me and love me. I am thankful for the wonderful food I get to eat. I know it may sound crazy...but I'm thankful for my wonderful v-e-t who helps me stay healthy and makes sure I get medicine when I'm sick.

I'm thankful for my garden beds that provide food for my family and double as a claw sharpener.

I'm thankful for all of my CB furriends. I'm thankful for Alfie Marshall, Vice Purresident of the Society of Feline Gardeners and my bested furriend.

Ok...so I was a part of a conspiracy to abandon my kitties for a long weekend. I admit it.

Does that make me a bad dog? No. I do feel a bit guilty.

Honest. Which is more than I can say for my kitty siblings. No matter what they do they NEVER feel guilt.

Even though I was visiting the worlds biggest, self flushing litter box...I think my kitties would have hated it. We had nice weather for a few days but on our last night there a BIG storm rolled in. The wind blew and the rain fell. I had to hold on strong so I wouldn't blow away in the wind when I had to go outside and...uh..you know.

Us doggies don't get indoor litter boxes like you kitties.

With a face like this, it won't take long for my kitties to forgive me.

Did you know that we were ::shudders:: ABANDONED this past weekend? Never mind that mom had our kitty sitter come by and feed us an unlimited quantity of Fancy Feast and other treats...

We were ABANDONED...with no access to the Internet...no way to communicate with my furriends.

I understand my mom made a feeble attempt to fool my furriends by commenting with my password from a remote location.

Momma Ellie watched over everyone...being the momma it's her job.

Welcome back to my garden! It's a good thing that I got some work done last weekend. We had a big rain and wind storm move in on Wednesday so I won't be headed back to the garden any time soon.

I had a VERY productive weekend and I can hardly wait to show you!

Let's get this party started mom. My club members are here...

There, that's better! I love you too mom.

Now...on to my garden.

Dad got out his shovel when I pawed at the beet garden. I reminded him that the beets were telling me that it was time to come out of the dirt. I could tell by the way the dirt felt under my paws that they were ready, but sometimes you have to listen too.

Yes dad...the potatoes wanted to come out too.

Good job Dad. You know what? I'm a great gardener, but when it comes to digging out the veggies, my paws need help. Dad is much more talented with a shovel than I'll ever be.

See what teamwork can do? There were carrots that were ready to harvest so we dug them up too. One of the best things about being a garden cat is being able to provide for my family. They always oooh and aaaaah when they see what I've grown. It's a much better response than showing up with a deaded mousie.

I always wait for Dad when he puts away the garden tools. I wouldn't dream of leaving him alone to do that by himself.

So...when you saw Figgy and Bennette snoozing earlier this week? Yeah...I was there too with Dad. After a hard day's work in the garden, we deserve a rest.

I'm sure you're wondering how my baby girl is doing. I've been keeping a close watch over her ever since she came home. Mom gives Cory medicine and she takes like a champ. I'm very proud of her.

Mom wants us to stop eating dry food and change over to wet food. I'm ok with this, but it's hard getting all of us kitties to agree. Mom said we can take a few weeks to adjust so for now we are still getting dry food but we are getting wet food twice a day. We are also trying lots of different foods to see what we like best. I don't think we'll ever agree. So far we still adore classic chicken Fancy Feast. We also like the turkey Wellness canned food and the Tikki Cat chicken. We didn't like some of the other stuff mom brought home...but we love her for trying.

Hi there my furriends! Guess what? The vet called my mom to check up on me. They asked about my pee! How bizarro is that? I mean...who calls you up to check on your pee? And my mom...being equally bizarro...TELLS THEM! I get no privacy around here.

So I have been a very good girl, taking my medicine and making it easy on my mom. She doesn't call me "sweetie mitten" for no reason! Mom tells me I'm doing much better but she's nervous I might have a relapse. I admit I did try and pee in the kitchen one more time but mom saw me gearing up for it and she picked me up and carried me to the litter box. I thanked her for the ride and then did my thing...where I was supposed to do it.

Mom told me I was a good girl.

I knew that!

Well my furriends, here you are expecting big things from me in my garden this week. It didn't happen.

Turns out my mom and dad left for the weekend and so I ended up in lock down. In addition, my time in the garden mid-week has been severely cut back due to something about the clocks changing. It's bad enough that we are confused about our breakfast time...but being so dark outside in the evening means precious little time for me to enjoy my garden.

It's so not fair.

I think I'm going to blow the perpetual raspberry.

That's right.

With Cory's bladder issues the week was looking pretty bleak, but there was good news in this for us. More canned food! The bad news is that mom found out that the Fancy Feast flavor that Cory likes best (I like it too) has higher carbs than the other flavors. So that means no more for us. Mom says not to worry that there are lots of other canned foods out there and we can try them all if we like...as long as they are grain free or very low in carbs.

Maybe I should leave my tongue out to taste them all.

Bad news is that Cory is going to have to stop sneaking Grete's canned dog food. It's true. Grete lets Cory eat right out of her bowl.

So...I know you wanted to see me in my garden today. I'll leave you with a photo of me from a couple of weekends ago. I'm purring that I'll get some outdoor time this coming weekend. There's still lots of work to do!

Thank you for all of your kind purrs yesterday. My Cory was returned to me Tuesday morning. The vet called my mom and filled her in on my baby girl. Cory had blood in her pee and they think it's due to an inflammation. She has to take anti-inflammatory medication and some antibiotics. In addition the vet wanted my girl to eat some prescription food that Cecilia already eats. Cory tried a bit and barfed it up right away.

The vet said the important thing is that Cory eats wet food...Fancy Feast is ok.

Cory just about did back flips!

We will see how it goes.

I was SO happy to get home. I thought the vet wanted to keep me forever since I'm so cute and stuff. I made sure I sat on mom, then on dad...then slept with my momma Ellie for awhile.

Dad let me use his glasses to read the labels on my medications. It says "eat with food"! More Fancy Feast for me!!!! I think the kind with the gravy should be what the doctor ordered.

Thank you for thinking of me and purring for me. It makes a huge difference when you are stuck in a cage for hours. I really could feel the positive vibrations from my furriends.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

Purr for Cory

My daughter Cory was stuffed into a carrier on Monday late afternoon and I haven't seen her since. I saw the door she went through with mom and dad...but she didn't come back. I waited by the door and when my mom and dad came back, they told me Cory was still at the vet. I even had a toy mousie waiting for her.

Mom said my Cory was peeing around the house...little bits on the bathroom floor, in the kitchen...she even tried to go into the litterbox room with my mom and...uh...well tried to imitate my mom. That didn't go over too well. Mom said that Cory wanted mom to see it, so we think Cory was asking for a bit of help.

Mom was hopeful that my Cory could come home tonight, but the phone rang and it was the vet who said Cory needed to stay the night so they could figure out the best way to help her.

I have only spent one night of my life away from my baby girl.

This is going to be hard.

UPDATE

Hey there! I was stuffed into a carrier and taken to the vet last night. The vet thought I was so adorable that he tried to steal my pee...and when I wouldn't cooperate he tried to steal me! They tried to bribe me to stay with chicken canned food but I was not fooled. I finally decided to go ahead and let them have my pee (weirdos) so they would let me go.

I am now home. Mom said they are waiting for results of tests...don't have any idea what they are "testing". Figure my pee will end up in a kitty museum or something like that. I am famous. I do have a blog you know.

Welcome back to my messy garden. Dad has been working on getting things cleaned up, but it's not done yet. All the leaves have not fallen. I will be snoopervising his activities until well into December.

Ginger has been getting some outdoor time. He's been doing much better and so is off 24/7 watch by my mom.

Figgy has been helping to mow the lawn, one blade of grass at a time. He's helpful that way. He doesn't mind getting his paws wet.

Our trees are turning color which is kind of fun to see...even if my days in the garden are getting shorter and shorter.

Do you think Ginger will allow Figgy to pass by the garden gate without giving the not so secret password?

Hope your garden is not a soggy mess like mine!

Don't worry kitties. Grete is on patrol with her squeaky ball to make sure that no introoders invade our meeting today. I know, she looks like she is playing, but don't be fooled. Grete is always on duty.

With fall here, the leaves are starting to come off the trees. I like it when it's dry outside, but I don't like the feel of wet leaves under my paws. It's slimy.

The sedum that was barely pink in late summer is now almost burgundy. It's fun to watch it change color.

Yeah Grete, dad has been neglecting the grass. It makes a better doggie bed when it gets long.

Well my furriends, enough hanging out. I got work to do. If you want to join me, that would be awesome.

I had a pretty good week in the garden. My mom and dad are still slacking but that doesn't mean I can't stay busy and help them out. What would they do without me to keep the garden under semi-control? The weather wasn't too bad and we had a few sunbeams mixed in with the rain.

The grass is starting to grow again so the yard is a bit messy right now. Dad said he won't mow for another couple of weeks so that means lots of yummy grass to nibble.

There are still raspberries growing. Mom keeps eating them. There are not very many and the ones that ripen are not nearly as flavorful as the ones that grew earlier this summer. Mom thanks me for each and every one of them. She said she appreciates everything I grow for her.

I could sure use Grete woofie's help...now where is she?

Sheesh...off in the woods playing with her squeaky ball. Do you know that she chases squirrels with the squeaky ball in her mouth? She squeaks the ball at the squirrels instead of barking at them! It makes me purr since Grete is so silly. Mom says she doesn't want to think what would happen if Grete didn't have the ball in her mouth. The squirrels are safer as long as my woofie sister has her ball.

Ah yes...one of the last tomatoes of the year.

Mom says she has a hard time photographing us inside the house in the fall and winter. With our black furs and mom refusing to use a flash inside the house, we have to suffer a kazillion outtakes while mom keeps trying.

We are not really in the mood to get our photos taken today. We learned that our good furriend Parker was diagnosed with cancer. Please join us in purring for her and her family.

Guess what? I heard that sweet little miss Truffle came by to check up on me!

Wow! A cute little sweetheart like that checking up on big ol' me? Seems just yesterday my mom thought I was a girl ::rolls eyes:: and now that the world knows the truth about my mancatliness...I now have sweet young things checking in on me and my handsomeness!

Uh...what's that you say Ellie? Oh, Truffle was worried because I was at the vet and had issues with ::whispers:: constipation?

So here's the story. I had to stay at that vet for 3 whole days until they knocked me out and um...cleaned me out. Ever since I've been home mom gives me medication twice a day. I like it because it's from a pharmacy that makes medicines for kitties that taste like chicken juice! Plus mom slips Miralax in my food too. It's working because mom keeps a watch on what comes out of me and she seems quite pleased.

Yeah, I know. Mom's are weird.

My furriends! Although it's been pouring down rain here this past week, I did manage to get in one fantastic day of sunshine and dry weather in the garden last Saturday. I had previously given up on my garden, but found that there were still plenty of things still growing and needing my attention. I also had to remind mom that she can't just pack it in for the fall/winter. There is still stuff to do!

Pears are falling to the ground and they need rescuing!

We still have tomatoes clinging to life.

The sedum that was just barely pink a few weeks ago is now deep pink.

The happy dahlia reminds us of a sunbeam!

These are berries in our devil's walking cane tree. There are pigeons who come to our tree every fall to eat these berries. They are spooky birdies since whenever mom or dad gets too close they fly away and stop eating. That makes us feel bad so we watch from a distance so they can eat all they want.

I know...I know...mom and dad need to pick up these pears. They are EVERYWHERE!

My mom counts on me to help her with her workouts. I'm her purrsonal trainer! I make sure she does everything she's supposed to do. If she slacks, I meow out encouragement. I also take sips of her water to make sure it's cold enough.

Yeah that's right...10 more reps!

It's no good my furriends.

The icky weather is here. I have been doing VERY little gardening and TOO MUCH sitting on my deck.

My summer has officially come to an end. I think there are still things to harvest like Swiss Chard and carrots, but I couldn't convince mom to come out in the rain to deal with it.

The garden is lush and green, but it's soggy.

Bennette and I got to spend some time in Grete's pee garden (notice the dead grass)...but we are not amused with the arrival of fall.

Just to update everyone on Ginger...he seems to be doing just fine now, although mom is a bit obsessed with him to make sure he's doing what he needs to do...if you know what I mean. And Figaro...he's doing better too, not sniffling anymore. Ginger and Bennette celebrated their Gotcha Day over the weekend. Ginger has been here 4 years and Bennette came exactly 1 year later so she has been with us for 3 whole years.

I sang a sock song in their honor.

There now, I've got your attention!

The weather is starting to turn here. We are going to get a few more beautiful sunny days and then next week the rain will be headed our way. Mom has been so distracted with Ginger that she has not helped me much in the yard. Mom better get busy because the basil and tomatoes must be picked. Now!

With mom and dad not gardening much this week, I can always count on my best pal Grete to keep me company. Here she is with her old ball. Mom let Grete keep it after Grete popped the squeaker out of it.

Don't worry, as of this posting Grete now has a brand new ball that has a squeaker that's harder to kill.

I spent some time at the fence looking for evil woofies. This makes mom upset so she picks me up and places me back in middle of the yard. She doesn't want me borrowing any trouble.

Moms are so silly.

Oh my goodness! I was so honored when so many of my furriends purred and prayed and woofed and woo'd...and you know what?

When I was sitting in my cage at the vet last night and I felt all of the vibrations of the purring and woofing...oh yeah...! Things started moving again!

Mom and I are big believers in the power of the purr and woofie woofs.

I'm back home tonight in my special room so mom can monitor what goes in and what comes out. You know what that means? I get mom ALL to MYSELF for watching TV!

Hi there, Ginger here! I've been having a rough time of it this past week. I mean after I got all plugged up, the vets helped me out a lot. I had to spend 3 whole days at the vet...and when I got home all I wanted to do is sit in my mom's lap and paw at her face. I'm good at that.

She made such a fuss over me.

Unfortunately, on Monday morning I had to go back to the vet because I couldn't...uh...go. I got plugged up again. Mom is VERY worried about me because...well she's my mom. It's her job to worry.

The vets are trying to figure out what's going on. They think I have a condition called megacolon. Mom says she experienced this with our guardian angel ::bows head in honor:: Michelangelo, however with me, mom says it seems worse.

We'll know more in a few days, so in the meantime, I think it would mean a lot to me and my mom if you would purr for me.

UPDATE!

The power of the purr is something magical. Ginger was able to pass everything on his own last night and will not require more severe/invasive treatment. He will be sent home today with medication to help keep things moving along as well as special food.
