Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

 ::Meowwww::

Hi there garden furriends and Society of Feline Gardeners members!

This has been a special week in the garden.  We have a second crop of raspberries ripening.  There are not very many of them, but enough to make me purr.  I discovered them and had to show my mom.
We took a close look and she praised my green paw.
After mom picked them, Ginger and I got to inspect them and put our paw of approval on them.
Ginger got a little over anxious and started licking his chops.   I had to put my paw down and let him know that I didn't grow them for him.  They are for mom and dad.  In exchange we'll get all the Fancy Feast we can eat!  It's a good deal.
A few of our furriends noticed that Ginger was doing a bit of photobombing on Tuesday.  He is showing no signs of stopping.
I hope you are still finding nice surprises in your garden!

Tuxie and Tabby Tuesday

Hi there!  Mom says I need to have more blog time.  Not that I'd insist on it, I'm modest and don't need my 15 minutes of fame.  Mom says I'm getting older and...well, she gets all mushy and stuff.  Anyway, she wants to make sure I have lots of photos.  Mom's are weird that way.  As long as she fusses over me, I'm game.

My brother Ginger and I have been hanging out...and...this is not what you think.  It's NOT a kiss!  We just have to know if one or the other is getting a better flavor of Fancy Feast.

The weather this past weekend was amazing so we hung out in the garden in the sunbeams for hours.  It was wonderful.  Dad worked on the gazebo and neither Ginger or I lifted a paw to help.

Dad says we do a better job when we just sit back and critique everything!

Monday with Cory

I had a tough week, so many furriends leaving us for The Bridge.  I wanted to make sure I spent some quality time with my family, letting them know how much I love them.

We celebrated the first day of fall enjoying the beautiful weather.  Not that I get to go outside.  My momma Ellie, Nigel and I stay inside, and look out the windows at the sunbeams.   Last night my mom roasted a whole chicken.  We all lined up for bites!  You know who was the biggest moocher of all?

Grete?   Nope
Me?  Guess again
Figaro?   He slept through the whole thing.

Nigel?  Yup!

That boy loves his roasted chicken!
Got chicken?

Thursday Reflecting in the Garden with Jonesie

Today there will not be an official meeting of the Society of Feline Gardeners.

Just a moment of quiet reflection in the garden remembering Poppy Vic.  Our purrs go out to Ann, Maggy and Zoey, and their entire family.

Mom says my white furs are supposed to match this furry blankie.  What does she know?   I'm a big tough mancat and I have adventures that involve dirt.  Lots of it.

And once I come inside, I'm tired and need my sleep.

So turn off the lights already!!!
And stop squeeing over my toes.

A man needs his rest.

Mitten Monday

I have a confession to make.  I got in trouble last week.

One of my bestest pals and protectors in the whole wide world goofed up and stepped on my tail.  Well, maybe a few furs on my tail.

Anyway, my Grete woofie stepped on my tail and I got all crazy.  I went a bit nuts and started hissing and swatting at her.

And you know what that means.

Yup...the little girl gang goes into motion.

My Momma Ellie runs to my defense...paws swinging and four-letter meows flying.

And if Momma Ellie is in the mix...well, Bennette is just one step behind. She's feisty.  Paws swinging and meowing meows I've never heard before.

Grete was out numbered.

My mom and dad were right there and they started yelling at us.  Dad grabbed Grete to protect her and mom went right for me.  And within a second I found myself locked in a bathroom by myself.  I was HISSED OFF!

Then I could hear some other stuff going on and doors closing and the next thing you know my Momma Ellie, Bennette and I were all locked in a room together.  Like we were in jail or something.   And I could hear mom and dad fussing over Grete saying what a good girl she is (and I know she is...) but they said nothing about her stepping on my tail.   Sigh.

Mom told me that I needed to cool off...sheesh.   Once I was let out of the room after a year one hour Grete and I kissed and made up.    Grete loves me and I love her.  She promised me that she didn't mean to step on my tail and I believe her.

I love my Grete woofie.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Just a short post today!  The garden is going well, and there is not much required of me now.  With less demands on me for watching over my plants, I've moved on to structural projects.  Dad has been building me a new roof over my gazebo so I stay nice and dry when it rains.  The old roof leaked like crazy.  The new roof should be much better.

I don't get too close to the construction because it can be noisy.  I  think I will hang out here lots!

I have a complaint!  I have not been getting equal time on the blog.  Mom says this is all my fault because I won't sit still and take a decent photo.
Whose fault is it that I can't take a decent photo??  I'm  not the one behind the camera...excuse me!
Give me that camera and I'll show you how it's done.
Oh all right, I'll hold still...but I'm only giving you a second.

Once the weather gets cold and icky there will be plenty of time for indoor cuddle bunny photo ops on the fuzzy blankets.  For now I want to play!!!

Momma Meezer Monday

I want to set the record straight on what goes on around here.  See...Figaro, Ginger, Jonesie, Madison...they all think they are mom's favorite.

She's pulling their paws!  I know it.

If you listen carefully to mom, she's a bit tricky.  She'll say stuff to Figaro like "you are my most favorite handsomest furry tuxie boy"...and he falls for it!  Every time!

See...here's the secret....he's the ONLY  furry tuxie boy in our family.  There's another tuxie in the family, our Bennette, but she's mom's favorite weensy feisty tuxie girl...and of course the ONLY one in our family that is a weensy feisty tuxiegirl.

And what does she say to Ginger "you are my most favorite handsomest gossipy tabby furball boy"...yeah...you guessed it...he's the ONLY gossipy tabby furball boy in our family.

But of course when she fusses over me and calls me the best momma on the planet, and her most favorite Meezer momma girl,  I know she's telling me the truth.

Purrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

 ::Meowwww::

Welcome back to my garden. Today is all about the harvest!  I know Ginger modestly told you about all he does to help mom.  It's true, Ginger does like helping to pick the harvest.

Here is the basil that Ginger mom picked in anticipation of making pesto.  Mom also picks some parsley to add to the blend.  She puts it all in a salad spinner and washes up the leaves and dries them off.

But in the middle of mom's peaceful preparations, I heard her scream!!!   Yes, a fuzzy little pal of mine hitched a ride on one of the basil leaves and snuck inside the house.  Poor baby got a bit of a bath.
Never fear, Jonesie to the rescue.  I stood by and made sure my pal made it to safety.  Out of the basil and away from the evil blade of the Cuisinart!
Just in the nick of time too.

I'm proud to say that I grew the basil, parsley and garlic!  Mom will think of me and my green paw everytime she makes something with pesto.   That makes me purr.
