Meow!
Now that summer is winding down, I like to hang out in the garden with my family. Ginger and Figaro spend lots of time with me. I'm proud of all that Figaro has learned from me this year. And Ginger...well, she's a good girl but she's not much of a gardener.
Bennette likes to join us too, but she only spends a little time in the garden. She mostly just likes to meow about the latest neighborhood news with Ginger.
We have one sunflower this year. It's a volunteer from last year when mom planted a bunch of sunflower seeds. It didn't get very big, but we still love it because it makes us happy.
Our nicotiana is blooming now. It comes in all sorts of pretty colors.
And look at me! I'm no longer afraid of the composter! We are finally getting a few tomatoes. Most of them are still green. I think all of them are going to get ripe all at the same time and then Cory is going to have to help mom make salsa and sauce.
We only have a few eggplants. They are not doing as well as last year, so we will enjoy the ones we have.
Hope all is going well in your garden this week. Please leave a link!

Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
We already made some spaghetti here but I think that most of the tomatoes here will be homemade salsa soon!
Oh! You've got mayters...we don't have any mayters (we've tried, but just when they get all nice and pretty, something gets them and they turn all black! Ick!)...your mayters look really good!! And those eggplants are also really nice. Wow!! We have pumpkins...lots of pumpkins, but that is all...no other veggies so we are really impressed by what you have. Good work!! Purrs, Lautrec and Tiny
I bet the humans are happy to have the vegetables, but I was wondering - don't they ever think of growing something really good, like crickets or mice? Or does that come more under farming? I'm afraid I'm not up on all the agriculture terms.
You look like a kitty god being offered harvest goodies :-)
We love that sunflower! And the tomatoes and eggplant look yummy. Mmm, homemade salsa and sauce--sounds divine.
Have a lovely Thursday!

Hi Jonesie,
Yoor garden looks like a great place to hang owt in. I LOVE the sunflower too! And the veg are PAWSOME!
I'm glad Figaro has done so well ~ it's not easu learning to be a gardening cat. It tooked me ages and I still have tons to learn.
An' I thrilled yoo overcame yoor fear of the composter ~ they can be very scary when yoo've neber seen them before. I used to be scared of the rake!
Love Alfie xx
That is an AWESOME sunflower, you guys are brilliant!
Our gardening is winding down too. Our veg didn't do very well this year except for eggplants. . . which we had coming out our ears! Now we're, like you, just kind of hanging out and planning for spring. Enjoy the cooler weather!!
Your sunflower and veggies are very nice, even if not the quantity you want. All our cherry tomatoes seem to be ripening all at once too.
Love the picture of the cat club meeting in the garden! And your flowers and vegetables are beautiful, Jonesie. Our mom says that nicotiana is gorgeous - she hasn't grown that for a long time, but you have inspired her!
Our tomatoes and peppers failed miserably this year, Jonesie. If even a Master Gardener has the occasional problem, we do not feel so bad.

Oh wow! Look at those tomatoes...I wonder if any have nip in them....
Wally
There may not be many eggplants but they are pretty big!
Your garden looks great. Those eggplants are beautiful!
Sniffie and the Florida Furkids
Looks like y'all had quite a successful meeting!
We're glad you aren't scared of the composter anymore Jonesie! You have quite a crew of helpers with you today.
Our tomatoes are pretty green too. We have had a few ripe ones, but nothing like last year.
We agree that the volunteer sunflower is beautiful, Jonesie! It's always lovely when your garden gives you a gift like that.
Your ripe tomatoes look so yummy.
Great garden post as always; your vegetables look great!...Love seeing all you awesome kitties in one shot!...Happy Mo Cats Day, sweet friends...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Those are lovely tomatoes and eggplants! And that sunflower is very bright and purrty!!!!
We are missing Madison. What's up Madison?
Wow, those eggplants still look pretty bif to me! We think sunflowers are happy flowers too :-)
We like your sunflower too. Our tomato plants ripened a lot earlier than usual this year and have nearly finished now.
We are glad ta see ya got tamaters growin nicely. All ours dried up an died. The nicotiana is very pretty. We might try growin that nex year.
It looks lovely Jonesie! Hope your Mom is having fun with flat Cory.
We wish that we could join in on gardening Thursdays - 'cept we don't go outside & our Mom could/would kill a cactus WITHOUT TRYING!!! MOL!!
Very nice pics - we hope you will enjoy your homemade salsa & eggplants!!
Have a wonderful day!!
~Nico, Simon & JayJay :)
ps.Simon: Oh, you kitties are silly!! I wouldn't take ALL of the mousies & stinky goodness!! MOL!! Just Kidding! My powers of persuasion are aimed at my Mom - 'cept they don't work so well on her...
Those tomatoes and eggplants look beautiful (almost as beautiful as you, Jonesie!). :)
Jonsie, we have been wondering and wondering about the composter! We remember that you detested that thing.
Mommy says if you have too many 'maters put a stamp on 'em and mail 'em to us!
Oh my - dat is a pretty nice garden. Bet it's fun to investigate.
Sorry, I'm so late...By the time I made this comment, all are gone from your human tummy...and I bet it's a great meal : )
It's great to see all of your kitties communing outdoors. It seems Figaro is the most promising new gardener of them all. Can't wait to see what he does next year.
Wow, your eggplants look fantastic, and the few tomatoes you have, too -- I sure hope they're just as tasty as they look.
Well done, Jonesie!
Oh we think that everything looks good - amazing that the tomatoes are ripening so late! And it is too bad that there were not a lot of eggplants - they must not have been in the mood to bloom and grow this year!
Good news about your tomatoes getting red!
Hello Jonesie....I discovered your blog while I was about to leave a comment on the Animal Shelter Volunteer (meowmans) blog and I am so glad I was nosy enough to find you! I love your blog and I especially love the organization on the left margin because I could scroll down to read all about your family easily. How nice that you have so many brothers sisters to play with and enjoy! I am impressed that you are a gardener too!
Please visit my 2 kitties, Buster and Henry, and our coonhound, Daisy, at http://theteacherspets.blogspot.com sometime! I am your newest follower!
no matter what crop.. anything is a reward. We weren't able to use Mrs H to post last Thursday cos she was off colour. We were still outside though. We adore your posts and understand the fear that a compost darlek can hold. Love Darcy and Bingley xx
Yep...something about sunflowers DO make you happy, even if they are small!
You got some nice shiny, healthy veggies there! We would probly put the bitey on them and ruin em!
Nice that you have been a good teacher to Figaro and Ginger, well maybe she's just a snoopervisor like alot of girls are?
