My mom called me a mercenary on Sunday morning. I was shocked and hurt. Why would she do this to me?
Was it something about me being all sweet and nice trying to wake her up at 7am...with licks and kissies and stuff? Because my breakfast was 2 hours LATE! Mom seems to have had an issue with this since it wasn't because I love her. It was all about me. Me and my Fancy Feast.
So I had to make it up to her. So in this very spot (after breakfast) I sat on her for a whole hour and purred and licked her arm.
Good to see everyone this week. This time of year in the garden can be hard on a gardencat. There is so much work to do! I advise all my furriends to sharpen their claws well before starting on a days work.
I can see that my dad has been slacking. This was one of many little baby trees that were growing in my nice grass. I took my paw and pointed it out and dad got to work ripping them out. Under my snoopervision of course.
Then I made sure that BOTH mom and dad got busy pulling weeds out of the vegetable garden. It was more like a weed garden before I whapped them back to work. I can purr easily now knowing that the vegetables have a fighting chance.
The flowers are lovely. See how the white of the phlox looks fabulous with the purple of the butterfly bush? I like how both colors look great with grey furs.
Even the pears are starting to look like they are ready to eat. We will have to be patient because they are still hard. I have to watch out for fruit that falls from the trees since I don't want to get bonked on the noggin.
I'm purring that our sunny weather stays for awhile. We waited so long for a bit of warmth and sunshine this summer that I''m going to appreciate every minute of it! For all the kitties who are dealing with storms and stuff, please teleport over to my garden. It's purrfect!
Then Ginger found out that her special mancat furriend Fui is in the hospital again.
It's almost too much for a cat to handle. But I know that together we can get through anything. If any cats want to teleport over to share my new soft blankie...you know, to console me, I would love that.
We did want to pay tribute to one of our favorite CB terms, introduced to us by our dear furriend, Fin.
Seems it's hard for a kitty to get space on her own blog!
Hi there furriends. I want you to know how much I appreciated all of your purrs last week. I had big plans that did not involve being deprived of my rightful breakfast...getting stuffed in a carrier and taken to the v-e-t. It seems in order to shut me up (and I thought they appreciated having a conversation with me...) the v-e-t people gave me ::shudder:: DRUGS. I thought that was illegal.
Anyway, next thing you know, I woke up in a cage feeling woozy. Let's hope what happens at the v-e-t stays at the v-e-t!!! I don't want photos of me dancing with strange dogs with a lampshade on my head to circulate the Internet. What would my Whitey think?
Anyway...my mouth feels really awesome and my choppers are all pearly white and polished now. They didn't steal any of my teeth either.
It may take me a week to catch up on my Fancy Feast. A girl's got to maintain her figure you know.
I'm a little worried today. My sister Cory is going in for her dental appt. this morning. I'll have to throw myself into my gardening to keep my mind off it. We'll post an update as soon as we can.
There have been big changes in the garden this week. Mom and dad got tired of my weed garden. I loved sleeping in it, but admit it was a mess. Dad had it ripped out this past weekend. All that is left is smooth dirt. It is pretty awesome for rolling your furs in it. I've been promised it will be grass someday.
With no weed patch available for a snooze, I decided to check out the beets. I find that sharpening your claws near the plants makes them feel safe and protected.
Our tomatoes are still green. I keep purring for them to turn red, but it's not working. I may have to nap under the plants to get it to work.
A garden cat must make sure she spends her time equally between fruits/vegetables and flowers. Our Joe Pye Weed is looking fantastic.
The Butterfly Bush is a beautiful shade of purple.
Hollyhocks make me happy.
What's growing in your garden this week?
****UPDATE ON CORY****
Cory did fine with her dental procedure and is waking up. She did not have to have any teeth pulled!
I'm worried about my daughter Cory. She was hauled off to the v-e-t on Saturday and they stole some blood from her. She's not sick, but the v-e-t said her teeth need to be cleaned, so she had blood stolen so they can test it to make sure it's safe to put her "under" so they can take care of her icky teeth.
She goes in early Thursday morning. I don't like it when my daughter is out of my sight. I hope they take good care of her. I will be purring hard until she returns home safe and sound.
Please purr with me, ok?
ZZZzzzzzzzz....wha? You mean I won't get my Fancy Feast breakfast tomorrow?
