Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

No super secret password today.  It's clear the password was leaked to someone who infiltrated my garden sanctuary and Society of Feline Gardeners Headquarters.  For those of my furriends and Society Members showing up today, Grete woofie will be standing guard, sniffing everyone who shows up.  She knows everyone in the CB so it will be safe.
Thank you to all who purred for me as my sister Ginger spread word of what happened to me late last week.  I thought I wouldn't live to write another garden post.  Thank Cod for my wonder woofie sister Grete for sounding the alarm!

I was minding my own business, tending to my garden when I saw this flash of white fur coming at me.  I've never seen anything like it!  I mean, I love my woofie sister Grete.  She's a big girl and towers over me, but wouldn't harm me.  This...this thing...that turned out to be a woofie was not much bigger than me!  I'm sure it wanted to kill me.

Mom was screaming and tried to help me but she couldn't move fast enough.  After the evil woofie ripped off my collar I took matters into my own paws and climbed up this tree.  It wasn't my first choice but it was there.  I heard mom below me. I could only hang on so long...and then I lost my grip.  I said my purrayers...but landed directly in my moms arms.   She hugged me tight and took me in the house.  By this time the woofie had disappeared.  Mom says I was panting...I couldn't breathe I was so scared.

I stayed inside the house, afraid to go out for days.  Dad went door to door and located where the woofie lives and talked to the human that lives there.  Once that was done, dad went to the store to buy stuff to plug up the holes where the evil woofie got under the fence...she lives in the house behind my big hedge.

Figaro snoopervised my dad while he chopped out part of the hedge so he could see what he was doing.   Once the fence line was fixed, mom talked with me and said what they had done.  I felt comfortable enough to go back to my garden...but I'm sticking closer to the house now.   Figaro, Cecilia and I all checked out the fence.

We decided teamwork was best when watching for introoders, so here we are patrolling the yard together.

As a garden cat, I learned valuable lessons from this horrid experience.

Next time your humans try and clip your claws, fight to save them!  My sharpies saved my life!   You should also know where all of your good climbing trees are at all times.  Any other high spots in the yard are also useful...like the top of the barbecue.   Scope all of this out and make sure you have a plan.

May you always be safe.

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

You won't believe what's been happening around here.

Late last week, after Jonesie posted her garden post..something terrible happened.  Now...I don't want to alarm or cause too much drama...I would never do that.   I want to start out by saying that Jonesie is fine.

It was a normal late afternoon.   Jonesie and I were in the garden...well..ok, I wasn't in the garden.  I was on the deck on my bench.

I saw an introoder.  Grete was in the house, and she saw it too and started barking her head off!  This alerted mom who was doing laundry.  Mom came up to see what Grete was barking at and she saw...well, WE saw a little Jack Russell Terror Terrier woofie in our backyard.

In OUR fenced yard!

Mom left Grete in the house and came to see what the woofie wanted.

Mom tried to get the woofie to come to her, but the woofie wouldn't listen.  Then...the unthinkable happened.  Jonesie was walking through the garden and the little woofie saw her.  Before mom could catch the little beast, the woofie went after Jonesie.  It was horrifying...Jonesie was attacked in her very own garden.  Society of Feline Gardeners Headquarters was rudely disrespected!

Mom was screaming and trying to protect our Jonesie.  The little woofie went for Jonesie's neck and tore off her collar.  Jonesie, being a smart cookie went up the nearest tree.   This gave mom time to position herself under the tree to catch Jonesie when Jonesie couldn't hang on any longer.

Jonesie fell into the safety of mom's arms.

The cowardly woofie disappeared.

I was lucky the little crazed woofie never saw me.   I made myself REALLY small on my bench.

Jonesie has refused to step a paw outside of the house since this happened, which breaks my furry little heart since the garden has always been Jonesie's sanctuary.

She will gather up her courage to meow about what happened on her next garden post...but it won't be easy.

Dad went door to door and found where the offending woofie lives and he talked to the humans.  Mom has also filed a report with Animal Control.   Our hero dad is also fixing places where little woofies can get under the fence and into OUR garden.

The woofie WILL NOT get away with it.

All I can say is that the real hero in this whole thing is our Grete! If she had not barked to alert mom ::shudder:: I don't want to think about what would have happened.

Pee ess...Jonesie could use your purrs.  She is still very emotionally traumatized by what happened so could use your support.  Once the garden is secured, we are not sure she will feel safe going outside.

Momma Meezer and The Mitten Monday

The litterbox room saga continues!  It's moving along, but it still not done.

The tile had to be ripped out and re-done.  Cory and I are not easy to please.  We expect it to be purrfect.

Oh yeah, I know that Cory showed you her teeth last week. Not to be upstaged by my very own daughter...here are my choppers.  I too will need to see my dentist...but not right away.

So what do you think Cory?  Yeah...still more work to do.

Sigh.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::3 paw taps::

Excuse me...3 wet paw taps.

Can I borrow a towel?

I've spent way too much time hanging out near the house...trying to stay dry.  It's been raining way too much for July.  The only good news is that my garden is getting lots of water.  Everything is growing like crazy!

I can't sit at my table and entertain furriends like I want to do.

You know what that means?

Yup.  Time for this smart garden cat to snooze it up inside the house.  If it were cold...I'd be in front of the fireplace.

Sweet garden dreams my furriends!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

I had big plans for this past weekend.  It rained.

Part of Saturday and most of Sunday.  This is NOT FAIR!

It's July.

I should be rolling on my back in the warm dirt of summer.

This summer needs a do-over!

Mitten Monday

As you know, my sister Cecilia had some bad teeth in her mouth.  She had 4 teeth taken out!  She is doing much better now and is purring because she is loved and has so many furriends who purred for her.

But...you know what that ridiculous v-e-t said?  He said my teeth aren't so hot either and I'm next on the list for a dental cleaning.  Me!  Precious sweet me!

The nerve.  I mean I was all nice and stuff.  Went in for a check up with my momma Ellie and Bennette and the crazy v-e-t looked at all of our mouths and said I was the worst!

I'm hissed off.  And I don't hiss very often.

This is my..."I'll tell you what I think of that" face.

It will probably be a few weeks before I get scheduled.

Sigh.

Society of Feline Gardeners-Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie and Grete's 5th Birthday!

::3 paw taps::

Welcome back to my garden!  I've been getting questions from kitties wanting to know how they can join the Society of Feline Gardeners.   It's easy!  All you have to do is be a kitty (or a woofie or buns...or birdies...-that's why we went with our new super not so secret password of 3 paw taps) that has a garden, dreams of a garden...or just wants to join us because...well just because.

You can copy our Society of Feline Gardeners badge from my side bar and use it on your bloggie to show you are a member.   Or you can email me and I can send it to you.

Then when you do a garden post on Thursdays, leave a link so all the other members of The Society of Feline Gardeners...or just curious kitties can visit you.

Ginger and I did a bit of hanging out this past week.  We didn't work too hard.

When I lay around in the garden I get leaves and stuff stuck in my furs.  I like it that way.  I'm an outdoorsy kind of girl.  It's important to show your appreciation for your garden by wearing a bit of it.

I like to stretch and show of my collection.

Gotta wander off and check out what's growing!

Looks like the broccoli is starting to look good.

Before I forget it's our Grete's 5th birthday today!

Please leave a link so we can visit!

Woofie Wednesday

Hi there!  Grete here!

Guess what?  I got to meet a new woofie friend this past weekend.

He lives in a very cool place with lots of room to run and great smells to sniff.  His name is  Andy.

He's pretty awesome...and he likes to play and run...and well...pee on things.

I know...a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do.

Momma Tells All

Hi there!  Cecilia asked me to let you know how she's doing.  She had a bit of a rough day yesterday.

She was hauled off to the v-e-t and she had to have 4 teeth extracted.  Ouchie!  Actually, the v-e-t promised my sister Cecilia that she'd feel way better in a couple of days.

Mom and dad picked her up and she was still kinda wobbly.  She was locked in a room all by herself...ok, not by herself since mom locked herself in there too...so Cecilia could be monitored and not be lonely.

Cecilia said she could feel everyone purring for her. She thought about posting herself, but she didn't want her picture taken when she's not feeling her best, so that's why she asked me to report for her.

Mitten Monday

Guess what time it is?  It's my sister Cory's favorite time of  year!

The toy cherry tree has lots of toys to play with cherries to eat!
I helped mom pick them so she could carry them inside for Cory.

Cory doesn't understand why she only gets cherries during a short time in the summer.

When she sees them, her eyes get big and she starts to purr.

All is right again.

pee ess...Cecilia goes in for her dental surgery on Monday morning.  Please purr for her.
