Formerly Feral Friday

Hi there!  I finally convinced Cory to let me post.  Everyone else does way more interesting things than me.  I just hang out.  Eat my food.  Sleep in my bed.  Admire my girlfriend Cecilia.  Get pets from mom and dad.  You know, boring stuff.  Mom is letting everyone join the Naughty Kitty Club, but she actually thought about not having me join.  Because I'm never naughty.  But I do want to join with everyone else.  I promised her I'd do something naughty this year.  It'll be hard for me but I'll come up with something.

So until I can convince my mom and the NKC staff members...I'm just a "friend of".   It's hard being a good boy.

Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Welcome back to my garden!  I had such fun with Alfie Marshall last week.  We are going to have our garden party sometime in July or August.  Once we set a date we'll let everyone know.  All kitties and woofies will be welcome.  We'll have food, drinks, party games and music!

This past weekend we had a window of wonderful January weather.  Dad decided to cut down the bamboo patch to harvest a lifetime supply of plant stakes.  I had to make sure he did everything safely.

After it was all down I had to inspect everything to make sure we have all the sizes we need for the plants this summer.

We took a break between jobs.  Part of the day we spent cutting down the bamboo and the rest of the day was spent moving and adjusting the raspberry patch.  Dad carries me from job to job to make sure I don't get too tired.   A full day of garden snoopervision can wear a girl out.

I approved of dad's placement of the boards around the new raspberry bed.

If you look closely you can see the plants are already starting to bud out a bit!   I will purr really hard that we don't get more really cold weather.  We don't want the raspberries to be goners.

I know that I put in a full day's work, but I wanted to remind you that I still have a sense of humor.  All work and no play would make me a dull girl.  Just wanted you to know that .  Not only do I plant raspberries, I blow them in your general direction.

Don't forget to leave a link and let me know what's going on in your garden!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday Tuxietales

You wouldn't believe what happened this week.  First of all, we are all very upset because mom and dad are not eating meat or dairy right now.  There is still cheese in the fridge so Coryspoiledwhippersnapperppoutyface still gets cheese on demand.  I personally don't like it at all, so what good does that do me?   Where's my chicken?  Where's my steak?   And if you think I'm going to develop a taste for lentils...forget it.  When I moved in here I had certain expectations.  They better not mess with my cat food, that's all I got to say.   And guess what?  Mom and dad are actually happy because we no longer jump on the table to steal their food.  It's not worth stealing!

But on to the real story of the week.  You see Bennette was hanging out in the bathtub.  She was acting all suspicous so mom asked her what she was doing?  She pawed a bit, then purposefully and deliberately walked her Tuxie self over to the bathtub drain, positioned her cute little rear right over the drain and went pee!  Yes, you got that right.  That stinker went pee right down the drain!  And mom was so stunned she just watched in awe.  She didn't yell or nothing.  Mom is now convinced that Bennette has been doing this all along because she was so perfect about it all...if mom didn't see it happen she would have never known.  There is a drip from the bathtub faucet so it's kind of self cleaning, right?  I for one am impressed so I'm handing this post over to Bennette.

Yes, I'm a genius.   If I were human I'd be a rocket scientist.

Mancat Monday

My Gotcha Day is coming up in just a couple of weeks.  It's hard for me to believe that a year ago I was outside.   Had I known that I could just come inside, have a woofie to watch over me...girl kitties to woo...an endless supply of food, toys and soft places to sleep...I would have done so earlier.

But no...I had to play hard to get and freak out on everyone.   I'm a bit stubborn, but I'm a softie now.

Grete is doing much better after her rough time with the Golden Retrievers in the dog park.  She was on limited activity for a couple of weeks.  She is now playing ball in the backyard and should be back at the dog park next week.

Easy Sunday

I know I should be helping my mom more with my blog.  It is my blog and she depends on me to tell her what to do.

But it's Sunday and all I want to do is sleep.

Thursday In The Garden with Jonesie and Alfie

Hey, what's that I smell?

Mom!  Did you see that we have a visitor?  I can hardly believe my eyes!!!

Mom!  Look who's here!  I had no idea that Alfie's mom would allow him to teleport over all the way from the UK!  We have important Garden Society business to discuss and I thought it best to discuss in fur person.  The President and Vice President have lots of work to do. Most importantly we want to have a garden party this summer.  We gotta start working out the details now!

Alfie, before we even think of doing any work, let's share some grass.   Alfie, what do you think of Oregon grass as compared to Sidmouth grass?  Our nip isn't growing now otherwise I'd share that with you.  After we nom on the grass mom has some tuna we can share for lunch. I'm sure you're hungry after your trip.

Let's go check out the garden beds and the greenhouse!  You can see that we can set up a niptini stand in the greenhouse and maybe by summer we'll have fresh nip in the herb garden.  I think the garden party guests will love it.  I'm just so excited to be able to give you the tour of the yard.  Do you have any suggestions for plant placement while you are here?

Mom has made a special exception for Cory and Ellie to come outside.  Grete woofie is inside the house now Alfie since she gets a bit crazy around kitties she doesn't know that well...so since you can't come inside Cory and Ellile got to come outside for this special occasion!  Before the garden party we need to figure out what do to prepare Grete.  We could have dozens of kitties here and maybe even a few guest woofies like Khyra and Diamond and Dixie Dog...oh this is getting exciting!

Before you head on home, I think you should nap on the ledge of the garden bed.  I take some of my best naps here.  I'm so thrilled to be able to share it with you!   So where do you think we should set up the tables for the ham and stuff?

Alfie, I'm hoping you can come and visit many more times as we work out the details of the party.  Maybe I can come and visit you?  Give my love to Milo when you get home.   Be safe on your journey!

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

It's been an interesting week here.  Ok, with all of us kitties and a woofie how can it not be interesting?  So anyway, the big news around here is that Grete woofie has been put on limited activity for 2 whole weeks by the v-e-t!  I'm not sure you know this, but her ability to go and get her ya ya's out at the dog park make living with her bearable.  Now that she can't rough and tumble...she's making our lives miserable.

It all started last Saturday when she went to the dog park.  She went up to a couple of golden retrievers with her squeaky ball and instead of chasing her, they roughed her up.  The humiliation of being roughed up by a couple of golden retrievers is bad enough.  Now she has to take it out on all of us while her shoulder gets a little less tender.  She whines and moans and I swear she is talking a strange doggie language that none of us understand...although my mom and dad said she's saying "take me to the dog park" "throw my ball".  Since she can't what's she doing?  She tries to interfere with our cat games, tries to break it up when we wash each other...sheesh.  What a pain.  I'm counting the days until next Saturday.

Jonesie has also begun to act all mysterious...and muttering things about having a special visitor.  Like she's all that.  Doesn't she know that even if we did get visitors it would be for me?

Momma Meezer Monday

I love to mother everyone in the house.  Cory is ok with it.  She gets a little jealous every once in awhile, but mostly she understands my need to take care of everyone, including her.   Bennette and I share a special relationship.  Even though my mom thinks Bennette is older than me, Bennette likes to pretend she's my baby.  I wash her and cuddle her and we hold paws.  It makes me happy.

Easy Sunday Morning

I hate it when I fall asleep when I'm reading.

I'm hoping your Sunday is filled with rest, relaxation and a good book to read.

Formerly Feral Friday

I just love my willow tree.   The squirrels like it too.  One day I'm gonna catch one.  I just know it.

Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

Meow!  Welcome back to my garden.  I had such a great time in the yard last week I could hardly contain myself.  Dad was doing a bunch of work and I was thrilled to be able to snoopervise.  He wouldn't be able to do it all without me.   I meowed and I pawed the dirt and I ran up and down trees...

I got yard stuff stuck in my floofy bum...

When dad took a break, I washed up.  A garden cat shouldn't be afraid to get a little dirty, but you have to keep your machine clean.

When dad started taking the work too seriously, I reminded him that we need to play too.

Of course there was real work to be done too.  I helped dad transplant some blueberry and raspberry plants.   It was really hard work, so Grete decided to put her paws in the dirt to help us.  I'm really proud of her.  Dad wrote about all the things he did this past weekend here, but don't be fooled.  He couldn't have done it without me.

.
My seedlings are coming along too...you can see where I put my paw in the dirt to test the soil again.  Don't worry, I remembered to wash my paws before I came back in the house.

Don't forget to leave a link and let me know what's going on in your garden.
