Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

I don't have a whole lot to tell you about my garden adventures this past week.  Mom was sick so most of us lent a helping paw to get her all better.

She didn't feel up to getting too many photos of me.  She should be back in action, at my side to be my pawpawrazzi as I put paws to dirt this coming weekend.

What mom had was evidence from before last weekend...evidence of what Ginger does when he's supposed to be helping ME.

He paws at the deck...making biscuits.

He exposes his belly furs and his cute fangs.

He rolls and makes air biscuits.

And when I mention that maybe he might lift a paw to help....he just walks away.

Mancat Monday

Uh oh Ellie...I'm worried about mom.  She sitting there all pathetic and stuff.

Sneezing, headachy...moaning and groaning.   This looks like a job for....

Nurse Nigel!

At your service.

**my nursing skills are paying off.  Mom is starting to get better and should be back to her normal self in a couple of days**

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Pardon me...the smells in the garden are so intoxicating this time of year I can hardly stand it.  Spring is here already...I can smell it!   Even though my mom and dad are slackers and there are weeds everywhere, I'm still overjoyed.  I'm thankful for my garden and my furriends.
While I sniff the spring garden smells, I want to take a moment to remember one of the most amazing garden cats in the world.  My furriend and Society of Feline Gardeners member, Eric.

I have always admired Eric and his brother Flynn...for their skills way above what the normal garden cat must do.  He was a farmer!  I think every time my mom saw him in a flower pot she swooned.  So did I.

Eric left us suddenly this past week, off to The Rainbow  Bridge.  I hope my beloved guardian angels were all there waiting for him to show him around.

Eric, I hope you are watching over us as we wander the garden today.

Cecilia discovered a few of the daffodils that are daffing already!  There are a few early ones...the larger patch we have are not  yet blooming.

When the tree guys were here last week, they took out a few limbs from my beloved weeping willow tree.  A few of the large branches needed to come down.   I'm inspecting the wood since it will be wonderful in our outdoor fire pit.   I can see myself warming my paws!

The winter Daphne is blooming.   It is so fragrant...I love it!

The Andromeda bush is covered in little white flowers.

Even our rosemary bush is blooming!

And...contrary to what Ginger told you about on Tuesday...he is NOT a help to me.  Yes he paws around the garden, but he spends most of his time sleeping on the deck.

It's true.

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Where would my family be without me...yours truly...Ginger!

I keep things in line.  I keep Jonesie company in the garden...with all the tree cutting and stuff happening around here, who else would Jonesie depend on to keep things calm and under control?

I stir up stuff with Figaro just because I can...(notice he's inside and not disturbing Jonesie's important work)

and I kiss the pretty girls to keep them happy.

Mitten Monday

We had a busy weekend.  For some reason my dad went on a tear and he decided that our litter box room, otherwise known as the laundry room, needed to be cleaned and rearranged.

He took EVERYTHING out and then cleaned everything and put stuff back, but not everything went back in.

Whew!

I was worried...but the litter boxes all made it back safely into the room.

It's kinda nice now.

I think mom and dad were worried that I was having issues so wanted to make sure my litter box space was clean, tidy and all purrfect.   There was a rack of stuff in the room and mom thought that maybe Figgy could use it to hang out and pounce on me.

It's gone now.  No need for most of the stuff that was on it.

purrrrr.....

Jonesie's GotchaBirthday!

Happy GotchaBirthday to ME!!!!

I think I am the luckiest cat in the world...finding my family when I was starving and alone in this world.  I could have never imagined back in 2002...when I was very young and didn't expect a lot...that I would become the queen of the most magnificent garden on the planet.

Yes I know...there are other more famous gardens...some more manicured.  But my garden is my special place. My home.  My joy.

Below is a picture of me when I first arrived...batting at stuff like a youngster.  Some of you may remember my early years.  I posted about it several years ago.  For those of you who don't know my story, you can go to my early years post.

Cory baked some cupcakes, so please take one and stay awhile to help me celebrate.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Welcome back to my garden!  There has been lots of drama here!  You know if I'm meowing that it must be true...not the made up kind of drama you get from my brother Ginger.  This is the real stuff.

Even though it's not officially spring it's been getting warmer and there are big changes apaw!

On Monday night, mom went in the garden with me for a photoshoot.  Instead of focusing on me, she started taking pictures of our dear departed dogwood tree.  It even has a little yellow ribbon on it.   I thought it was thoughtful of mom to put a ribbon on it...until I learned what it meant.

It meant it was marked...for evil tree guys to come into my garden...MY GARDEN...and do...

this...

Utter destruction.   Mom told me it was for the best because deaded trees can fall down and that would be terrible if it fell on our house or on our furry little heads.

So now I can paw through the ground up bits...

And climb on the big pieces of tree.  There is WAY too much for firewood so we will have the giant pieces hauled away.  Until then, they are great to sit upon.

But...I did have to tell the tree guys what I thought of them.

So...on to more fun things!  My GotchaBirthday is tomorrow!  I was lucky enough to find this garden and my family 11 years ago.  Mom said I was about 2 years old at the time so I'm about 13 years old now!

Ginger and Cecilia will wait in the garden with me for my furriends to arrive.

Mitten Tuesday

So...after they weighed me and put the thermomiethingie in places that can only be discussed on HBO...

They let me back in my carrier.

I was not at all sure I wanted to come out again.   Of course, when you are at the evil vet place you have to do what they tell you to do.  And...I'm such a pushover, I even purred for the nice evil vet lady person.  Mom explained to me later that I needed a recheck on my pee issues.  They took another sample from me to confirm that I don't have anything physically wrong.

When the vet lady turned her back on me...I blew her a raspberry!  Don't tell her I did that, ok?

Mom said that Bennette still will need a check up, but I found out (don't tell Bennette or the others just yet) that my vet is starting to do house calls.  Mom is thrilled at the thought of not having to box up several of us at once.  One visit and they can see ALL of us!

But...that means the v-e-t will know where we live.

That can't be a good thing.

Mitten Monday

My Saturday started out pretty good.  I was hanging out with my momma Ellie and Grete and the rest of the family.  We got Fancy Feast for breakfast.   I was looking forward to a whole day with mom and dad until Grete started wondering why the PTU was in the hallway.

I was sure that it was for Bennette since mom had said she wanted her to get a check up.

But then, my momma started acting all casual and stuff.   I think she knew.  Within minutes I was picked up and stuffed inside!

No hope of escaping the locked cell.

Did you know that my Grete woofie will go along with us to the evil vet place to provide moral support?   She shakes like a leaf in the waiting room until she's 100% certain the visit is for one of us kitties.  Then she goes in the room with us and hangs out.

I love my Grete woofie.

They always start out with weighing you...but I'm never fooled.  The look on my face tells you whats coming next!

To be continued....

Pee Ess!  We have a birthday header up for Jonesie ALL WEEK!  Her GotchaBirthday is March 15th so be sure to join us to help her celebrate 11 happy years!
