Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::3 paw taps::

Hi there everyone!  Welcome back to my soggy garden.  Do you know that we've had the soggiest March ever?

This is definitely making it hard to get a garden going.  The moss is thrilled, but I can't get anyone out here to help me with the real work

My claws got a good work out on this nice tree.

Hmmm...what do to now?

Looks like the rhubarb is starting to come up.  That's a good thing.  My dad loves to make rhubarb crisp and my mom loves to eat it.  I better keep a close watch on it.

Whoa...what's going on here?  Pay attention my feline garden pals...on the left of this picture is my beloved nip.  To the right is an invasive...NOT NIP plant know as lemon balm.  Some humans might like lemon balm, but if left to it's own devices...wham!  It takes over the precious nip and that's the end of the story.  Mom and dad...better rip it out now.  Do it for me.  Do it for all the cats in the neighborhood.

It's the right thing to do.

So many weeds...so little time.  A garden cats work is never done.

I sure hope you're getting sunbeams in your garden this week!  Leave a link so everyone can visit you!

Tuesday Woofie Takeover

Hey there, Grete here!  I've had enough of Tabby Tattletale this and Tuxie Tuesday that.  It's my turn!

We've had pouring down rain for the last several weeks.  It's been tough to drag my humans out for regular walkies.  I saw my chance during a "sunbreak" this past weekend and off we went.

We walked to the local Starbucks where mom and dad got coffee.  Anything to keep them happy while we walk.

Then it was off to the park trail where I discovered  tree chewed down by a beaver!  How cool is that!  I bet mom and dad would have walked right by it if I didn't point it out.

What would they do without me?  Oh yeah...about 2 minutes after this "discovery" it started dumping down rain on us.  Did I care?  Nope.

Momma Meezer Monday

What?  You have news for us mom?

You mean...what?  We will have an...a...um...

V-E-T in the family?

What?

Our wonderful human cousin has been accepted into school to be a...V-E-T?

Can we still like her?

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::3 paw taps::

Welcome back to my garden.  It's been a tough year so far.  The only thing giving me hope is that it's now spring!!!!  Yay!  Even though it's been dreary and rainy and soggy I'm looking forward to long warm days in my yard.

As you can see, mom and dad have been slacking. By this time last year, the beds were prepped and ready to go.  They are stalling on doing the work.  I keep on walking around the perimeter of each of the beds making sure they are aware of all the work that still needs to be done.  I don't really blame them.  They don't want to get all soggy and stuff.

My daffodils are starting to daff!  I remember one year when they bloomed in February. Not so much this year.

Seems that no one wants to be out in the garden.  Will the work ever get done?  It's a big yard for me to do everything myself.
Ginger has been NO help at all!

Please leave a link and let us know what's going on in your garden.  Maybe you can inspire my family to get to work!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

Do you know how hard it is to be patient?

To wait days, weeks, months for the sun to return?

My belly was deprived of sunbeams...

and my public was deprived of my belly!

This feels so good!

Hi ya Fui!

Momma Meezer Monday

I'm consoling Bennette.  We found out this weekend that we DID NOT win the HGTV Dream Home.   Bennette was crushed.

I tried to tell her we already have a fantastic home.  I think my daughter Cory got her a bit stirred up.  Something about having 2 homes...both in states that have fabulous sharp cheddar cheese.   A move to Vermont would have been purrfect in Cory's mind.

I'm happy we're staying here.

Society of Feline Gardeners-Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie

::3 paw taps::

Hi my furriends and Garden Society members.  I hope you saw my post yesterday where I shared with the world that my name is Jonesie and I am a gardener!

The sad news for me is that I have not spent any time in the garden this week.  It's been raining constantly for days and days and it has not stopped.  My garden is a muddy mess.  I don't even want to sit on the BBQ because that is only for when it rains off and on...not when it rains all day.
So why you ask...why the sunshine in the photo?  Because I made my mom go back to March of 2010 to prove that it should be sunny this time of year, at least some of the time.  Last year I had sunbeams in March, last year my daffodils were in full bloom and the nip was tender and sweet.

Ginger has been stubborn enough to sit outside on the bench under the roof overhang.  She doesn't stay too long outside.

This is our view from the bench.  The garden lesson this week is patience.  We must be patient while we wait for the warmth and sun to return to us.

We hope that you are enjoying sunbeams in your garden!

Wordy Wednesday

I love to sing.  I adore singing to socks.  Mostly dirty socks.  I drag them all over the house singing my songs.  Mom says I'm a soulful singer, with quite an amazing range.  I will also sing to small fruits and vegetables.  Once dad recorded me singing to a small tomatillo.
I love my garden.  It's my favorite place in the whole world.  I make sure that plants are planted in the correct spots.  I use my paws to make sure the soil has enough moisture.  I  nibble on the catnip to make sure it's growing as it should.   I started the Society of Feline Gardeners to join with other like minded cats in the world to share our love and expertise.
Being a momma is my purpose in life.  I mother EVERYONE, not just my daughter Cory.
What can I say, I'm a silly girl.

Many thanks to the talented Ann from Zoolatry and Judi from Sammy, Andy and Shelly for making the wonderful graphics for Wordy Wednesday for everyone to enjoy.
